King's Lynn Young Stars 2023?

Recommended Posts

One or two rumours around that Lynn will be entering a team into the NL next season? Various Tweets from Alex Brady might back up the theory.

Presumably the likes of Jody Scott, Sam Hagon, Elliott Kelly, Ryan Kinsley, and Ashton Boughen might be in the frame for a team place if so.

Thoughts?

A returning kings Lynn would be fantastic for the national league couple of local lads there as well

Hope this happens, the NL could be the most populated league next year with 10 teams if the Comets and KL both join.  Maybe even IOW will be ready to return

Would be good if Ipswich entered a team and then you have some real rivalry/local derbies with Kings Lynn, Mildenhall and Ipswich and if the top league organised themselves better surely Foxhall could host a team in the lower division. We live in hope.

and just where are all these extra NDL standard riders coming from ?

With the rumours that Workington and Kings Lynn are entering that’s another 14 to find. Yes, there’s a few coming through from the 250’s but only a couple and no doubt they will simply replace the few that traditionally ‘retire’ over the winter so let’s not get carried away with ‘new’ teams coming along as there simply isn’t enough competent riders to go around.

Are teams doing everything they can to look outside the box for riders - not just hoping the 250s produces something? Motocross/grass track/etc? How many more Boughens are out there.

I said it would be good but doubt very much if it would happen nevertheless one can look live in hope but does it really justify being shot down in flames for simply making a comment? The sport needs to cut costs and start encouraging the grass roots and it could well do without some of those who think the sport owes them a living and believe that they deserve a guaranteed income. The grass roots use to come from grass track but the sport has priced so much talent out of competing and the inability of the current crop of riders and the sports governors to think outside the box and see the racing for what it is is the major problem as to why it is on its knees in this country. U K speedway cannot and does not compete with the likes of Poland and frankly it is a shambles as long as people look at reasons why things cannot change such as ‘where are all the extra NDL standard riders coming from’ it will continue to be in a crap state.

Bit touchy aren’t we ? I simply asked where the riders were to come from ?

Grass track is in just as bad a state as speedway, very few meetings , even less youngsters on proper slide type machinery.

You are actually right in that we don’t do enough to encourage people into taking up the sport but that’s a vicious circle, they see the state speedway is in and don’t give it a second thought., but it’s not me you want to be having a go at, try the BSPL!

The public have never supported speedway at NDL at King's Lynn, so with money being so tight for people in general at the moment, I'd be surprised if that happened.
