remembertheracers 171 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Excellent interview in Speedway Star with former Racers team manager and announcer Bob Radford, who like Phil Crump who was always one of my favourite riders, are battling prostate cancer. I wish them both well in their battles ahead and Bob's openness has given at least two men the incentive to get tested and join Men United in the fight against this under publicised cancer that hits so many men. EnglishRoundabout 1,752 Posted March 8, 2015 Crumpy was pure class and a constant thorn in the Swindon side in the middle 70's during his Newport days. Almost unbeatable around Somerton Park. Redford was a brilliant informative announcer. Probably the best I have experienced. Best of British to both for a speedy recovery.

Both blokes are great people, Crump was an awesome rider a real quiet but really nice humane guy, Bob i met through Malc Holloway was really decent and he knew alot about speedway more than 99 per cent of us.

customhouseregular 1,651 Posted March 9, 2015 Very best wishes to both. I hate Cancer. Me too. My father-in-law died of lung cancer aged 61. My Mother-in law had breast cancer aged 63. My children's Godmother died of Leukaemia aged 53 and I was diagnosed with prostate cancer at age 64. Cancer is vile.
