  1. I disagree personally i would rather see a competitive meeting with 7 riders each side if that means a single guest tonight so be it.

  2. Peterborough at its best is second only to the NSS in this country for me.

  3. Yes the track is smooth and fast but the racing is not better, It's gate and go so far. I am shocked that they are settling for a team 3 points under the limit and to me it shows a lack of ambition and is not fair on the season ticket holders who bought in thinking we had a title winning team but unfortunately now we haven't.

  4. Yeah mate. We get it. Over and over again! The 1 thing more boring than brexit is this regurgitated topic. You’re entitled to it but nobody cares if you are there or not. . its good to see a good performance from the lads. I’m glad the crowd showed support to Kasper. He may struggle at home but the points he scored somewhat unexpectedly were the difference at Poole. If he keeps that up away then in the bigger picture. As long as we keep winning at home then it doesn’t really matter too much

  5. Am I not interested anymore? That’s news to me just because I chose not to attend doesn’t mean I’m not interested anymore I wouldn’t have deleted Kings Lynn Speedway they blocked me for a view that not club policy they don’t like criticism of any kind if your a happy clapper your fine I guess the clubs Twitter account has become a sunshine and roses account were your not allowed a point of view other than the clubs view , But if they won’t listen to fans views then Speedway gets what it’s deserves .

  12. We are - we may not all agree which is normal in life - but least comments are not censored on here that’s what makes comments more interesting. And we get a truer picture.

  13. I understand. It's an easy subjective way to belittle a rider they - for whatever reason - don't like. He looks every inch a rider who has all the attributes to be the best of all-time. The professionalism of Mauger/Rickardsson, the overtaking ability of Collins, the technical ability of Nielsen, the coolness under pressure of Fundin/Gundersen. A very special rider indeed.

  14. well contributed to what was a brilliant brilliant meeting twists and turns and well done somerset ,in fact well done all 14 riders you served up the best meeting i have seen in years at perry barr. As for guests and attracting big names to this country it matters not one bit to people because that 4 million people would not have a clue who anyone is anyway. Producing racing like i witnessed tonight every week would get 4 million people interested. We will have to agree to disagree on the guest ruling but i want to be entertained first and win second.

  15. Poole is a morning meeting. Redcar evening. He can do both. 5 hours 20 mins to Redcar. Has time to spare and could stop for a quick break en route.

  21. Because my friend, the only thing certain in life is death. Workington Speedway is currently in a coma (license on ice), uncertainty is in the air, one would simply not switch off the life support machine straight away and give up all hope...

  22. Why don’t you Workington fans just realise that you have lost your Speedway Team, There was not enough of you going when you were running, it was not financially viable, The Promoters were going cap in hand to run again this Season, as sad as it is Workington Speedway Is Finished, get over it and move on.

  23. Jack Young was top qualifier in 1950 (i.e one year before he was World Champion), which suggests he would have won the 1950 Grand Prix challenge and therefore qualified for the 1951 Grand Prix series. PS Just checked there are currently 64 riders in the international stages of qualifying. And many countries use the results of national championships, etc, to determine who goes into the qualifiers. It's not a closed shop. If you're good enough, you get into it pretty quickly, as Emil did at the age of 19.

  24. It's good to hear/read some fans giving us more of a chance than they were before the season started Shame about 'Bomber'....regardless of the result, I was really looking forward to seeing him back at PB !

  25. A bit more shale, are you serious. Its had over 150 ton of shale and clay put on it this year alone, that’s why every time was under 60 seconds Monday and the track record has gone twice this year.

  26. A while ago if a rider was struggling a senior team mate to would take his bikes on track for a few laps after the meeting. Then report back with set up tips and anything else he thought needed changing. Doesn't this happen anymore?

  27. True but it was the I.O.W. Which, if memory serves me right, is more akin to a larger Peterborough than a technical Brough Park.

  28. Congratulations to Ryan Kinsley on winning the first U21 semi final at the IOW. Unbeaten! Jordan Palin getting a creditable 2nd.

  29. Thing is, all three meetings have been very entertaining so depends what you want for you money. Also, don’t get the logic as people not bothering to go is the quickest way to get the club to fold so who wins then?

  30. But when we do it the whole speedway world goes into an uproar... Even making the news in Poland that Newcastle dropped a rider because another rider had to retire... It's a numbers game in this country...

  31. Wouldn't it be nice to have a diamonds. Comets track and stadium bang in the middle between brough and Derwent parks & sat & Sunday meetings to have every weekend.. and not to worry about especially at BROUGH what we are faced with nearly every week ( from our landlords so called adult staff & what springs to mind is childish petty behaviour ) not good..

  37. I follow Town too....just been to DP to get my ticket for Friday versus the big enemy. Took the opportunity to have a look at the track etc. The track is NOT in a mess - granted there is one set of vehicle wheel-marks visible around it...probably made during wet weather...and a few *human footprints surround the pit gate area..otherwise it all looks as ever was. BTW didn't find anyone to ask re the proposed removal of shale. * animals arrive Friday..lol.

  38. Jye's May rolling average will be 6.49. If Bandits opt for r/r, it will still be everyone but Spud who can ride. If they choose to go down the 28-day route (which need not start until May 3) there would be a few options, of which the favourite might be a fit Theo Pijper, if available on the May Saturdays. Or a bolt from the blue. But there would be no way they'd permanently redeclare the 1-7 without Jye, l'd say.

  39. to much sentiment from fans on rider choice, you need to select the best rider available within the points available.

  41. Schlein and Summers may not go undefeated but will probably score a boatload more than the Brummies top end. It's the rest i'm worried about tbh. The Brummie reserves are better than ours, Kurtz needs to improve from his Eastie showing and Grobauer has never seen the place before. Covatti knows Perry Bar but is up against arguably the best rider so far for Birmingham in Morris.

  42. Plenty of car parking space available to use on speedway nights & stock car nights. At the circle from town centre, turn right into stadium car park costing £1(free if you get there too early). Or turn left towards industrial area where it is free but longer to walk.

  44. I hope Buster is not trying to make the track more like KL, he's destroyed that track racing wise compared to how it used to be back in the 80's/early 90's. Best I've seen the Peterborough track was back in the early 90's I think when they had red shale and the track used to start off more or less waterlogged and dried out as the night went on... always remember the riders returning to the pits after heat 1 and they were all red

  45. I think Brad went for a gap that wasn’t really on. Thats the first time in 50 years I can remember that every heat was under 60 seconds, not so much one line but the inside was the quickest. Gating is all important at this level as very few mistakes get made and so it has proved in our first three matches. Hopefully the racing will improve a little over the next few months but it’s certainly entertaining, and the meetings are being run at a quick speed, about 1.5 hours so far.

  46. Rubbish - 8 points then misses one start and gets roughed up on the first turn in a tough heat. After the start and first turn it's basically follow the leader because you will not go round anyone and unless they move off the line then where you were are is where you stay. That's what happened to Kurtz.

  47. Never was an no way of knowing, he was always a terrible gater that may have held him back over a series.. Will always be a prize idiot though, Those that helped him must be regretting ever doing so
