eide67 199 Posted September 7, 2023 Monarchs just need to beat Birmingham to qualify for the play-offs. Or, if they beat Plymouth they just need to score 37 against the Brummies. Looks doable with these teams but fingers will be crossed that riders come through their Thursday night fixtures unscathed. STELLAR MONARCHS: Richard Lawson (guest), Lasse Fredriksen, Kye Thomson, Paco Castagna, Josh Pickering (captain), Luke Killeen (guest), Bastian Borke. PROWPARK GLADIATORS: Kyle Howarth (captain), rider replacement for Richie Worrall, Jason Edwards (guest), Sam Hagon (guest), Justin Sedgmen (guest), James Pearson, Ben Trigger. CURTIS SPORTS BRUMMIES: Kyle Howarth (guest), Alfie Bowtell, Troy Batchelor, Paul Starke, Justin Sedgmen (captain), Stefan Nielsen, Sam Hagon.
eide67 199 Posted September 7, 2023 If my arithmetic is correct there is a scenario where Monarchs could lose both matches in the Super Heat and still qualify for the play-offs having just won one home match all season!
TheScotsman 2,484 Posted September 7, 2023 Bald men all fighting over the comb. All of them would be mullered in the play-offs.
Mr Blobby 2,676 Posted September 7, 2023 I’d like to think we’d win both these fairly comfortably but with how our season has went who knows. Hopefully track and racing are as good as last night.
Nickinho 429 Posted September 7, 2023 (edited) How does the situation in the pits work during a double header? Will the three Plymouth riders who aren't going to be racing for the Brummies have to leave very promptly and if so how long will the four incoming riders get to unpack their bikes and set up if there's to be no real break in proceedings? *JJ 520 Posted September 7, 2023 I've decided to watch both matches on the stream, as half of the Gladdies are Birmingham riders anyway ...

Good point. Official start times are 7 and 8.45. So maybe working on the assumption that they can complete each meeting in 1 hr and 15 mins, with a 30 mins break in between, taking up to the 10pm curfew. All going well(!!) Not sure if 30 mins would be enough or whether there is extra space in pit area. Where do juniors/second half riders usually set up? Purely guessing. Sure someone more in the know can clarify.

Just a small question , why is everyone so bothered as to where the riders are going to set up their pit bay?

Think it was just a genuine question out of curiosity, to be fair, no one losing sleep over it.

Mr Blobby 2,676 Posted September 7, 2023 They normally set the bikes up just outside the pits then the other teams empties they just put their stuff in, simple as that really. 1

Bluenose 75 Posted September 8, 2023 Howarth Sedgie and Hagon riding for both away teams !?! ........... Only in Speedway. Sedgie will be worn out by the time the second match starts. Hope the Brummies can get a win though, but as said a 845 start does not bode well, meeting could be like Titanic sinking. Oh well come on you Brum.
