Leicester vs Oxford - NDL - 23/09

Recommended Posts

Big meeting at the summit of the NDL table. Max Clegg guesting for Dan Thompson, and Ashton Boughen racing against his new employers! Oxford full strength. Both teams likely to make the playoffs, but who will finish top? Oxford won the return fixture 50-39.

Lion Cubs: 1. Max Clegg (guest), 2. Ashton Boughen, 3. Max Perry, 4. Max James, 5. Joe Thompson, 6. Vinnie Ford, 7. Tom Spencer

Chargers: 1. Jordan Jenkins, 2. Jacob Clouting, 3. Ryan Kinsley, 4. Jody Scott, 5. Henry Atkins, 6. Luke Killeen, 7. Jason Garrad

Going to be a close one I think. Leicester to win 47-43, but Oxford get the bonus point?

Leicester again the cause of end of season chaos.  What is wrong with their track. Seems it is unfit for racing every season for the last 2 months of the season. Is it built on a marsh  ? Is their ea river nearby?  Remember reading that the track machinery access is very restricted and causes damage to an already wet and boggy track . It is a continual source of fixture congestion.

The BSPL have played their hand and made a frankly ludicrous decision . Joint winners would have been the logical decision based on the current format requiring  p.offs to decide a winner.  In other areas they have held over the Jubilee cup to next season another disgraceful insensitive decision, again stemming from the boggy Leicester track.

With so few teams in the NDL and still unable to complete fixtures in a timely manner really have to question how the NDL can possibly survive as a professional league in 2024.

To be fair it has never been a problem until last year, there is undeniably a problem with it now though

Its ever since the corners were taken in. Mr Hemsley is fuming with some of the work they've done

  • Thanks 1

I hope Max Perry is ok the accident he has just had was horrific. He was on the track for 1/2 hour and in an ambulance in the pits for 10-15mins being treated and is still there. All medics are with him.

From the gates I don’t know if Max clipped a bike or throttle jammed he went in full pelt to the air fence which lifted on impact. Unfortunately he couldn’t clear the bike and it looked like it came down onto him.

Credit to Dan Thompson who stayed with him the whole time even helping carry the stretcher.

Update: 21:25 ambulance has now left the stadium.

There’s clearly a drainage problem now. The turd of Hemsley’s layout has been polished as much as possible in terms of racing, but at the expense of the only thing he got right, the drainage.

Mind you if we were t trying to host finals in late October after it’s done nothing but piss it down for weeks what can anyone expect?

The bates are well truly screwing us over. They are refusing to repair the drainage before they leave the stadium. Mr Cairnes has zero interest in sorting it either and I dont blame him.

think there might be too much clay on the track so take longer to dry and will hold water

If only somebody could invent something to stop rain getting onto the track... maybe something like...

A Cover? Yes, that would do it!
