Blackadder 280 Posted October 9, 2016 What were the fisticuffs all about? If the reason wasn't obvious, maybe it was something that was said. Josh punched the pits wall at Leicester once, because he was verbally belittled by an opponent.(The wall won).
TheScotsman 2,484 Posted October 9, 2016 Don't think so Gazc. You're being very diplomatic. Astute choice of guest taking full advantage of the rules won. Don't blame the Rebs at all - it's the rules that are at fault.
Shadders 4,135 Posted October 9, 2016 (edited) Is it fair that a rider whose average has been earned in a top five all season can guest for one who has spent the vast majority of his at reserve? Been far too many meetings just recently won by the team who can choose the best guests. Discuss. Scunthorpe recently used Bates as a guest at reserve at Rye in place of Carl Wilkinson. He scored 14 from 7. Luckily it didn't matter that day. Edited October 9, 2016 by Shads

Maybe but thats the rules some go for you some go against you just have to accept it twice Somerset guests have won them a meeting at Glasgow there management deserve credit in being astute in there choices.

I think there is a good argument that a reserve can only be replaced by another reserve as a guest. Didn't take a genius to work out that Bates was going to have a field day today. damosuzuki 696 Posted October 9, 2016 Best team won, we had a couple of let downs but Somerset are a class outfit. Roll on next week. Really looking forward to welcoming Bates back next week, wee dick.

Totally agree with you yet again !...looks like a guest (reserve) from a main team placing can win you you the cup. When are the "authority's" going to think these things through. Also how ridiculous is it that Coles who rode for Ipswich against Rebels only a few days ago, rides for the rebels today, wouldn't happen in any other sport..its farcicle

Unfortunately it's right, the rules are at fault for this, as has been said many times the rulebook is a crock of shyte
Cliffeboy 577 Posted October 9, 2016 Great stuff from our lads today, totally didn't expect that from Bates , so respect to him. You see Tigers we are the real deal when we have all 7 on show. I think there is a good argument that a reserve can only be replaced by another reserve as a guest. Didn't take a genius to work out that Bates was going to have a field day today.Identical averages BWD and Josh.
JCookie 753 Posted October 9, 2016 Yes I remember that!! Stupid little boy!! With all the rumours about him, Garrity and other Sheff riders along with countless other incidents including today, it makes you wonder what sort of idiot Bates really is.
New era Panthers 2,055 Posted October 9, 2016 Totally agree. The guest system is a farce especially in away matches. Teams should never be stronger with a guest than they would with their own rider. If you have an injury in the team that's bad luck but shouldn't make you stronger. I can see your point but nobody would be discussing this if he'd have had an average or nightmare meeting, it's sods law really.
