Early in the season but alarm bells were ringing at Birmingham when it comes to Sheffield.

The team is unbalanced and it's going nowhere this season with those reserves, Gilkes has to get himself fixed up with a Championship club.

Sheffield could still win the league with reserves struggling away, just need to hit big scores at home, which is always possible.

I don't think they are favourites, but they can win it.

I don't even think they'll make the play-offs without a change or two tbh.

Those reserves are just too weak for this years strong Premiership, They basically need a firing on all cylinders Chris Holder to compensate for the weak reserves and I just cant see it happening at his age.

They’ve had 3 away meetings and been more than competitive. With a team that is arguably the best on home shale. I can’t see 4 teams bettering them over the season

Some people want blood. Tigers ran Oxford close , drew at Brum and did ok in first leg at BV. That’s a decent start in my book

I'm not convinced by them now personally, I thought the would get away with having weak reserves pre-season with the jury being out on that but when you need a super heat to beat Birmingham then it's alarming tbh especially when take into account what happened tonight with Oxford not even needing Janowski to go a dozen points up at PB.

I think the strength of most of the squads this season means away wins are going to be quite rare, so the final table is likely to come down to aggregate points having a big impact. The Sheffield squad is built on having a very strong top 5 at home, which should see them pick up the majority of the extra points over the season. This in theory will see them into the top 4, and barring disasters they will be capable of giving any team a battle over the 2 leg play off matches.

My opinion on this might change when they finally ride at home !!

It’s not that rare, 2 out of 3 Premiership matches today were won by the away team

Not rare, but how many teams come to Sheffield and win?

The team is built to win at home, and I believe at the moment we will be very difficult to beat on our own track.

Usually if you win all of your home meeting and accumulate a number of bonus points then you will more often than not make the Play Offs.

Once your in the Play Offs its anybody's game as proved last season when 3rd placed Sheffield and 4th placed Ipswich contested the Final.

If for any reason it is not working for Sheffield, then expect changes, one thing the Sheffield never afraid to do is make changes and sometimes this can appear to be brutal ask Lewis Kerr.

Leicester last year  but i think in 20+ years of attending Olwerton thats about the first time I have seen them lose at home! (admittedly I do not go every week!)

But you are right Sheffield are built to win big at home!

If you would tie me down to who I think will win the Play Off Final, I would say that Ipswich are the team I would pick.

And if the trend of what has happened in recent seasons then Ipswich will do it.

2021 Peterborough Champions Belle Vue Beaten Finalist

2022 Belle Vue Champions Sheffield Beaten Finalist

2023 Sheffield Champions Ipswich Beaten Finalist
