who knows , only kyle knows, he  may have even had the odd swig on the way up to the meeting to combat the cold/injury aches .

And was he under the influence of Night Nurse when at Birmingham earlier this month he went to the starting gates without putting his gloves on(for which he was excluded).

and that's only right, as am sure nurses have to wear gloves, incase you catch a disease off them.

Question on the rules regarding Howarth not actually taking the guest booking.

How can Edinburgh be allowed to use the R/R facility when a rider fails to take his place at the last minute for a non speedway incident? ( Family emergency)

Cant find a reason they should have been allowed R/ R , should it not have been a no facility situation and therefore only the reserves allowed to cover his absence?

answers on a postcard please.

You don’t really believe the “family incident story”.He either refused a drugs or failed a drugs test on the night is nearer the truth

Don't really believe it but the question still stands.

I can't see why they were allowed R/R ?

The Referee must have known the real reason he was not allowed to ride, and gave a decision under the rules.

Because they did not have a guest ,is the obvious answer.A guest or R/r were the options.

Referees have a history of not knowing all the rules.

A ref was informed of a rule infringement at one of last nights fixtures, his reply was ' oh let's just get on with it, time is dragging on and he won't win the race anyway !"

I asked two promoters today there understanding of the situation and both said the rule book states no facility for R/R.

I’d put any money on it they didn’t say that...

R/R is a facility. Your comment then means “no facility for a facility” which doesn’t mage sense. Edinburgh had the option of a guest or R/R as long as only one rider was missing and the rider was in the top three in the averages. If you book a guest and he doesn’t turn up or isn’t available for any other reason, then you revert to R/R.

Read the rule book.

A rider doesn't turn up with a team having been declared is classed as no facility situation. R/ R has to be applied for and approved as the missing riders absence has to be covered under the existing exemptions, leaving for a family crisis is not covered.

You can't change your declaration at the last minute to suit.

but obviously they did!

But if it was not a "family crisis" & just the absence of a guest,it would surely revert to R/R.

No....it's simply a rider not turning up!.... No facility for R/R.
