Terry 1,319 Posted July 13, 2019 I think Gavan's only connection to speedway is his Uncle chucking a few quid into the Hackney pits at Mark Loram, (I'm sure he's mentioned it once or twice!) I'd say when Mark retired he developed a weird obsession with Poole speedway.

Think you may well find he was invented for one purpose only,,, to troll Poole fans and threads. Bang on. As much as Shovlar winds people up and is the poster everyone loves to hate , Gavan is non stop on the Poole thread making a fool of himself , getting worked up and trying to wind up the Poole fans. He is more of a troll than anyone on this forum. So its amusing to see him so quiet after last weeks result . I agree that the Ippo fans are a decent bunch on here apart from Gavan , whether he is a real fan or not remains to be seen.

Very rare for Ipswich to get one over Poole so they will be shouting from the rooftops come 9.30, regardless of Poole’s team strength tonight. Rare maybe......but we picked the right match On 7/11/2019 at 9:11 PM, Steve Shovlar said: Just been riding above themselves. Which was good but met the patched up Pirates tonight and melted like a mivvie in the sun. Shudder to think what the real Pirates would have managed. The real Pirates wilted under the pressure On 7/11/2019 at 9:16 PM, Pinny said: Patched up weakened Poole side giving a full strength Ipswich a beating in their back yard . Can never write Poole off no matter what. Yes you can On 7/11/2019 at 9:36 PM, Steve Shovlar said: Newman. 0,0,0 Big track specialist there. Wells had a good meeting he owed that after what happened on Monday. Doolan did OK. Better than Ipswich reserves but ran a couple of lasts. A full strength Pirates would have done probably even better. A full strength Pirates got done easily On 7/11/2019 at 10:05 PM, Steve Shovlar said: Perhaps complacency had set in. The Witches just thought all they had to do was turn up and Pirates would just roll over. Or perhaps they have been riding above themselves and tonight reality cut back in? Or perhaps Pirates are lucky to have the best manager in the business who can motivate a team not expected to win. Middlo is a very good man manager and knows just how to get the best out of a team. Whilst it was an impossible task on Monday, the Ipswich track is more similar to Wimborne Road in shape and size. He got them fired up from the start and determined to battle for every point. Perhaps Hawkins hasn’t yet got that ability? Perhaps complacency had set in. The Pirates just thought all they had to do was turn up and Witches would just roll over.
