That Lambert, he's ****ing brilliant I've said it 100 times but if anyone is making a stand and staying away they are missing out big time watching the talent of Robert, he is so pliable, so safe, brave, determined, I love watching him, they'll regret it if he does actually leave, it's 100% cutting off ya nose to spite your face And then chuck in the rest of the team this season, racing as good as they can (or at least getting to where they want to be), fit, determined, up to you but Dale has built a good team and team spirit, up to you but I'm loving it5 points

Spot on. .. And some will say "we have had guests for donkeys years"... And indeed we have, however... The days of turning up at a track, without any prior knowledge, and being peed off to find out PC wasn't there and that another teams' best rider replaced him have long, long gone... Sweden and Poland run fixed nights and don't use guests.... Their Championships therefore have credibility... We run the same system and still have guests... Meaning our Championships don't have credibilty.. It's interesting we didn't use one fixed night like Sweden. So as, I presume, to facilitate the use of guests... And then our version of 'two fixed nights' is actually three, and that all fixtures are arranged, it would appear, to again, facilitate guest replacements, unlike Poland, who with their three nights still don't use guests.. What you got away with in years gone by, doesn't mean in this age of 'instant news' you can still get away with it today... When we found out PC wasn't there after we had paid our hard earned to get in, we often moaned to each other, but it was to the 10 or so people around you.... Nowadays you know BV are missing riders days in advance and instead of moaning to ten people, literally thousands on various forums get to read it... And then make their decision to attend the fixture... With many, 100% understandably, deciding against it.. If you don't run any Sport with credibility and integrity, you simply cannot complain when you struggle to generate decent crowds every week. And when you add on that winning that Sports Championship's mean very little (by the very way they are won), and you have real problems I would suggest..4 points

Belle Vue did average 1500 last year but significantly below it this year with Monday night racing. However, I wouldn't have expected a good crowd last night when your top 3 are missing and you're using 3 guests. Many fans will no longer support select teams.3 points

It is also said that Jack is the main reason why team spirit was so bad last season. So I can see why Matt wasn't rushing to have him back!2 points

Ford will wait for Holder, then we will see water turned into wine, healing of lepers, walking on water. We had all those expectations at Lynn last season with him. Look how that turned out.2 points

Absolutely, he has certainly stepped up a level this year and to be scoring the points he is now in several different countries at twenty years old is excellent progress. Some people thought he should have a Michael Lee type impact at 16-18 but riders progress at different rates, doesn't make them better or worse. His fitness regime seems to be bearing fruit and this could be said for the whole team, these marginal gains including fitness, team building and the warm up/down cycles seem to squeezing a few extra % out several riders and are being reflected in results so far.2 points

Really? Thought Kurtz covered what Cook would have scored easily to be honest. Josh is off form so a strange booking but he got two race wins which was more than expected to be honest. Unfortunate with Garrity but would never give him a guest booking after last years diabolical effort at Somerset for Poole.2 points

it was a good meeting with passing and plenty of effort by all but 1 brough park is a technical track and its about attitude of mind any decent away rider will always score if he attacks the track those that arrive believing they cant ride the track .... don't ...... but perhaps they should watch how their teammates ride rather than just trundling around the track2 points

Interesting article in the Bournemouth Echo. Sundstrom out for Gavin. Gavin in for Kurtz. Middlo has decided to take the rest of the 2018 season off and will be replaced by Gavin. Holder is having visa issues and so Worrall is to be replaced by Gavin. Grajczonek has finally been replaced by Gavin (long overdue imo) and Szczepaniak has been replaced with Gavin. Woryna's recent performances were too good for Gavin and so he has been replaced by Gavin. The only rider to remain is Nielsen, whose new team manager Gavin claims is "our greatest asset". Gavin has also announced that he intends to replace Gavin, Gavin, Gavin, Gavin, Gavin and Gavin with some poorly scoring English riders as this is "the right thing to do" and "is the right thing for Britain". He is also petitioning a complete ban on any black riders, or riders who have an accent unlike his own, joining the British league. Gavin was quoted as saying "Nick Morris, Nick Morris, Nick Morris".2 points

Actually mate I think there are a lot of people that are loving speedway at lynn at the moment. I talk to a few people on the stands. There are very few negative oppinions. Problem is people on forums like a moan. The only problem the other night was the excessive grading but you definitely can't moan about racing or the team! I hope other fans don't think lynn is a bad place to be because of the comments of a few depressants. Many of whom don't even go often or if at all. Your oppinion is only worth 1. Much like mine and the other people who go. The only difference is you guys use the forum daily or hourly even. It taints the club and the sport in general! That's just 1 oppinion though. My 1, your 1 would disagree and I guess it's a free world. But I hope people who read know you are in the minority.2 points

This is just typical of the complete twisting of quite a reasonable comment by people determined to defend the indefensible It was ranting roy who said there would be 'new faces' and since then we heard bugger all from the club again Did I say I wanted daily updates ??? Did I imply that ???? But you think its acceptable to say nowt .......... and that we should just accept it .............. frankly that's bollocks and its that type of attitude that is killing the sport ............ (David Howes analysis was spot on) All the club had to do was given an update - even if it was to say that we were are persuing opportunities but have been unable to agree terms (or whatever maybe the truth) .............. I personally do not think that is too much to ask ............ Im not demanding details ........ merely an update Anyway on a positive side ....... it was brilliant to see wethers score some points and look so determined ........... and overall great effort by the rest of the lads ................ for Berwick summers was superb as per at brough, howe and doolan tried. however they were always going to struggle with jay having a night to forget and danny just deciding he couldn't ride the track (pathetic really ... at least jay and Nathan gave it go - and look at Simon Lambert ... he wouldn't put Brough in his top 100 tracks but he tried his hardest)2 points

Yes, I'm sure the rules could be adapted to allow each rider to ride for up to three teams in one league, instead of the current three leagues1 point

Skidder - The comment was more aimed at the state of British Speedway. Its no secret that Matt was already feeling the pinch financially with no DECENT TV money prior to season start. Add to that the big meeting wipeout with all that bad weather and the expense of flying in and putting up all those riders plus the big bash with no incoming revenue to balance the books. Add to that the wipeout early season of meetings incl the meeting BH against Somerset that wld normally attract a big crowd. Not enough money for the kevlars (polish it up how you want but for me no modern speedway team in a top division should not have its own team kevlars). You can add to that poorer than normal attendances - fixed nights which not affecting Poole so much but its openly reported on the BSF that crowds are down or falling. IF and i say IF Poole crash and burn this season and with whats going on elsewhere, can Matt and the not so well off Clubs afford to maintain Speedway in its current format. The point I was eluding to is will the format of British Speedway change if clubs cant afford the big boys any more and are we slowly heading towards one major league ?? When you hear Matt Ford is finding it tight/tough and if he has another not so good season (as last year and so far this season), will he have the heart and fight to continue in the top flight. Same comment for others where you hear the NSS is also struggling on crowds partly due to fixed night racing and also more likely due to the continued falling interest in our sport. Matt had a successful team in the past which kept the crowds coming in. Having had supporters spoiled with that over the last decade plus, it soon hits the pocket when you get a team who struggle to even get home wins.1 point

Really sorry to hear this news about Matt, thoroughly decent guy. All the best mate, take care1 point

If both Holder's ride for Poole not sure Chris can keep Jack in check! As for Kyle Newman i know he has had injuries and i do like him but i don't think he will ever be a 6-7point rider in the premiership.1 point

To add to KK and Kolodziej - no chance with any luck. Very unlikely it would happen but if results went well for the Poles in the 2018 GP and Challenge there could be 7 in the 2019 GP's which is overload. I don't agree with wildcards for the challenge but would bend in the case of injury. Nor do I agree with a local wildcard which is pointless and unfair. Places should be earnt in the GP series not given away. Under the current rules I hope the rider who finished 4th in each qualfier gets the wild card.1 point

Just another theory on the choice of riders in heat 15, this was the last meeting before the averages are calculated for next month (23rd of each month), maybe Lions had the figures required to make any changes ( eg. Bates returning) & didn't want to run any risks in getting them altered, so played safe & let the guests have the ride.Probably miles out & it was just the fact that Worrall was top scorer & Wells had done a pretty good job too. Must say was fearing a defeat before-hand, so was pleasantly surprised at the result. Special mention to James Sarjeant, excellent for his 8 +1.1 point
-
Use R/R. One cannot declare a rider "Long term injured" and replace the rider if the rider rides 2-3 meetings in a week during his "injury".1 point
-
Unless there was a very compelling reason, I'd challenge Stead's decision to put both guests into heat 15 and not Kenny Bjerre. After all, Bjerre is the number one rider and even though he'd had an inconsistent match, he still needs to be put into those situations, not excused from them. The guests had done a good job, but with the match won I'm not sure they would be 100% committed to ensuring the opposition didn't get a point. The Leiicester score chart was remeniscent of the Martin Rogers era!!1 point

No one has mentioned the track from last night and in my opinion it played a big part in our loss.( taking nothing from Lynn they were the better team on the night and well deserved their win )There was a lot more dirt on the track last night than there normally is and i think the Belle vue riders struggled with it.We had the fastest time of the season in heat one ( more dirt more grip ) and to my count there were 9 FTG wins thats not normal at the NSS. From a passing point of view it was the poorest meeting of the season. The dirt made the first rider from the gate so fast that it was very hard for the others to make a pass.( hard not impossible ) After Garrittys fall (track nothing to do with his fall) we had an interval while the medics took a look at him and there was a long track grade in which they took a bit of the dirt off, it was not as slick as normal but less dirt on it and then Bewley looked better and got his only win and Tungate then looked more himself and got three race wins and Drozdz scored his only points of the night in his last ride.Trouble is after the grade Grajczonic did not score another point and Kurtz after 2 wins got a 2nd and a 3rd.Not the only reason for our loss last night but in my opinion it played a big part of it. But as i said before Kings lynn got to grips with the track better than we did and well deserved the win. Nowhere near as bad but as a eg the world team cup semi showed that too much dirt at the NSS makes for a poor meeting.1 point

Sometimes meetings do work out as one imagines. Result in doubt until the end always makes it more interesting. Obviously pleased we took advantage of this ridiculous fixture planning, nobody has mentioned the crowd numbers yet , so don't know how it was perceived against that of the normal. Guests may have been somewhat weaker, but some of Belle Vue's own riders didn't perform has they could have, so it would be wrong to proportion all the blame on the guests... Never more than 6 points apart the end was always going to be close. From the contacts, the Updates; and tweets, we Stars fans should be very happy. We performed well as a team, we provided 7 race winners away from home, We only had 6 last places, and secure 4 of 5-1 race wins. All relevant facts that indicate our inner team strength. Niels, slowly but surely , is getting back to his old form, MPT is a far better rider than most people recognise, Proctor is proving he was never a gamble, Kerr has to be one best reserves ever , and Robert has at last come of age... No, we may not have won against a full BV side, but for sure we would have gave them something to think about..... That heat 13 last night was massive. to gain a 5-1 in that race after they had clawed back level , all but sealed their fate.,,1 point

fine mate! then walk away! just don't bleat on about it and bringing down those that are left enjoying it! Find a hobby or something! the past is the past! unfortunately you can't turn the clocks back. Them days are gone. We should appreciate what we have while we still have it because the world has changed and will continue to change. live events are dying out. there used to be a great underground music scene in lynn and the surrounding areas. punk, metal, it was thriving. but time moved on and thats no longer the case. there is cheap fun to be had and its an expensive sport. bat and ball is cheap. moaning on a forum won't change anything1 point

That's the thing, no idea on your age or when you started going to Speedway but my opinion is nowhere near the minority. King's Lynn were pulling in around 3000 not all that many years ago. Now the club is lucky to make half that a week. Before I was even going the older folk would tell us all about packed out stadiums week in week out. I can guarantee there are more ex Speedway fans than attending. That tells a whole different story to the few hanging in there at meetings. The main reason for people every year walking away is 'Value For Money'. Once people do walk away it's rare they'll ever return. This is something promoters never seem to grasp. As much as some say that I'm no longer welcome, that's fine but as we're all walking away less than half will be new fans of Speedway.1 point

Yet again after years of ok on Mondays why it somehow a problem now ..really odd mind set from Belle vue fans .its not working on a Monday for them so now wolves poor crowds after about 33 years are now because of Mondays.1 point
-
You might want to ask yourself why only Wolves had a Monday race night when teams we free to choose. You might want to ask yourself why the entertainment industry regards Monday as the worst night of the week to get people to attend. You might want to ask yourself why crowds dropped at the dog track when we had to move from Friday to Monday. You might want to consider that attitudes to keeping children out late on school nights has changed since clubs like Wimbledon were operating. You might want to ask yourself why our previous promotion said there was no future for the Aces unless we could build a new stadium and change our race night to Friday You might want to ask yourself why crowds have dropped so significantly at the NSS this year when the only change is the race night. You might want to ask yourself if you want to put at risk the future of the NSS.1 point

If i was to take a group of non-speedway people to speedway,i wouldn't even start to explain the rules etc,or these riders don't actually ride for them etc they don't need to know this especially for their first meeting.I would just let them see what speedway is about first and foremost and that's the actual racing. If they enjoy the racing that's half the battle done. And lets be honest Belle Vue is the place to take them to get good racing.1 point
-
Nothing has changed apart from the advent of the Internet, when I was younger I stood with a great crowd and we had tons of banter and laughs, we never gave one iota of thought to the length of meetings, extra entertainment etc, we were there for a good night out Seems to me we all need to lighten up, laugh more, find some new friends and enjoy our nights1 point

Have to agree with you there Waco, he looks very unbalanced on the bike which possibly why he is prone to having a lot of offs and then beating himself up over it. Adam Ellis was the same though, once he learnt how to distribute his weight on the bike better (change riding style) he became a much better rider.1 point
