Daniel Smith 5,666 Posted June 2, 2016 " I love this track, it's great" ----Lewis Bridger quoted today on the Lakeside website. Great for him, shame he's not great everywhere else Remember, his Speedway career was built around Eastbourne, he's a trick track specialist. Not an advert for Lakeside I'm never gonna overly enjoy turning yourself inside out Speedway at trick tracks. We all like different things, saying that, and again last night was the best Sky meeting ever from Lakeside

We all like different things, saying that, and again last night was the best Sky meeting ever from Lakeside its all about skill and throttle control. Like to see riders able to adapt and others who just give up because they lack the skill. Nothing more exciting than watching Mark Loram flying round Lynn or Bradford but for me far more skill involved when he used to ride at Lakeside and Eastbourne and he was superb on these smaller tracks. All in the mind in my opinion
Tommy Sweetman 480 Posted June 2, 2016 The word last night was that it was his last match for Wolves. Won't be that easy to replace though, IMOObviously PK is the popular choice with Wolves fans, but not sure if he now fits with his average,or indeed wether he wants to come to the UK on a full time basis. marko 956 Posted June 2, 2016 Now lets get this right. I am NOT a Hammer fan. I used to go a lot to see Arena Essex/Lakeside as it is not far from Kent. I go to some meetings now. I go to see Kent Kings. I still think it is a BAD advert for Speedway these Live meetings that hardly anyone goes and when I have gone before are so spread out with delays. OK . Fair enough but you just answered your own question, when you went before the sky matches can be drawn out, ironically last night the racing concluded with tons of air time left. I think it's important remember Sky do not care if there are people in the stadiums, that doesn't pay them money, people sitting at home paying their Sky subscription does, they are in the main trying to attract a tv audience which is why the product is accordingly so biased towards those at home (replays, interviews etc) than those at the track who have to take a back seat to that. All in the mind in my opinion How many races have you won around lakeside ? When the bikes were abit slower & with upright engines & a well prepared track lakeside was raceable however yesterday was a poor example of speedway unless you had a pair of stevebrum glasses on. ouch 1,191 Posted June 2, 2016 Much like at Monmore I'd fine any of my team that moved off the white line. I enjoy meetings from Lakeside in exactly the same way I use to enjoy Telford ice speedway.

Plenty of people said they liked it. Plenty of others claim they don't like the track but it makes one wonder why they sit and watch it if they don't like it. They must have pretty dull lives away from the telly if they have nothing better to do, or else they must just look for something to moan about. You and try artist formally known as Screamer are on here every week bitching about how awful it is but you still keep watching it. Bizarre.

If you call passing in nearly every heat a poor example of speedway then fair enough.

In your opinion. I thought it was a great meeting and I nearly gave it a swerve as the racing @ Lakeside is normally boring. There was passing in the majority of races and plenty of times there were multiple passes within a race, I would have felt I'd had value for money if I'd attended. Anyway, how many races have you won round Lakeside??
HAMMER180 96 Posted June 2, 2016 A few things how can anyone say lakeside is boring if you went every week then you would know there is always good racing and plenty of over taking, some riders don't like it because its to much like hard work they would rather try to gate and ride round un challenged for 4 boring laps like at most other tracks, as for the track yesterday it wasn't at its best but the amount of rain the day before I think Gerald and the boys did a great job as always Re the crowd always lower when on sky plus the weather the m25 buggered again and being half term some people are lucky enough to be on holiday. and as for jk what a tart slating the whole of lakeside didn't cry when we paid his wages for three odd years. COME ON YOU HAMMERS FEW MORE AWAY POINTS STARTING AT BV AND PLAYOFFS HERE WE COME.

What the hell had me riding at Lakeside got to do with anything!!! I mentioned how I enjoyed watching quality riders adapt!! Darcy Ward loved Lakeside you could hardly call him a trick track expert!!! Riders have to learn to adapt some are beaten before they even start. Wolves is a hard place to master and Lindgren hated it at first but knuckled down and showed he could master it. I'm really unsure of the point your trying to make

A poor example of speedway? Race after race of overtaking, riders going from last to first? Clearly it's you that need the glasses.
