TheReturn 1,724 Posted October 5, 2016 Grow up craig cook. Don't be so stupid. He is gutted. Do you really want a rider to be cheerful and happy and not caring less that they lost?? We have too many mercenary riders in British speedway, so it's nice to see someone genuinely caring that his team lost.
BobC 664 Posted October 5, 2016 The difference tonight was simply one rider......PK. Right out of the top drawer and an absolute joy to watch, just as he has always been. Legend is an over used word, but it fits PK very nicely. Had hoped for an Aces win, but Wolves just that little better when it mattered. Well done Wolves.
Bleeds Pirate Blue 192 Posted October 5, 2016 Great interview with Craig Cook. That's passion for your team.
Mr Blobby 2,662 Posted October 5, 2016 Grow up craig cook. What a ridiculous comment to make it.
screm 8,057 Posted October 5, 2016 Great interview with Craig Cook. That's passion for your team. Over the two legs Cook didn't deserve to be on the losing team, great effort in both legs of the Final.
Gavan 5,050 Posted October 5, 2016 Well said Kelvin Tatum 'the Poole team change their team to win titles'. Spot on and this year someone else did it yet some Poole fans moan totally priceless sore losers.
tellboy 3,662 Posted October 5, 2016 Just need about another 10 tracks like Belle Vue's now and TV will get the crowds coming back with racing like that.
Pirates Of Poole 761 Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) Excuse me?? Don't brand me Gavan with that brush!! All teams are in it to win, if they arnt there is no point turning up. Wolves got it right this year with the change. Edited October 5, 2016 by Pirates Of Poole
TheReturn 1,724 Posted October 5, 2016 Just need about another 10 tracks like Belle Vue's now and TV will get the crowds coming back with racing like that. Spot on. If British Speedway had more tracks like Belle Vue and Kings Lynn then the sport would be far more enticing.
mikebv 10,292 Posted October 5, 2016 Over the two legs Cook didn't reserve to be on the losing team, great effort in both legs of the Final. Certainly has a bit of an 'old fashioned' attitude does Cook... ie winning for your team is very important to him and its not just all about turn up, put in an individual performance, earn as much as you can and then off to your next pay cheque... A few more Cookies wouldn't go amiss in British Speedway..
STEPHEN 333 58 Posted October 5, 2016 Yes Belle Vue lost this title on Monday night with a very poor performance at Wolves, eighteen points was far too much to make up, doubt if they could have made that amount of point up against either Poole or Swindon if they had been riding in the final instead of the Wolves, but congratulations to the Wolves team, they deserved it over the two legs, bring on the Elite League Shield at the beginning of next year and this is coming from a Aces fan. You haven't been to King's Lynn for a while have you? Racing has been pony there for a few years now. Only Leicester worse in the EL.
crumpiefan 44 Posted October 5, 2016 This isn't sour grapes - Wolves were simply better than us over the two legs - but it is frustrating to finish top over a whole season only to come up short at the end. Dare say if BV had won last season I would think differently but its not a particularly satisfactory way to end a season. Reminds me of 2005 when the exact same thing happened.....oh well never mind....it'll come good one day! PS farewell to PK - great rider and great bloke. You WILL be missed
TheReturn 1,724 Posted October 5, 2016 You haven't been to King's Lynn for a while have you? Racing has been pony there for a few years now. Only Leicester worse in the EL. No. As it got worse then, track changed or just not being prepared? Only been 4 or 5 times in person, but always enjoyed and those seen on Sky been good too. But to be fair not seen much there over last year or so.
