SPEEDY69 1,275 Posted July 8, 2015 No it shouldn't. A promoter should always have a right to call off a meeting until a referee or official arrives who is then in charge. It's farcical that a promoter cannot postpone on the day because Sky are in town. Ahh, then I should surely bow to the powers of clairevoyance held by the promoters. The fact at Coventry was that the track was fine for the majority of the 10 heats run. I think they should also be allowed to call off fixtures when they feel their team is weak or they might not attract a good crowd, or they'd rather be somewhere else beacuse if they are able to accurately predict the weather then they possess skills even the Met Office cannot match - they said it wouldn't rain where I am today and it's pi&&ing it down. After the debacle of the 'rain-off' due to riders missing flights in 2013, weren't the BV promotion told that as part of their punishment any future call offs (for at least 2 years?) had to be done by an SCB official?!
