krompa 236 Posted March 4, 2014 Emailed BSPA (office@speedwaygb.co and pressoffice@speedwaygb.co) and waiting for reply. Hopefully they will be able to help soon. Thank you krompa. Whether or not you're successful. BSPA emailed on Sunday and the same question asked on Twitter (@SpeedwayGB) but still nothing. Typical.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv 10,706 Posted March 4, 2014 Will there be a lot of swapping places, or will in fact third heatleaders find themselves getting dropped before they gain a new average? A very good point and this is where some extra thought was needed earlier to prevent such potential manipulation. Perhaps when making a change a riders average should be recalculated up to date and the lower of his current or starting average be used. This would stop both the overperforming second string being ditched as soon as his average rises and the underperforming heat leader being ditched just before his average falls.
Had Enough 233 Posted March 4, 2014 Of course under the old 13 heat format 4 and 5 paired up and five had the red or white helmet, and wss usually the heat leader (though I remember the mighty mort having a spell at 4 in the 83 season) As mentioned before, the bulk of the 15 heat format was the old 13 heat format, with 5 and 3 swapped (plus one or two minor tinkerings).
Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted March 4, 2014 Once our josh G has an 8.5 average under the new format, shall we chop him out for Hancock?
BluTiger 21,705 Posted March 4, 2014 Once our josh G has an 8.5 average under the new format, shall we chop him out for Hancock? Only if Hancock gets sacked in Poland again..
stevebrum 6,826 Posted March 4, 2014 Once our josh G has an 8.5 average under the new format, shall we chop him out for Hancock? About as much chance of Piotr topping the EL averages. (or the same chance as Smart seeing out the season with your lot)
oldswindonsupporter 42 Posted March 4, 2014 Given the race format, it is possible unless there is something in place to prevent for one or both of the fast tracked riders to achieve at 6 point average and thus be in the body of the team. Perhaps I have missed something over the last few weeks, but how the averages will be worked out for the fast tracked riders at 6 and 7 during the course of the season or are they always the bottom two in the 1 to 7? Skidder1 7,651 Posted March 5, 2014 The reserves will stay as reserves all season, no matter how they score, unless they are replaced!!!
Fourentee 987 Posted March 5, 2014 Unlike the last couple of years a teams number one can ride at either 1, 3, or 5. This is a definite. So Poole could stick Darcy at 5 as that is the hardest position in the team. However the team positions could become fluid throughout the season depending on which team we are meeting and their lineup positions. Exactly. Who knows, this might encourage the lost art of the team manager.

racers and royals 8,740 Posted March 6, 2014 Pretty sure Poole will only know how the other team are lining up when they are away-the home team I think have to declare riding order first. confirmed in the rulebook. double_O 257 Posted March 6, 2014 The 2014 Rule Book is now available to view: http://www.scbgb.co.uk/pdf/regulations/2014%20SPEEDWAY%20REGULATIONS.pdf I always thought with a draw the away team got 2 points. Do we know why that has changed according to 15.13?
Barrycuda 184 Posted March 6, 2014 Can anyone please explain the following rule regarding guest riders more so for the away team. A GUEST RIDER (G) replaces an absent regular Team Member subject to the following: At Home Meetings, Riders in the top 1-5 (but not Doubling Up Riders) will have their MA enhanced by + 5% to determine the allowance for the Guest Rider. It comments in the above about home meetings and nothing about away meetings guest rider.
Barrycuda 184 Posted March 6, 2014 I always thought with a draw the away team got 2 points. Do we know why that has changed according to 15.13? Indeed 2013 Rules says so. 2 points for a away draw.
