Gavan 5,050 Posted November 21, 2014 From the riders i have watched: Loram Louis Galvin Schofield Havelock Silver Thorp Stonehewer Wilson Those mentioning Cook are having a laugh. Wouldnt make the top 20 of best ever premier league number ones. Look at the class of the riders ive listed and where the majority got to on the world stage. Cook isnt even close. And thats without mentioning the Owens, Lawson , Wilcock, Garrard, Cox, Les Collins, Kennett , Perks. Riders i didnt really see race as was only bout 5 or 6 when they were about. Cook is dominant in an era where the standard is lower than late 80's early 90's so he would not make my top 20

YAMYAMBANDIT 560 Posted November 24, 2014 An argument with Peter Waite over a new van Never saw Joe Owen ride, but his stats are superb. NO HE DID NOT HAVE AN ARGUAMENT WITH PETER WAITE OVER A VAN. The disagreement was when the new promotion took over when Dave Peat was the manager. Adrian wanted to buy the marroon transit van off the butchers, they did not want to sell it, he went to Workington instead. There were all sorts of rumours New Vans, New engines etc. etc. none of which were true, the deal fell through over a very small amount of money, mainly to do with insurance, tyres and fuel. Fromafar 10,363 Posted November 24, 2014 In the modern Pl league it has to be Stoney or Wilson,if you take in old National league there is Joe Owen or Tom.

Fromafar 10,363 Posted November 24, 2014 why did he want to buy a van that was'nt for sale,,, and was someone in Workington selling one in similar colour to his preferred choice ???The one in Workington maybe had a couple of bikes in the back!!!!!
YAMYAMBANDIT 560 Posted November 24, 2014 why did he want to buy a van that was'nt for sale,,, and was someone in Workington selling one in similar colour to his preferred choice ??? The van in question had been loaned out to riders, he thought it would be better to own it than borrow it, so he simply offered a price.
Robinh88 571 Posted November 24, 2014 Well I suppose Dave had a ready made replacement in William Lawson to let Adrian go...
