Poole V Lakeside 8 April

Recommended Posts

Has the hole/ruts in the track now been sorted? Holder wasn't impressed with the track at P & P

The hole that you refer to has been listed as a class II Norbold's Hole and will need planning permission to fill it. See addendum number 3 in the Darcy Ward thread.

Poole track excellent tonight, much much better than last 2 yrs - no bumps, little bit slick and dry after the hot weather, but still fantastic race by North Ht.10

Well done to whoever sorted it out

With all the hot sunshine today expect the track to be slick, dry and dusty - playing right into Lakeside's hands!!

You are turning into a Shovlar wannabee Skidder..

You both predict that whatever weak team turns up at Wimborne Road that the Pirates will need to produce a miracle to win..

So very boring and predictable :nono::nono:

The first half of the meeting - well 6 heats anyway - Lakeside were by far the better team leading 16-20, with 4 of their top 5 registering a heat win. Poole then got their fingers out and banged in 4 successive 5-1s before suffering a 3-5 T/R, before 3 of the last 4 heats were 3-3. The 'miracle' if there was one was in the middle of the meeting and in Heat 10 when Dak chased AJ and finally took him on the final bend of lap 4!!

If anyone is on Speedway updates ProBoards please check that riders scorecard is wrong to heats details in heats 4&5.

2 Josh Grajczonek 2*, 2, 1

4 Kacper Gomolski 1

Heat 4 - Kennett, Gomolski, Newman,Birks. 3-3 (14-10)

Heat 5 - Nilsson, Ellis, Grajczonek, Starke. 1-5 (15-15).

No surprise from me neither. Poole way stronger with Janowski in and looking nigh on unstoppable.

Lakeside were my dark horses pre season but they look like home track specialists only.

Jury still out on Lakeside for me, AJ & Bech are capable of much more so until they get going its difficult to know how strong the Hammers actually are. Hats off to Lawson once again.

Without wishing to sound over confident at the expense of Lakeside, I just couldn't see how we would lose to them at home but I admit to having a bit of a worry with six heats gone and losing at the time 16-20!

Mind you at their place it will be a different story as most teams will find out this season.

Poole have a powerful team who can apply pressure and points when needed but I won't get carried away at such an early time of the season.

That is the key to Lakeside's season - AJ and MB are just not delivering to their capabilities at present.
