Ellis will have offers I'm sure.

On a 7+ average which would see him riding as a heatleader?

A ridiculous situation for the lad. The bspa are wrecking the career of a fine British prospect by saddling him with an average too high.

His average should be adjusted down by the management committee so he can get a team berth somewhere.

His average is right, he achieved it mainly as a 2nd string. The likes of Garrity and Worrall are way over 8 so it's likely Ellis would've averaged between 7-8 in the PL anyway. Team could get him in as a 2nd string if they build there team right.

But somewhere else there will be another rider who misses out on a team place - tough as it is on Adam I don't think you can start making any exceptions. Don't forget these average rules and limits are the only way the top league could have attracted the clubs required to keep it viable.

Most people on here are thinking that a rider with 7 or an 8 is too high. But we need to address the thinking of the top riders. riders like JD; CH, NKI are all averaged way above the 12 point ceiling, so when looking at people like Ellis, Garrity and similar they need to be of a proportion of that enlarged figure.

So 7 for a decent 2nd string is not that high........

Agree 7 would be fine. But he has been given nearly 8. There are more experienced riders available with lower averages than Adam.

Agreed. I can understand fans saying it's not an attractive average but that's his level now. Of course he will lose a bit of that average but so will the vast majority of riders. I'd be shocked if he didn't get a spot.

But that's because they had a poor season, Ellis was better than them last season.

You can't go round reducing the averages of certain riders, rules are rules. In any case I think he would have averaged nearly eight in the PL last season bearing in mind the form he was in for Poole and internationally.

Or Poole could've kept him, of course they couldn't possibly do that! Edited by Trees

Exactly. If Poole thought he was that good and had lots of potential then they could have kept him on a 7average. Why should rules be changed for them.

They are lucky Newman is so poor in the PL and still only on a 6 average as they wouldn't have kept him if on a 8+ one

Last season you kept harping on about how good Ellis is and how close he is to being as good as R.Lambert.So should Lambert get a reduction on his 8.76 average, because clearly it would be wrecking the career of a fine British prospect.I don't think you would want to see that would you, unless he was to ride for Poole of course.

Agree 7 would be fine. But he has been given nearly 8. There are more experienhced riders available with lower averages than Adam.

And what about Ritchie worrall. garritty. Bjarne. All on significantly higher averages than Ellis.

7 would be below howarth.

Fact is Ellis is on a fair average. not a bargain.but not too high either.

Remember, on average every rider will drop 16% this season. So on a 7.8 you need Ellis to average 6.5 ish to represent decent value. He is more than capable of doing that
