weatherwatcher 664 Posted January 31, 2017 I am not at all surprised at this outcome. When they had the talk in with Buster, he sort of dropped the hint that if the right person came forward to take over the club, if that person was right, then he would gladly hand over the reigns. Looks like it has happened sooner rather than latter. Not a bad move on Leicesters behalf. Now we just need to see tthe team.
Hamish McRaker 601 Posted January 31, 2017 He is OK with the old Premier league level teams, not so hot in the old elite League... Perhaps we need a foreign manager, Marek Cieslak perhaps? Claudio Ranieri? Soon be looking for a new job

If we're getting a football manager can we get Leonardo Ulloa to ride at number 1? He's looking for a new club

The Third Man 2,217 Posted January 31, 2017 What about Eric Boocock for team manager. Yes please, keep him away from Sheffield
Cross Roads 51 Posted January 31, 2017 What about Eric Boocock for team manager. What about Simon Stead or Ollie Allan both young enthusiastic for the sport and connected to the generation riding today well respected and within the media spot light... mind you what's Mr Atwood up to now days seemed a decent guy from the early days. Gemini 4,894 Posted January 31, 2017 Steve I think more often than not you usually post some quite good stuff on here, but these two posts look way off the mark. He just likes to stir things up a bit to get a response does Steve. You should know that by now.

Steady is managing Sheffield. He is OK with the old Premier league level teams, not so hot in the old elite League... Perhaps we need a foreign manager, Marek Cieslak perhaps? Could well be Marc Bates, completing his training with Boocock alongside guiding him through.
beckettlion 195 Posted January 31, 2017 As long as it's not Norrie Allen, as he seems to have alienated the vast majority of riders involved in British speedway

Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted January 31, 2017 Yes, I was thinking that. Glory in the problems that others are having, only one on here then a muddler. Thought you were better than that. If you think for one moment I would glory in the problems of others you don't have a clue about me.
Honey Monster 47 Posted January 31, 2017 Damian Bates will be on BBC Radio Leicester at 6.30 http://www.bbc.co.uk/radioleicester[/quote. Anyone know what he had to say? Yes, he owns all the stadium and the surrounding land. Looking at riders not doubling up or down. As other club would get priority over rider. A couple of names in the frame for team manager. Didn't say who. No mention of track alterations. Sounded quite confedent about us. Cov only to be there for 4-6 matches but could be back at Brandon before the start of the season. Leicester to get priority over Cov. Cov will have to work around Leicester, with fixtures. That was about it.
stevethelion 192 Posted January 31, 2017 Damian Bates will be on BBC Radio Leicester at 6.30 http://www.bbc.co.uk/radioleicester[/quote. Anyone know what he had to say? He said that himself & Dave Darcy were working on the team first before deciding on a manager. He was hoping to sign 5 riders who weren't riding for other clubs because Lions wouldn't have priority, because of declaring late. Saturday night is still main race night, but there might have to be the odd meeting on a different day. He expects Coventry to need BP between 4-6 times & that they would have to work around Lions fixtures. When asked what the situation was regarding the team, stadium & land, he said he was responsible for it all. I think that about covers it.
