Would make a good pre season warm up in early March.

BUT Can you imagine how you'd have been laughed at for suggesting this 10 years ago?

Yes, of course, :D but times are changing and France v Great Britain would now make a pretty good international match. The French have made very good progress.

Following on from all the recent hullabaloo you would think Dan Bewley would be registering wins in this company even if it was a track he had never ridden before

First / early meetings often throw up surprise results and scores, makes you wonder what kit he was using, if it was misbehaving and how hard he was chucking the bike into the bends or if he was easing himself back in. Especially on a circuit new to him. I don't tend to read too much into such early scores.

News today from Morizes about the 2023 season

Speedway League starts in 2023 with a new format.
4 Teams, 4 Games, 1 Final, 5 Drivers.
1st match at Morizes on Sunday  February 26th

We know the 4 teams taking part - Marmande, Morizes, La Reole and Val De Guyenne( Wembley Lion a track you will need to visit ? :))

What isn`t clear yet is what the format is- 4 team tournament (Danish SF and Final racecard) with each team holding a round and maybe the leading team getting to host the final ?

Ligue Nationale de Speedway schedule- final apparently is between top 2 teams after the 4th round, presumably held at the top team.
1st round - February 26 (Morizes)
2nd round - March 19 (Marmande)
3rd round - April 2 (La Reole)
Round 4 - April 23 (Miramont-de-Guyenne)
Final - date and location to be determined

In the 2023 regular season of the Ligue Nationale de Speedway there will be four four-legged matches, naturally each will be played on a different track. 4 points will be awarded for a win, 3 for second, 2 for third and 1 for fourth. Then the two highest-ranked teams will go to the final match (unlike the competition systems we know, it will not be a two-legged match), which will be played at the stadium of the leader of the table.

The rules of selecting players for the squad in France also have their own specificity and, as in Poland, there are imposed restrictions here, which must be followed when determining the match line-up. There are five riders in one team. Each of them is assigned to one of the groups (A or B). The composition may include a maximum of two from the first group (and it includes the top 200, according to local activists, speedway riders in the world) and, consequently, from two to four from group B. In addition to them, it is obligatory to field one French rider belonging to to category B

The match consists of 22 heats, the last three of which are nominated heats. In the first nineteen riders from numbers 1-4 appear on the track four times, while speedway rider no. 5 has three starts to complete.
