Brummies 2024...

Recommended Posts

Tolley can't win really. The support is crap along other issues involved with the track and stadium. Brum had no choice but to move up due to race nights.  My issue isn't with how much money he's put in, its what he's spent it on. If he claims to have poured in loads and loads money then more fool him, the teams he's put together are shocking. I can't comment on this year's side yet because it isn't finished but the more it drags on the more negative comments will appear. I know someone said it's just good to see birningham running and that there is speedway.  OK that's great for you, but what about the fans that want to see a WINNING team (atleast at home). Surely he could not run speedway this year, save a fortune of cash and re invest it into 2025. That money can improve the side and stadium. I don't know really... like I said he can't win.

For me. They have to go full on in trying to attract those from the previous "hot beds" of Speedway, Cradley, Wolverhampton and Coventry..

They probably only need 600 or so in total from these "speedway starved" areas and they should be somewhere near its affordable level..

But, as we know, speedway clubs getting an extra 600 of their OWN fans to attend "regularly" is a huge challenge, so Brum will have to use some very aggressive, fit for purpose, marketing...

And probably need it to be done by a proper marketing company rather than the usual speedway in house, "well meaning" amateurs, which, again, will mean another cost...

They do reckon on 1000 per home meeting  to make ends meet...Wolves didnt get big crowds but CVS new how to run it .

This is what I said before and I completely agree with. Fair play to Tolley if he has has coughed huge amounts of money - but it actually only shows even more how incompetent he has been in spending it.

Most fans of closed tracks stop going to speedway, its proven. If even half of the defunct tracks fans went to other tracks then in theory Birmingham would be getting at least 2000 a week watching them already with Perry Bar being inbetween two of the best attended tracks in the Country of years gone by in Cradley and Coventry!

In speedway terms Wolves were one of best attended tracks in the Country but I bet that no more than 2-300 of them at the most will go to Birmingham this coming season and that is even for odd visits.

Fairplay to Tolley for putting his money where his mouth is but he is clutching at straws with weak teams and the only way he'll reduce his losses would be to have a team challenging for the title.

They've had years to attract Cradley and Coventry fans and haven't, they've signed the bottom of the Wolves team not the top so I wish them well with that

I think you're right in that any concerted effort to attract other West Midlands fans would need to be something new that hadn't been tried before

Crowds were decent compared to a lot of teams currently running.

The content that I have seen put out is poor, the free advertising tool that is social media isn’t great they could do so much more and you don’t have to be a marketing specialist to know how to promote on something like Instagram/ Twitter for example to reach a different/new market. I don’t know the Birmingham management set up but surely if the people working for Nigel Tolley aren’t up to pulling in new money you change the people, that’s how the profitable businesses work.

And 5 .going on Sheffield and Ipswich...

I don't think that Brum can be worrying about Sheffield, Ipswich and BV

They need to have a look at Kings Lynn for example who have a good no 1 but an average no 5. Ditto Oxford

Ave isnt good enough  in heats 13 and 15 unless uve got a decent  lead...Brum have enough  points  left for a good  1 and 5 ...
