Bt Sport Coverage

Recommended Posts

It appears that they have paid BT or someone the contracted money and BT have picked up the broadcasting rights this year who pay the filming and broadcasting costs, not sure about 2018.

SKY paid the BSPA to cut short their contract. The BSPA to the best of my knowledge have part-funded BT's production costs this year. The best the BSPA can hope for in 2018 is for BT to pay the production costs in full.

Is that because the bspa have not planned ahead and have spent all the money. No wonder they can afford having their conference abroad again this year, this lot could not run a p#ss up in a brewery.

THE BSPA divvy the money up between the tracks and they spend it on riders' wages ... just like Premiership football only on a much, much smaller scale.

Well if btsports aren't willing to pay for the production costs next year it looks like goodbye league speedway on tv

This is the problem when the sport is run by those who were going to gain out of the deal.

Other sports that got TV deals spent some of the money on improving their product, and insisted that some of the money given to the clubs had to be spent on youth development and stadia improvements.

Such a shame that most of the money ended up in the bank accounts of foreign riders and some of it wasn't put aside to help our youngsters improve, as we witnessed over the weekend, our boys need some help.

According to BSPA site both meetings being shown.

That could be a very encouraging sign for next year - BT being prepared to take the extra costs and gamble on what could be a difficult match to 'sell' if it's anything like last week's Stars performance at Rye House. Let's hope it pays off,

On your last point.

Yes the so called BSPA were quick off the mark to promote our young lads had arrived in Poland, but correct me if I'm wrong but no a peep out of them in news as to how well or as it tuned out how badly they had done in finishing last. Why not at least post some lines on a brave effort against better rivals rather than try to bury it as if it never existed.

The bottom line is that it only highlights how far behind the others UK really is. The Poles are light years ahead of UK and get a reality check. UK will NEVER compete. There is not the investment or interest or sponsorship/promotion. We may get the odd rider who will do well like Lambert but imo even he will never scale the heights. Lets not forget this lad raced in Germany etc as under aged even before signing for KL as a youngster legally allowed to ride EL. I think he will be an above av UK rider but World class?? - Not convinced despite his U19/21 performances in Europe. Note Europe not the World.

Now the young Aussies and Danes are ahead of our boys in performance and probably ability imo.

Sunday was almost a wipe out for our lads and just showed how far behind we are. Lambert was ok but even he is way behind the Poles and some Aussies imo.

Yes our lads need major investment but even if we had all the tools in place it will be years before we get to these guys levels. That will never happen so we will have to make do with being bottom of the pile for a lot longer.
