Mr Blobby 2,662 Posted May 18, 2017 The Newcastle diamonds the visitors this week, were we will be looking to put another 3 points on the board. Little changed in the riding order again with Mark Riss going to 2 and josh going to 4. The diamonds will be without Robert lambert and his place is taken by Aaron Summers. Newcastle will be no pushovers with their top 4 all capable of Winning races and backed up by former monarch in Morris. Can see us winning this one by 10. Teams for Friday: Edinburgh 1. Ricky Wells 2 Mark Riss 3. Erik Riss 4. Josh Pickering 5. Sam Masters 6. Max Clegg 7. Mitchell Davey Newcastle 1. Aaron Summers (G) 2. Ashley Morris 3. Lewis Rose 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5. Stevie Worrall 6. Ben Hopwood 7. Connor Coles

Mr Blobby 2,662 Posted May 18, 2017 (edited) Well he was meant to be. Seems the BSPA have changed their mind last minute. Thomas Jorgensen takes his place Edited May 18, 2017 by Mr Blobby

Ned Kelly 41 114 Posted May 18, 2017 Surely Worrall is a Belle Vue asset? He would always be racing for the Aces ahead of Newcastle, wouldn't he?
DiamondGlory 58 Posted May 18, 2017 (edited) A rider from my other favourite team (Aaron) guests for us and i don't even get to go to the meeting. Typical... Anyone fancy taking my place at college tomorrow? Anyway, I reckon we'll take a point at least. Draw if we're lucky. TheScotsman 2,483 Posted May 18, 2017 Surely Worrall is a Belle Vue asset? He would always be racing for the Aces ahead of Newcastle, wouldn't he? Don't think he was "always" racing for the Aces. It seemed the common view around CL folks and Aces supporters that he was riding at Armadiddle. Is there a charge that the BSPA are bringing the sport into disrepute or have they been doing that for donkeys years so it would be thrown out?

I do remember someone talking about the diamonds team and saying "it's nearly a full English team, so there should be no riders missing for meetings" The 1 and 5 beg to differ, apparently.
StevePark 2,783 Posted May 18, 2017 Surely Worrall is a Belle Vue asset? He would always be racing for the Aces ahead of Newcastle, wouldn't he? Not what I was told. Because Belle Vue were "in limbo" at the start of the season, when the Diamonds signed Stevie, he was an asset of the BSPA and were told that they (Newcastle) would have preference over any team that Stevie signed for in the Premiership. It seems, yet again, that the "goal-posts have been moved."
soupy 556 Posted May 18, 2017 Well that is one less at the turnstiles on Friday and will go to Scunthorpe on the bank holiday Monday instead now...
SCB 0 Posted May 18, 2017 Not what I was told. It seems, yet again, that the "goal-posts have been moved." Well that was crap. Swindon sign BWD very late on as a replacement but still got priority over Peterborough for his services. Why would Newcastle have some special case over Worrall/BV?
bringbackHalifax 238 Posted May 18, 2017 It would seem the control board have overruled the BSPA agreement Just happened to be the day before Newcastle are at Edinburgh Who besides Vatcher is the other promoter on the SCB............ Alex Harkness Just a coincidence
TheScotsman 2,483 Posted May 18, 2017 Leave it out. Alex and Gordon Pairman represent the BSPA at the SCB.
Paulco 7,080 Posted May 18, 2017 This just illustrates the shambles speedway is in with doubling up out of control .
