Wolves V Belle Vue 8/8/16

Recommended Posts

Depending on what happens in Poland with Wroclaw and the play offs I expect Tai to be back at Wolves in the next two weeks.

Has to happen soon or the averages won't fit.

Maybe it's why Joonas was so bad tonight? Knows he's getting the sack so getting his average down?

Getting it down for next season, or so that if wolves aren't quick enough he can't be replaced by woffy?

Add woffy to that wolves side and they are a match for anyone, though they still need howarth to start scoring.

Vetlanda & Wroclaw both have a reasonable chance of making the play-offs in there respective leagues, Woffinden has been pretty scathing of British tracks via twitter when he's seen them on TV. Wolves traditionally don't make changes they're not forced into, I would be very surprised if the swap happened.

Vetlanda have very little chance of the play-offs- nowhere anything like reasonable- table http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=82350

Who knows, either? But his current average is now too low to be replace by Woffy, so they have to replace him before the averages change (in the next 2 weeks) but the rules allow the BSPA to give a rider a real time average when making changes if they wish.

Wolves only have 5 meeting left, 4 at home (one a double header) and one at Lynn. He might be happy with them tracks.

So there we have it. Wolves cheating to fit in Woffinden. If for example a Poole rider had scored 0,0,0 after coming second in the SEC on Saturday, with the intention of being swapped out of the team for a bigger rider, who just so happens to have an average so close to the rider that he is replacing that said rider dare not win a heat, there would have been uproar on here. Poole cheats etc etc etc. But not a wisper of anything untoward. Double standards?

Woffinden should be riding EL anyway. Hopefully he will be back full time in 2017.

EL riders have established averages as at 8th August, to be re-issued effective 22nd August. The provision for an average to be assessed on re-declaration applies to an assessed average, not an established one.

It would make a fallacy of the league season to be honest but as you say if Poole pulled the same trick the forum would go into meltdown. Perhaps if man utd qualify for the FA cup final again this season they could draft in Ronaldo in place of Rooney to give them a better chance even though he hasn't played for them all season  . Hopefully though Woofy will return to riding in the UK next season.

Well that was a marker well and truly put down by the Aces. Great performance (Nicholls will finally do my fantasy team a bit of good!!).

So after last week's Wolves defeat at Poole, whoever said Kylmakorpi would have made the Wolves stronger, seriously needs some help!!! :-)

I was just going from memory but you're probably right about the assessed rider thing. Still gives them 2 weeks to make the change.

Indeed now having looked at the fixtures, it seems mission impossible with Masarna hosting Smederna the final week.

I guess that would suit him. With Poole & Belle Vue also cert's for the top two places, he clearly has no objections to the track at the NSS judging by his SWC exploits. Even if Lakeside (the track he seemed to object to the most) do make the play-off's it is unlikely Wolves will visit Purfleet.

Except of course, Joonas scoring low doesn't help get Woffy in.

Woffy would have to be a straight swap for Joonas (or Freddie), so Joonas lowering his average would prevent them from getting Woffy in, not help it - wolves now have two weeks to make the change, if Joonas had scored well there would be no hurry.

I'm sure you knew that of course though Shovvy...

tbf, if a Poole rider had done exactly that, you are right that there would be some idiots claiming exactly what you just did, but not anyone with a brain...

Well done to the Aces a terrific all round performance. As for the speedway what promised to be a blockbuster in front of a good crowd turned into a damp squip. Hardly any passing ,little racing no more than a trapping contest, not good enough ! Think this gives the Aces a free hand in the playoffs with no fear who they will pick, everyone else will be hoping Belle Vue don't pick them.

The track wasnt right last night. Looked like it was over watered a bit. There has been a definite improvement in the racing at Monmore this season compared to the last few years, but it was very poor last night.

Not an excuse though. Belle Vue were simply better on the night than we were.
