Firstly, I know Mark Lemon has managed team affairs but when has he ever been in a position to gain a promoters license? Which, secondly, begs the question of who the BSPA licensed promoter will be who will be holding the reigns at Belle Vue?

He will be shadowed by a more experienced promoter. That's how it normally happens

It will be similar to when new Leicester opened.... David Hemsley and Alan Jones were the promotors, neither had done it before, and we had Eric Boocock in an almost supervisory promoter role...

Thank goodness RS is wealthy as the old maxim definitely still applies to speedway. If you want to make a million out of speedway - start with five million.

So is George Carswell still involved as the 'official' promoter or was he part of one of the 'unapproved' consortia?

Very disappointed that George is not involved.

Equally if Richie is not in the side , that is equally disappointing as he stood by Belle Vue over the winter.

I think Ritchie new average of 8.49 makes it hard to accommodate him , hopefully we'll see him back at BV , maybe next year ?

Now this is another situation of speedway shooting its own foot off, in fact, shooting both legs off, and an arm, and both ears and nose!!!

Breaking up a team because of an average not fitting..

A rule needs bringing in, that if you retain riders, from season to season, averages don't come into it...

There must be a way for this to work.. keeping riders season to season...

Fans can get really attached to riders in their team, but the team is then forced to get rid, to comply with rules.. Got to be a way to reward club/rider rider/club loyalty..??

BEEN saying that for decades. There is no continuity of teams now which is bad for fans too. One minute Joe Bloggs is your favourite rider, the next he is off somewhere else through no faults of his own.

Any rider who returns to a club should get a 5% average reduction, and a further 5% for ever one of their first 10 seasons.

I agree. Can't see why they can't give a 5% or 10% average deduction for a rider retained from the previous season. Rider has to have ridden 50% of previous season's league fixtures to qualify.

I know it's a different league, but Newcastle (in the SGB Championship) have brought back 6 of last season's 7 for 2017. Similarly, Scunthorpe are bringing back the whole 7 who finished 2016! So it does happen occasionally!!

This reduction for loyal riders is a good idea. but a lot more thought must be put into it first because you could finish up with very strong teams and very weak ones. I like to see close matches as I am sure most supporters would agree. But it is a pity that good riders are frozen out especially British riders.

Unfortunately for Ritchie he is handicapped by having a 8.49 average due to the mess made of the averages with protected heats, and the change in that the riders Premier league average from 2016 would be used in team building in 2017.

It has always been the case that rule changes brought in by the BSPA have resulted in riders having to move clubs, with the aim in mind to equalise team strengths.

The new promotion must be allowed to build the strongest team, in their opinion, under the new regulations.

The one thing that appears not to have been done is to inform Ritchie if he is not required this year, by Belle Vue.

We have lots of continuity at Lynn And if it wasn't for the bloody Poles we would've had even more continuity for the coming season
