Rye V Swindon 5/08/17

Recommended Posts

Just looked at updates from Swindon v Leicester match tonight and it's saying Eddie Kennett to guest for Swindon on Saturday, he might not have scored many for Rye away but he certainly knows his way around Rye House track and he will probably be aiming for a maximum after being dumped. Could be a very interesting evening if it's not rained off.

Hopefully Rye House will get Rohan Tungate to replace KK

Not eligible. Has to be a rider who has never reached a 4pt championship average, basically a NL rider novice. European SEC not a FIM recognised meeting so no facility for KK allowed.

After going to speedway since 1970 another rule I didn't know about, is it me or is it speedway?

If we can sneak through this one the playoffs are really on big time,

It's a relatively new 4 round competition, final round 16/09 made up of mainly European riders, Kai Huckenbeck and Kenneth Bjerre are also completing in it.

Really? I'm pretty sure it's not new that you cannot get a replacement for a rider competing in a non FIM individual meeting overseas? SEC specifically the rule (no favility) has been the same for the last 4 or so seasons

These two Eddie Kennett and Danny Ayres should be good guests for the Robins, Eddie knows his way round Rye and Danny, after a period of not doing too well seems recently to have picking up his scores.

The actual Robins are all going well.

Can this be 11 wins on the trot ?

Danny beat Wells, Robson and Harris when riding at Rye for Leicester earlier in the season.

Even the most one-eyed optimist (there's a few at Rye House) couldn't argue against that

Agreed and should be a good reserve guest, most of his scores seem to have been low this season and when Zach was first injured I looked at riders averages and I was surprised his average was so low after his showing and score in the meeting he had at Swindon last season . His scores recently seemed to have picked up a bit, so he could be a good guest for this meeting.

Historically that's why the BSPA haven't 'recognised' the SEC (or the Pairs, run by the same Polish Promoter) and don't allow British riders to take part. They argue its to protect Saturday tracks from losing their top Brits. Obviously no control over Swedes, Danes or Poles competing in it - but Rye would have known that before signing KK

Then all that is left is a Buster Chapman "rain dance"

Could Ayres have ridden for Rye? Not sure if he would have been allowed.
