fully support the riders in their decision not to race was undoubtedly the right call, most of them were just freewheeling round the bends,as holder said it was impossible to slide, riders strung out over 50yds.not a good advert for any newcomers

So many people turned away again. If this was football there would be a riot but us speedway fans are treated like unworthy dogs. BAH. And as for those bstds health and safety pigs..!!!!!!!

No excuse Mr Ford, no excuse.Fans from all over the country have been saying for years how crap the Poole track is, yet some blue eyed fans (they know who they are) have refuted this. Now will they listen. Rip it up and relay it properly, Speedway in this country is quickly running out of time.

Yet again the "flagship club" of British speedway makes a joke of itself. The riders said on Wednesday they couldn't take to the track as it was bad. Two days later with riders from across the globe it's the same. And people wonder why British speedway isn't taken seriously. Absolute shambles!

Wow! Poole has always been a bad track. When your riders state this you need to listen. Isn't the first time & wont be the last. Take those blue tinted glasses off for a moment.

Track looked absolutely fine when I arrived at 6.30. But the damage had clearly already been done earlier this week with the heavy rain.

No way would anyone have wanted to call off this meeting with riders travelling from all over europe and obviously the hope was that the water table was low enough for the water to have drained away. Unfortunately it hadn't. On Wednesday after noon the teack was a quagmire and for the first time in years P&P couldn't go ahead. 48 hours later the track just wasn't ready.

The racing we did see was pretty good. First bend was the main issue which got worse as the meeting went on. Water rose to the surface and riders struggled to turn there. All disappointing but the right call. Not sure if using a tyre packer on a wet track is sensible though. Surely that would bring water to the surface.

A huge crowd so the main objective was done. Raising a lot of money for Darcy and in that respect a big success.

Hopefully the rain will now stay away and the track will now have a proper chance to dry out before the visit of Wolves next Wednesday.

Think the 4 letter word that comes out of a dogs arse should replace the dog part of dog hole

There can be no excuse for what happened last night. Poole must be THE worst track in the league. We travelled 400 ml round trip 2 years ago to see the play-off semi final only to be greeted witha masive hole magically appeared on the first corner. We were told of some unfortunate mishap happens but there was no materials availible to even make good. I said then I would never visit Wimbourn Road .

It appears nothing has changed. Their track, their preparation, their responsibility are all rubbish.. When episodes like this happen it does immense damage to our sport and to those who follow it. There can be no excuse for what happened last night

Post note: The AFA has been open now for some weeks, and riders have been practising almost daily. Surely its was not too much to expect that Poole should have made certain their track was racable....

Is this the infamous 'hole in first bend'? Mark my words, Matt Ford will be on his bike within 2 years!

It will be a shame if it takes that long.

Perhaps Mr Ford can't afford to spend a lot of money in repairing the track after spending big money to riders to risk there necks on it every week.

Message to the Poole promotion. You may have chosen to ignore complaints about the track in the past, or just fiddle round the edges of the problem, but you need to listen to the words of Chris and Darcy from last night and ACT NOW to get the circuit in to a proper condition.

Wimborne Road does produce good speedway, but it could be even better if the track issues were sorted once and for all.

I would suggest deferring the Coventry challenge on 19 April and get the work done immediately after Good Friday and before the U21's on 26 April.

That interview with Ward and Holder albeit totally true it seems, is utterly cringeworthy, deary me, are they a bit thick in Poole?
