Latest Green Sheet Averages

Recommended Posts

Latest Green Sheet Averages have as published on the British Speedway Web Site have Coventry Bees as the lowest overall score 32.67 and Poole Pirates as second lowest 32.70 - the team leading the Elite League followed by the team currently second in the League !!

I know the reasons why ( ie: Kings deleted results for Brummies last year and Gomolski's farcical previous average applies etc ) however that can't be the way to go can it????

Cheers

And Edward Kennett putting nearly 2 points on his average - despite poor away performances - just shows he was on the wrong average for team building - which we all knew!

And nearly 2 points off Holder's average too giving a team total of 32.7 - should be enough to accommodate Darcy to replace North or Magic.

Looking at how Hans Andersens average has gone down, it will make it harder for us to find a guest away from home when he is missing even though he has been in great form

Darcy not back til end of June. Gomolski will be averaging more than 4 by then reducing the extra points available, and 1.3 is not enough to fit ward in anyway. Only way ward will come in as a straight swap is if magic gets his average up to 8.7. Maybe that ward/pawlicki or similar for magic/north may work.

If Holder continues in his current for he will be well below 7 points when the next averages come out and we will be able to get Darcy back.

Would have to be a re-declaration surely, Wards average is higher than any other rider in the Poole line-up & you can only replace a rider with the same or lower average if just a rider swap.

Isn't the actual reason that both Poole and Coventry have strong reserve who's point obviously count towards winning a meeting, but not towards averages?

Not if a team's total points is below 34. Poole effectively have 0.84 in the bank, plus the average of the rider they wish to replace.

Surely by the time ward is introduced back gomolski will have a hugely increased average ??

Just goes to show how important the reserves are & I just hope they show improvement & the clubs show the loyalty to them when they go into the main body of the team.

There should be an average that if they attain it then they can't be a reserve from the season after.

To be fair it shows that Coventry and Poole have been clever picking their sides. I actually think both sides have the strongest top 5 too.

I believe the reserve rule is 2 years max anyway so these guys have to cut it or be thrown on the EL scrap heap.

I dont think thats ever been said. They'll stick with it as long as it suits the promoters. If 20 foreign riders all agreed to ride for £5 a point next season the EL promoters would drop the draft ASAP!

Gomolski's average wont be that high.

Surely it will go up by a point and a half? Which would likely offset any decrease in holder/north. Which won't give enough spare points to get in ward for magic without other change/s.
