Thought the track last night was extremely smooth. It was slick as expected. Watering regularly with a new bowser, which didn’t imo put down enough water even though the driver was going slow. Needs to come out at a faster rate. By the time the tractor had done a lap it was evaporating. Bigger jets required! Racing wise it was OK. A few good heats. Brennan a good guest. Morris and Jenkins both excellent guests. Lightcap a very decent first meeting with no last places and battled well. Nearly got the better of Brennan but stayed low allowing Tom to blast around him. -
So another season done and dusted at Sandy Lane. Not the one most of us wanted, but good to see the crowds swelling again and we should just be thankful we got any speedway at all after the greyhound collapse. On a more positive note, it sounds like next year is already being planned. I was a little worried (and still am, if I'm being honest) about there being any speedway at Oxford next season, but Peter Shroeck sounded very excited about it when being interviewed yesterday and said team plans are already under way. Fingers crossed.

i dont know why Kings Lynn have bowed down to it to be honest, also curious to see how many meetings he actually does for the young stars too. -
Looks to me like the crucial fixture is Edinburgh v Berwick. A double over the Monarchs would put Berwick ahead of them. Lose to Poole but beat Berwick and you are still in top 4.

We’ve got Poole at home on Friday, tough match. Berwick home and away which we won’t win down there and probably won’t get the bonus from, scunny away again won’t get the win and won’t get the bonus. so we’re looking at a maximum of 4 point imo if we win both our home matches which is no guarantee as Poole are very strong side and Berwick have a team of riders who can all score well round the dale. Paco lack of brain engagement last week in effect cost us 3 points which is going to cost us a play off spot imo.

That's a good win for the Comets. It shows how fallible Oxford can be when Sam Masters doesn't get a max. BTW I hope young Max Perry is OK.🤞
