Easy to see which era you are from sidney. :t:

Briggo, PC, Chris Morton, Simmo, Martin Ashby, Jason Crump, Phil Crump, Bengt Jansson, Graeme Smith (Style), Jack Millen (Entertainment). :t::approve:

I'm surprised there is no place in your Top Ten for Michael Lee.

Larry ross, mighty mort, pc, andy smith, the moran brothers, emil safuydinov (the good guys) darcy ward, nicki Pedersen, kenny carter (the villains).

If I was purely going on the "good guys" i'd add declan eccles, bruce penhall and Antonio lindback.

I loved watching them - but - they weren't out of the top drawer like Briggo etc.

I just noticed that neither of us mentioned Mauger - that was NOT a mistake on my part. A great Rider - but - never one of top favourites.

Growing up Charlie Monk was my hero . Dour faced bugger , but what a speedway rider . How Charlie never qualified for a World Final is one of life's mysteries .

Yes - a bit of a misery - but - a terrific Rider. :t:

Another great favourite of mine was Jim Airey. :t::approve: :approve:

A six month ban would be pointless.

He could race next year and currently sits in the top 8 of the GP and may even get a wild card place if he misses out.

Needs to be much longer to have any effect. 9 Months at least.

I was never a fan WK but he did half make a difference to the crowd! some liked to jeer and shout at him but Ivan just took it in his stride what a great rider he was and as a man. Edited by sidney

A top 10 from over 50 years of watching. A difficult call!

But I'll go for Stan (the man) Stevens, Jimmy Gooch, Reg Luckhurst, Malcolm Simmons, Ove Fundin, Ken McKinlay, Dave Jessup, Peter Collins, Mark Loram, Jason Crump (as you can see I didn't go much in the 80s!).

A few from Wimbledon who were fun to watch; Roger Johns, Todd Wiltshire, Kelvin Tatum and Mark Burrows. Andy Galvin as a visiting rider could always cause uproar. Others who were always entertaining; Trevor O'Brien, Chris Morton, Les and Neil Collins and Mark Loram

I've forgotten more riders than I care to remember these days, but off the top of my head in no particular order..

Martin Ashby, Scott Autrey (good choice Sid), Shawn and Kelly Moran, Chris Morton, Ed Stangeland, Rolf Gramstad, Phil Crump, and of today Peter Kildemand, but at No 1 is Geoff Bouchard :t:

Would have picked Darcy too, if he was anyway likeable...

Another who came to mind was Edward Jancarz of Wimbledon. I was reminded whilst watching the GP. A great Rider in my opinion.
