Wednesday 7th September - play off - Poole v Plymouth

Recommended Posts

Just seen lineups. I get you want to win but FFS this is supposed to be the pinnacle of the league and the peak of the season. But rather than wait a week you'd rather run up a cricket score against what is barely an NDL side? Think I'll pass even watching it on BSN

You think Plymouths inability to put together a competitive team is Danny Fords fault? You can’t make this sh*t up! Plymouth fans running around blaming Poole for Plymouths injury and drug crisis!

We can blame the Poole track for 2 of the teams injuries this season .

Steve… Surely, even you can see this is wrong with Zero entertainment value.. Combined GSA of 22.29 + R/R… Tantamount to standing around the edge of the playground chanting “fight, fight” as the Class bully hands out a thrashing… Any Pirate Pride in this?

It’s hardly Poles fault that Plymouth are struggling to put aTeam together, your complaining at lack of  home fixtures at your Club.Poole are just wanting continuity and get the season finished. The whole fixtures issue is a farce this season, arranging fixtures around Riders foreign commitments is what is causing the trouble.Riders dictating the sport to their own benefit is the main cause .IMO.

Never said it was Poole's fault, pointing out that it's an uncompetitive fixture impossible to promote. This situation has nothing to do with foreign riders though, been decimated by injuries but as was suggested Poole used their alternative night of Friday a more competitive side would surely be available given only other fixture is Redcar and Edinburgh.

Why are riders not wanting to guest for Plymouth then. What other GB fixtures are on tonight.

Danny was sat with Garry May last Wednesday looking for possible guest options. Some were unavailable  some wanted more than Plymouth were prepared to pay. Some had simply made other arrangements as their season had finished.

Can we? I don’t think so. Poole’s track is smooth and the riders are loving it. Great praise last month from all riders at the Championship meeting and Middlos testimonial. Can’t think of a single rider who has been injured this season at Poole due to the track.

On to tonight and it’s all systems go! No rain currently forecast, with the risk of showers around 9pm so the meeting will be pushed through. The early morning watering it received should make the track perfect. Looking forward to a good evenings entertainment.

Come on you Pirates!

Tell me whose available for them? Sedgy is at Birmingham, so is most of Scunthorpe. You'd need to ask Leon why he's not available. Spud probably not available due to work commitments. Wells allegedly retired. Whose left? Batch probably wanted too much money. Any of them riding abroad...

Why would Poole want to ride on an off race night to appease the opposition? It’s a competition and up to the opposition to put out a competitive team. I am sure they tried to and Gary May is a top bloke and would have done his best to attract riders.

Its worth saying that Plymouth could have avoided Poole had they got their track sorted and beaten Glasgow. Burning straw is not the recommended way to dry out a track. Perhaps investing, like Poole did, in a trackman, might have averted tonights clash.
