We would have got 4 league points that night if it had gone ahead. Erm...... Yes you would as that fixture was already rode. Get ready for him to announce riders like Gary Hancock, David Ward, John Auty, Jack Doyle. This is no word of a lie he gets Leicester riders names wrong after a whole season of knowing them. Another example of his mistakes was on sunday he said " WHAT A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT TO HAVE A BRITISH WORLD TEAM CUP CHAMPION TAI WOFFINDEN " I am so shocked the Birmingham promotion has employed him as if you ask any Leicester fan he is the worst in the country by a long stretch. He has a high pitched & annoying voice who doesn't know much about speedway unless your name is Scott Nicholls. Brummies fans strap yourself in to be made the laughing stock of speedway on the biggest stage possible. The meeting at end of season was a totally different fixture But it was the events lies about the earlier call-off that meant an SCB Official had to be present for the September fixture (and all others) and as has been pointed out several times on the meeting thread, it has to be the HOME team's riders that request the abandonment!! Added to that, that BV had no other dates to rearrange the fixture before the cut-off and its in the rules (like it or not) that a meeting can be called after 10 heats! Not an ideal situation to be in being near the cut off date for the play offs (Workington had a similar problem last year) but again the fans get short changed watching a farce of a match. SGP 49 Posted October 9, 2013 MONDAY night is the most important date on the fixture calendar for the Selco Birmingham Brummies and all of the clubs fans for many many years. The club are delighted to have secured a major sponsor for the evening in Heartlands Ford and look forward to welcoming their party to Perry Barr. The team are preparing for the battle of their lives as they go into the second leg of the Sky Sports Elite League Final against the Poole Pirates. The Pirates secured a 21 point advantage in the first leg so Birmingham will need to be on top form from Heat 1 through to the final race if they are to secure their first ever winners trophy. The format of the league saw the Selco Brumies finished top of the pile, the top 4 then go into a playoffs battle to determine the overall winners. 2013 has been a breath taking season for Birmingham with win after win taking them to the top of the table. Their Perry Barr track has become somewhat of a fortress for victories and that’s exactly what the team will be racing for on Monday night. Birmingham Team Manager Phil Morris said “no one was happy with the amount of points we went down by at Poole in the first leg but history can repeat itself, and if we can reverse that plus only one point then the trophy will be ours”. Birmingham are devastated that they are not permitted to use their popular presenter Chris Simpson for the final as he has been suspended facing an SCB Court appearance. Co Owner Alan Phillips said “Chris is the voice of Birmingham Speedway and I know he’s gutted to be denied the chance to present our most historic meeting ever, we will miss him greatly”. However, keeping with the clubs red and yellow theme Birmingham have booked Leicester’s Chris Popple to present the Season Showdown and are sure he will whip the crowd up into a frenzy to help with a final push to glory. Birmingham have a real party night planned to end this terrific season and there will be lots of attractions on the night. One of these is the Andy Meredith Speedway Academy, who will be in attendance in our Fan Zone pre meeting with a Beat The Starter Simulator. Fans can test their reflexes from the tapes on a real speedway bike and the person recording the fast time on the night will win a date at the academy to race a bike with expert tuition. Rohan's rides only got 5 points and Newman got 3, can't see Dyer not scoring 3 at home against the weak,on the night, Birmingham reserves and Rohan is easily capable of 5 anytime.
