It’s been confirmed on the speedwaygb website that we have signed Lambert and he rides tonight.  Wow

Don't agree with it but that just sums up British Speedway.

Let's see if he sticks around for next season.

I hope Belle Vue have someone to put his bikes in his van for him......

His van was ready waiting for him at Luton airport. Shame BSPA didn't stand strong but probably thinking he might come back next season if they allow this move

he was probally told b/vue are still in discussion with BSPA to get Lambert and his services would be on stand by  ? so it might not have been told 100% he was riding ??

So what is Lambert's average ?

Mistakes like this shouldn’t happen, especially when the rules are clear. Petty jealousies cloud the issue with board members making decisions to suit their own team. Whilst it‘s frustrating that BSF members spout spiteful incorrect rubbish, to have the BSPL committee doing so is unacceptable and the main reason why the sport is dead.

Decided long ago Speedway’s a joke, just go to watch the racing now, too many loopholes & made up rules to be taken seriously.

So to summarise, Belle Vue read the rulebook wrong, and BSPL/SCB refused the change. But Robert Lambert complains about it on social media, at which point they don't want to upset him in case he quits Team GB and have now broken their own rules.  Does this pretty much sum it up?

Thought he would of joined Paul being the best team and all?

Another decision damaging the integrity of speedway. Even if it is within the rules, and they normally can be adjusted to suit, to be allowed to sign a rider who has not ridden over here all year is wrong.

If Belle Vue do go on to win the title, it will be a hollow victory, and that is from a BV fan.

No Belle Vue read the rule book correctly, lambert was approved, some complained and BSPL pulled the approval, Belle Vue appealed with a legal team and won the appeal, as the read the rules correctly

Got to love Speedway and its rule book, eh?

What is the point of having a rule that specifically prevents this if it is then overridden?

Yes, there is also a "long-term injury" rule allowing signings, but that is relevant to the transfer-windows, not the end of the season, although I'm sure they will quote this rule as the reason it was allowed. In which case, why disallow it in the first place?

Still, from a neutral point of view, having Lambert ride makes the meeting more appealing to watch. So why not just include the "long-term injury" rule in the "no signings after August 31" rule. Then there's no argument?
