First fixture of the new season. Anyone expect anything other than an emphatic home win?

Not sure if I would say emphatic win, but after watching 3 of our riders taking part in the Ricky Ashworth meeting yesterday I am feeling more and more confident.

Early season - so anything can happen.

It would be great if the Scorpions can make it win No 6 on the trot at Owlerton.

All the best

Rob

Think normality will resume this year with Sheffield returning to being the better of the clubs

I would agree with you SK.

Stead, Bellego and Bates were all hugely impressive yesterday.

Auty and Howe...... not so much.

I would, also, seem to agree though 3 riders do not make a team.

A lack of practice will catch us out early doors as Sheffield have, as far as I know or been told, had closed door practices at the EWR & Owlerton & P&P.

I have only seen Carl & Nike at open practice, David & Theo at our unofficial P&P, Alex & Ellis only just landing in our shores & Josh getting over his finger injury. That saying it seems Josh & Ellis had good 1st meetings for their other clubs last week.

Scunny's wins at Owlerton were mainly due to a combination of Jorgensen and Douglas, neither of whom are currently in the side. Home and potentially away wins for the Sheffield folk.

It's Thursday and a new speedway season so keep an eye on the weather. If the weather is ok i think it will be a easy win for the Tiger's. Especially if Auty is still looking for his contact lens lol.

All I'm saying is if I were Tigger's I would not take too much for granted on Thursday. Stead was in real form on Sunday; but if the Scorps get about the rest of the Tigers line up; there's points to be had. It is bit unpredictable with Lunna and Perks making their team debuts. I think Alex Davies could be a surprise, and Josh knows the way around Owlerton. If Howie; Wilko and Pjiper chip in; then I am optimistic for a good start I really am.

I am confident we will take maximum points but every meeting against Scunthorpe are tough, We do have a team of Owlerton specialists so we could take some stopping !

:) If the Scorpions are doing well, I suggest someone give Josh a big congratulatory slap on the back - he might lose them again
