It would be very interesting to know if any of Wilko's detractors have ever Raced a Speedway Bike and not, perhaps, just ridden one?

So the only person allowed to criticise a speedway rider - is someone who has ridden competitive speedway? Dear me...

No - not 'that old chestnut' Arson.

No - that's NOT what I said. I said that "It would be very interesting to know if any of Wilko's detractors have ever Raced a Speedway Bike and not, perhaps, just ridden one"?

What I did NOT say is that you are NOT allowed to criticise. You are - BUT there is a big difference between constructive criticism and downright nastiness. Some of your Posts regarding Wilko have not been appropriate in my opinion.

Glad you know something about History......................................................................

Wonderful thing Education. :)

Surely people are allowed to be critical where it's due, especially when you consider how much we have to pay. Incidentally, I was the one who told Carl that I wouldn't have re-signed him, on the Bears Talk Forum. I think he's not going to improve and he lost us a few close matches through his falls. Anyway he claims to have three bikes now and a Redcar specialist bike that is to be looked after by someone else, so he might do a bit better (I have my doubts)and if he does then great. I do wish all the Bears a successful season (even if it isn't the team I would have gone with).

Some of my quotes have been 'nasty' what are you 6-years-old? Carl is a big boy and sure he is not in tears. The fact is, since signing for the Bears, he has done nothing to warrant any praise - he has been below average at best, that is the basis of my own disappointment at him being in our team again this year.

And I think most of the criticism for Wilkinson has been constructive as everyone is telling him to stop falling off his bike!

Like with all the Bears riders, I hope they all go out and add three points to their averages - but as has been said that won't happen and I will still being going week in week out, no matter what is served up in front of me.

My thoughts on Redcar Bears 2014.

Richard Lawson: Star man in a very average looking team, will score double figures in most if not all meetings. A lot of pressure will be on him to produce the goods. Hope he doesnt miss to many meetings with his Elite League team.

Aaron Summers: Back again for another season, has in my opinion stood still for a couple of years at Redcar. Will be solid enough as a back up heat leader to Lawson. Hopefully with no Elite League money coming in he will up his game and start to show the consistancy that he has lacked over the last few seasons.

Richard Hall: Not everyones cup of tea, certainly not a Kossa Smith. Last minute signing who had stated he wanted to concentrate on grass track racing this season. Home points should be solid enough, previous Silver Helmet winner, lets hope he is looked after by the management because if he spits his dummy out it takes him a long time to find it again. Suspect away performances. Wouldnt say a heat leader anymore at this level.

Hugh Skidmore: Solid enough back up rider who really needs to kick on this year. Turned in some very good performances at Redcar plus a couple of stinkers. Not so decent away from home, maybe this year will the turning point for him.

Carl Wilkinson: Entertaining to say the least, gives it everything, falls off a lot but gets back up and never gives in. Bikes have always looked a little suspect. Has stated he is doing everything possible to improve on his past years at Redcar. Willing to give the guy a chance to prove his doubters wrong. May float between second string and reserve.

Jan Graversen: Major shock to my system when it was announced we had signed him again. Dropped very quickly last time he rode for Redcar. Needs to up his game a lot and show more consistancy. Its not all about gating, sometimes you need to fight for your points. Lot of pressure on with a youngster along side him. May score well early season from reserve which may see him float between reserve and second string which is a major worry for me.

Luke Crang: Youngster starting out on his Premier League career. Not seen a lot of Luke but what I have seen he has shown that he is a lad who wants to get on in the sport. Hope he is given a decent chance.

So overall, I would say a team that will run around middle to bottom of the league. They should win a majority of the home fixtures but not expecting anything much from the away meetings. May be a long season but at least we have a season to look forward to and I cant wait for the reduction in entry prices once the air fence is fully paid for.

Well Wilko has had a couple of seasons as a Bear, Hall hasn't started yet.

In this weeks Star, Team Manager Jitendra Duffill calls for all clubs to be included in the Pairs and Fours. He says including all 13 tracks would be beneficial for the clubs. Can someone tell him the AGM was weeks ago, and a bit late to bring this up now.

It doesn't make him wrong though......................................................................... does it?

The formula -- and costs involved -- for the Fours, especially, would be interesting.

Doesn't make him right either. Odd numbers like 13 cause probs with the format, and if you include all the teams, the costs go up and riders get fewer rides which some riders would think, why bother.

BTW Do you look for every dissent post to add your support to.
