The World Cup requires careful scheduling, not abject surrender, but then the extreme, simplistic response is always the easiest when you're too lazy to think things through properly as you so ably prove. By contrast, one of our respected members recently reported on a conversation with a TV sport editor who explained his station's lack of speedway news coverage was because speedway was not a "serious sport". I rather suspect that ours is the only summer sport planning to virtually close down in the face of another sport's tournament. I can't see even the much-maligned stock car racing behaving in such a manner. Next you'll be telling me that the top tier of speedway lost Saturday nights because of Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor. It doesn't reflect well on the BSPA's confidence in being able to get people through their gates, does it? Continuity was always speedway's strength - the public knew each week or at least there would be a meeting on the same night each week, so say Friday night WAS speedway night. Losing that has been a very important contribution to the sport's near demise. Traditionally you never let the fans think there were other things to do in season on your racenight. Now the promoters pick and choose when to run. Is it no surprise that supporters in turn pick and choose when to go? We've given people too many excuses to stop going to speedway, and haven't so many seized on just that?8 points

I don't think there's any doubt that we look one of the weaker sides on paper, but it's far from doom and gloom. We have as good a number one as anyone (apart from perhaps Somerset!) and a strong reserve as well as two promising teenagers. One of the other three needs to step up to third heat leader for us to have a good season and if they can't then we must not delay in bringing somebody in who can. Being widely predicted to finish 8th means there's only one way to go and that's up, the aim has to be top four. This team ought to be strong at home and needs to hit the ground running to that end, sure there will be some away beatings but hopefully there will be some good showings too. The pressure is off and we need to use that to our advantage. There is always a fancied team who struggles and an unfancied one that flourishes, hopefully that will be us. Not particularly impressed with the price increase but like the fact that kids are free.4 points

cant believe some moaning about certain riders who have been signed, think yourselves lucky you have a team to support, spare a thought for those that don't.4 points

This seems a very sterile and petty argument. All three have similar records. All three are very talented. Given the right breaks all three will go far and deserve our backing.4 points

18 pounds doesn't attract new adults. Price has put my mates off in the past. But I think things are going to be ok. It's a shame the announcer from last year left though. He was good at running events like tonight. I liked some of the things robin was saying. He's a good talker. If he can make these plans he's saying work in terms of diet/training then it will be interesting to see how the riders improve. He was right in saying be more positive about the sport because it will influence the outside medias view. If a potential sponsor was to ever come on the forum I'm pretty sure the negativity at times would dissuade them. I know everybody is entitled to an opinion but we do all have a part to play. I think if we are challenging for the play offs then we will be doing well. I think it's a team build with progression in mind. Wouldn't be surprised if many of these riders are here for a couple of seasons3 points

So the adult saves £4 if he takes a junior.A junior that might never go,might get the chance now.I can see an adult with no kid pays a pound more. Better than keeping last seasons £17 and charging 11-16 year olds £5,for the future of the sport is it not.3 points

Just hope that now you are no longer attending that will also mean an end to your constant moaning and negativity, genuine KL supporters are really fed up with reading the same tedious comments from the likes of you and a few other regulars who will hopefully take your lead and not return either, perhaps you could go to Peterborough with Star Lady.......they deserve you both ! Good Luck to the Stars in 2018 !3 points

I am not sure i get all the negativity, looks a decent side to me with no obvious weak links and with the second best rider in the league.3 points

They had to get it on a certain date to make sure the car parking at the adjacent Karting / moto cross facilities will also be in full sole operation by Redcar Speedway for the 4s meeting. Dont worry everything has been well and truly thought out before this meeting was accepted by the promotion3 points

The Arena can easily host a few thousand - a few more food vans and won't be an issue...and the best thing about Redcar is how neutral the track is, not like a Peterborough or Sheffield...3 points

Each to their own, not racing every single week suits me down to the ground to be honest. Less fixtures also makes it more 'important' when there is a match. It can be so easy if there is fixtures every week to say "nah I'll just go next week" instead.3 points

Folder and *natch ruined Lynns 2017.Was in a play off position at the time. NKI back.Only 2nd best to Doyle.2nd best rider in the league.Brundle on board, don't know his input yet(but it can't be worse).Promotion to encouraged to take kids. I admit I don't think Lynn is as strong as I would of liked, and I have said so,but how many teams do you think would of like NKI.He ain't cheap !! Your mind seems made up.2 points

Have you complained. Surely a complaint would be contacting the company. If it's just on here it's moaning.2 points

Car parking will not be an issue going off what Kev said tonight - alongside improved viewing areas and improved catering. Should hopefully be a fantastic event.2 points

Theres that word "us" again. I think he didn't want to ride for Havvy. As you were a Havvy basher at the time I don't understand how you are swapping things around to try and make your opinion correct and blaming the rider for doing the same thing you were doing.2 points

I'd hate to let you down so here goes. Not much to say really, the team doesn't excite me, brilliant points scorer he may be but I don't put NKI in the entertaining bracket like Nicki P, as for the others, most of them have been there and not really done it. Seen too many "promising, rising stars" in years gone by to believe all the hype about the newbies. We were promised a new era for fans...not seen any sign of that and they put the price up. So that's me moaning. You might not like the fact I have that opinion but that's tough. Show me the positives and i might just might think again. Nah I won't lets be honest. Cant see me at Lynn this season. IF I go to speedway it will be at Peterborough where they know the word entertainment and actually provide it.2 points

Ps I knew cos Rob Godfrey was guilty in the panthers fans eyes he would get them back ha ha as the old saying goes“ He who laughs last , laughs loudest“ get in Rob2 points

More a case of thank you Torun and Jack Holder I would have thought. Without Holdergate it would have been same as irrespective.2 points

The EoES administration have seemingly been difficult for years and I doubt that any promotion has been to blame for the fixture problems and things ticked over fine and regularly until the biggest upheaval in around 2002. Neil and Mick Horton unfortunately got the worst of it: "Panthers have been denied regular race nights by their landlords at the East of England Showground and Horton insists the prospects are bleak unless things change immediately. Horton added: "I totally sympathise with the fans. People can't afford to attend two-or-three meetings a week which is the scenario they have been faced with because of the difficulties we have trying to get suitable dates from the Showground." peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/speedway-support-us-or-lose-us-warns-beleagured-panthers-chief 24/6/2004 Prior to that Friday night was speedway night and there were few fixture issues from March to October so I think that you're being harsh there. Speedway itself never knows what it's doing year on year until late.2 points

This argument has been rolling since way back in the youth days and hopefully will continue for many more years with many national titles contested between them. Both have strong speedway families, practically personal practice tracks and sponsorship that could rival many elite riders. If both of these do not make it big in the sport there are serious questions to be asked.2 points

If you reduce the quality further you will get less fans. People want to see GP riders. Biggest thing in speedway in the UK is the GP on TV and people want to see those riders. Doyle vs Vaculik heat 1 is better than anything else.2 points

One big league would have to be at Championship level - so no GP riders for a start. There are also 17 Premiership riders with an average over 6 and no Championship average, so if you deduct those, you're down to 109. In 2018 there will be 19 teams requiring 133 riders, so you're at least 24 riders short.2 points

Good luck to Cradley I say, The team that was one of the biggest Speedway teams in the country are now running in a meaningless competition, Cherry picking a team of riders that all ride for others teams, it’s such a sad demise of a club like Cradley , let there marvellous fans have something to cheer about.2 points

For those that can be assed to turn up tonight, no upsetting Buster by mentioning Holdergate of last season. Bit Like Basil mentioning the war. I see the new Social media/Marketing officer has been appointment at Saddlebow. This was the role that Robin Brundle was advertising ? and the winner is........ Buster's daughter2 points

Tonight's the night! THIS is what we have been waiting for! Just How Amazing can it be? Is it just like the Music Hall style "amazing" - where every other act was truly stupendous and unlike anything that had gone before them? I hope that medical facilities are on hand to cope with stupefied members of the audience.2 points

I think it would be worth the Swindon promotion going to the Port Talbot factory to see if their stadium actually exists in modular form.2 points

Of course Matt Saul is declared but has already been replaced by another rider for the day2 points

So the plan now, it seems, is for the new stadium to be built on the same site as the current one. If new one is worked on and changed, then fine. If the current one is to be demolished first, then not fine.2 points

The fact that Panthers were not going to stage the fours has been common knowledge for several months. Certainly no sour grapes from any Panthers fans I know of. Good luck to Redcar for being the beneficiary of continuing reprisals and retribution from he who must be obeyed.1 point

Much as I enjoyed the 4s at Peterborough its nice to see a change and I wish the Redcar promotion all the best in hosting the event. Hopefully i'll make the trip up north to see it1 point
