Newcastle V Somerset Play Offs Sunday 13th October 2013

Recommended Posts

Can't we use the track covers again as a precaution? Saying as we really need to get this meeting on

Not at the track at the moment, but if Jonny thinks they would be needed today, they will be down. Unfortunately we are very light on helpers to put down and pick up the sheeting on the dog track, so the sheets on the track are an extra job, usually when the dog track sheeters are not at the stadium. Anybody who wants to help with the dog sheets today, putting them down at about 3.00 (rain permitting) and picking them up after the meeting, will get free admittance to the meeting. Fancy it ?.

Ollie rides today as unfortunately Lewis is still injured.

You're supposed to be asleep,

Heavy drizzle just arrived as forecast. Should be easing off up to 3.00 if correct, and hopefully the meeting will go ahead.

Just a footnote to what Tsunami posted earlier about the Auction. We can accept card payments from people as well.Fingers crossed the weather holds so we can send the Rebels packing and make more money for the Air Fence Fund. See you there.

Mizzley rain now stopped and the SUN is out, Wow, the power of prayers. Going now to the track to put the sheets on the doggie track. Bring your suntan lotion with you.

Good luck to both sides - hope the weather holds fine from now til its done.

Hoping for a Diamonds win so the Rebels at least have to work for it at Redcar.

Back from the track and everything is OK and set up for a super meeting against the Rebels. Track had a two hour spell of rain after lunch, and every weather app is now saying 'cloudy' for the rest of the evening. Track looked good and grippy at the starts and the outside( might that play into the Rebels hands). Anyway, everything is fine and looking forward to our most important meeting of the year. Must try to get an early lead and extend it, and then survive any TR's before the crunch heats 13, 14, and especially 15.

Doyle showing the benefit of his great experience.

1.When to fall off (when half a wheel behind on the outside)

2. When to knock the opposition off (when half a wheel behind on the inside)

Well done Newcastle. A hard earned 3 points if updates anything to go by!

What do Somerset need to score at Redcar to progress?

Not too sure but I think they are through if they don't get hammered at Redcar
