Apparently he’s been riding injured most of the year but it’s funny that he can’t ride now that Edinburgh’s season is effectively over and Poole need points to finish top. And yes it’s the same that Porsing is fit now that Lynn can’t make the top four. Speedway needs to stop damaging itself, can’t believe the penny hasn’t dropped yet.8 points

Equally, I hope that Berwick close down over the winter due to having a track that's too narrow. Nothing against Berwick team, management or fans, of course.6 points

Totally agree! It was a brilliant atmosphere and the banter between all sets of fans was immense. Having been to Berwick a couple of times this season I left a little bit unimpressed with the gate and go racing , but saying that Saturday night was a whole different kettle of fish. With regards to comments being made towards Craig cook on various threads it seems that there is a lot of haters out there, if it had been another rider in heat 15 or 30 , I don't think people would be debating or not as much. Craig is a talent and he is the top rider in the championship by a country mile so it is easy to make him out the villain, let' be honest if he did not ride for Glasgow is their seriously any fan who would not want him in their team. On Saturday night speedway was the winner and I for one would gladly pay £30 every week to be entertained like that. Well done Berwick speedway.!5 points

To be honest I can't see what all the fuss was about. Craig Cook went for a gap, he's a racer, it's probably instinct. The gap closed, there was contact, Jye was brought down, Cook was excluded. All the bravado that followed was good theatre, but it amounted to a great deal of not much. The crowd got wound up and it just added to what was already a great atmosphere. Cook apologised, the riders probably talked it through and the world goes on turning. He may have had hid troubles lately but I can't see hiw the race on Saturday night had anything to do with that. He wanted to win the race and saw an opportunity to do so. Brilliant meeting, the crowd got something to talk about and speedway for me was the winner. I would love if every meeting had the atmosphere Saturday night had. A big crowd, fans giving each other friendly banter and making a load of noise. It was great to be a part of.5 points

Good news for Poole that its off Time for Wells to be fit for the restaging......or he may have stubbed his toe by then5 points

Wouldn’t be the first or last travesty in speedway.......I hope he does...just to see the reaction from all the horribly nasty Cook haters.5 points

Whatever Poole want it to be Apparantly his shoulder is hurting again..............just before he goes to Kings Lynn ( a place he is awful at) and Poole needing wins to try and top the table...........Douglas in against Ipswich next Monday..... I truly believe the coincedence of a rider who cant score a point anywhere being injured at the opportune moment4 points

Congratulations to Leicester riders and staff for finishing top of the pile. You have been the best team right from the get go. Regardless of the ridiculous play offs you are the true champs , the best team.4 points

shock news ricky wells out injured never saw that coming4 points

Really enjoyed that, Peterborough is as good as anywhere when it’s prepared right, have always loved the racing there. Plenty of fight shown by the Panthers riders too.3 points

Some decent racing from the guys who fancied it.Rosco comes across as a right plonker.3 points

Now we see why rosco stood down from GB before he was pushed terrible call in 153 points

Rosco having a rant about Douglas. But its OK when he gets a good guest.3 points

Poor old Ricky was carrying that nasty shoulder injury against Wolves. No wonder he struggled. Have to use horses for courses guests now. A real shame as it looked like Ricky was about to ram in some big scores for the playoffs. Our chances are now officially wrecked.3 points

You also said you hoped Glasgow would be knocked out of the play offs. As for Cook`s appeal you would think it would be to everyone satisfaction that this gets sorted sooner rather than later for club and rider.3 points

Good to tell you are Scorpions PR man. Last races meant nothing? Well tell that to a stand full of supporters around me , who were incensed that the track had not been graded but, actually bladed and outside line totally removed, robbing us of actual racing instead of follow the leader hugging the inside.3 points

Oh there we go, I say I hope he gets a deserved ban for assaulting a volunteer and hope that he’s not able to come straight back in to a play off final and you hope a club closes down, did you say the same about Workington last year big man?? Does it make you feel hard?3 points

Being as the meeting’s off, maybe with a week’s rest, Wells will be fit for the re-staging.3 points

Poole are running scared of Wolves thats for sure. To be pulling this sort of stunt before the play offs have even begun shows you desperate they are to avoid them. This place will be comedy gold if Ippo do them in the semis!!!3 points

crap team, bang average track, awful forecast, top of the table side coming, fans disillusioned with the promotion and on TV..... if you expecting anything different that's more shocking2 points

Just said the same to someone. On Jul 15 I said we'd all come back to at the end of the summer with everything being wrong, including the weather; so it has proved. A summer sport cannot have summer off at home, that's ludicrous.2 points

Wells has an actual injury, he has just been riding with it. It is not made up!2 points

This is totally at odds with what Peterborough bosses have told the fans. Any development is said to be long term and no changes that will effect speedway expected for 2/3 years. Development plan the council have said will not be looked on favorably unless it involves safeguarding the future of the various existing sporting activities2 points

Maybe it's buster playing Poole at their own game,,,,, no no no Mr Ford, track is waterlogged and we will wait till Ricky is back, its not fair on my fans they don't get to see Ricky2 points

In the mid to late 70's Exeter had a tie up with Canterbury as Wally Maudsley was co promoter, with John Richards, at Exeter and Promoter at Canterbury. In those days ther was no doubling up but it was usual for 2nd division #1 & 2 to be linked to a 1st division track. You could only be used as a #8 or to replace an injured/ill rider. The 1st division was so strong then that 2nd division heat leaders were on a par with the 1st division reserves.2 points

Appreciate Wells had a knock before signing for Poole but that hasn’t stopped him from taking guest bookings etc. When you have your own fans morning about him & then suggest “he steps aside” you can see how dodgy it looks.2 points
-
So Wells perfectly ok to ride for Edinburgh on Sunday then develops a mysterious shoulder injury that keeps him out this week for Poole Poole can now use horses for courses.....what a mockery the sport is .......and always Poole involved amazing..............lets hope this injuries dont keep him out the play off matches!!2 points

Very good suggestions, like I say last Saturday we had big crowd, good atmosphere and a bit of pantomime.2 points

Would be a good season opener. Friday at Edinburgh, Saturday at Berwick, Sunday at Glasgow.2 points

Thanks to luck, judgement, and the good old fashioned weather we had a great night on Saturday and something I would like to see repeated, maybe at the start of next season and have a three teamed event.2 points

That’s not correct. Insurance and referee fees increase for a double header, and medical costs and track curator wages may well increase. Two sets of tyres will be required. There is no assurance that the rent won’t attract a premium for a double-header. Bear in mind that for any ‘supplier’ to the Club except the riders, a double-header reduces their income opportunity (nine league events instead of ten) so they could well look to secure their income by charging more. Double-headers are never comfortable financially.2 points

In the excellent book '70 Years of Rye House Speedway' by Norman Jacobs, this meeting is described as the Novice Knock-Out Championships.2 points
