can't you girls do this via pm - i log on to see whats happening and see only petty crap i don't want to hear about.7 points

F***ing hell you've posted some sh*t on this forum but that's right up there, it's been 10 yrs since Poole brought a following that couldn't be accommodated on a skateboard and since the days of Ward and Holder the additional home fans can be counted on one hand, I for one won't miss the Poole 'Pisstaking' Pirates one iota from the top league.7 points

I see your out from under your stone again its all about opinions at least skidder can debate in which is more than I can say for you6 points

That's all very well, but top guys want big money, signing on fees, vans etc, with crowds that British Speedway are getting where is the money coming from, most of the riders ride in both leagues anyway, (not Doyle of course), so if Somerset go for the top riders and pay big money, would that make you attend? if so you may enjoy it for the season, as after that the club would probably go bust.5 points

Spot on, I've known the crowds to be bigger at my local track when we finished bottom of the League in the 90's than win the playoffs in the 2000's. Normally most weeks it was losing last heat deciders. It didn't matter some were good years some were not but you still went every week because the product was great. Great racing, passing aplenty, big names , speed, the noise, the smell, crackling atmosphere ,it was brilliant, and I wouldn't be shy to tell anyone. Not the same today, new bikes ( silencers 2010) have killed it, bikes now not suited to the track shape or material. Poor racing , less big names, less noise, no smell and no atmosphere. I like many have drifted away , 30 years every week has now amounted to maybe once a season. Forget the rules, guests , rider replacements, team changes have always been there, its the product that is not good enough. Watch the live matches on BT this year, unless its Belle Vue or a revamped Swindon there is really nothing to see .How bad we the playoffs this year, awful. Unfortunately Belle Vue and Swindon have shown us that most of the traditional old tracks are now not fit for purpose, but unfortunately these promotions don't have the money or authority to make any changes. Unfortunately that's where we at and why the sport in the UK is on its knees.4 points

Doyle may not be a team rider on track - his attitude is it’s his job to win races , but he for sure is a team man, always helping and guiding younger team riders and helping in the pits4 points

another odd and silly post, however you do imply that you actually watch"escape to the chateau" a programme i assume to be on a grown ups channel and for that i do owe you an apology starman,i always assumed you never ventured off nickelodean3 points

Jase was the bonus point king at Swindon, shepherded home Adam so many times. Could always be relied on in last heat, and most of the time didn't have to bovver as Swindon had it wrapped up well before. Helpful in the pits. Seems to have put his differences with Rosco aside now. Nice guy to chat to as well. Certainly in my Robins 7 of all-time. Rides injured a lot but ard as nails.3 points

not so sure lisa a "top"businessman would have sold pirates 3/4yrs ago not run it to the point where its virtually worthless bad business judgement, also as far as i know the chateau has not produced any income yet but has incurred some major unbudgeted costs, fantastic promoter for poole speedway(big big thankyou for that)but financial wizard ummm not so sure!! The next 48 hrs are going to confirm Newcastle’s fate. Their viability to financially compete with some of the deals being done suggest it will be tough to attract a competitive team. Need a big dose of sponsorship / cash investment or wooden spoon and the financial outcome of a bottom of the league season will come home to roost. Is it totally time for a honest man named John to step in ?2 points

Re Richard Weston; This Dick has always got to add his twopennorth re Comets non-existence.....you are spot on Tj with your solution for him....but let's talk Comets anyway and let them explode. It's actually keeping me interested enough....e.g. Until THJ mentioned it I wasn't aware Jengas family had held the promotion ropes at DP....?? I'll guess it was laal Eddy from Lowca..........but probably miles off...??????2 points

I doubt many fans would worry about Losing Scotty after his season but Wright was generally pretty good until his injuries and Hans is a very popular rider whose season was also ruined by injury.2 points

I'm with Najer on this. I did not attend this year because of the drop in divisions, loss of JD and increase in admission. Can't square the circle. Doubt much will change next year. Whatever you think of Rosco he has got to be right in that he should not be asked to break up his Swindon team just because they are getting better, year on year. This should apply everywhere, Championship as well. Nominal points limits are one of the things killing speedway. Let free enterprise prevail.2 points

So going championship was based on the fans vote then i dont believe that for one minute to be honest2 points

You are probably correct. He concentrates on maximising scores on the track, but may well be a good team man in the pits and with younger riders. As a Poole supporter I would love to have seen him riding for us in recent years, as we kind of brought him through in his earlier career and didn't benefit from what we have seen over the last 6 or so years. Was always an excellent gater but got overtaken too often. It's like a new rider suddenly awoke and he is now one hell of an aggresive (but fair) rider who is not the kind of guy to be messed with. How I wish we had seen that when he was say 23/26 years old. Indeed a late developer and a standard bearer for any young rider that you should never give up. We are sometimes to quick to write off riders who don't quickly turn into World class riders after they hit 25 but this guy is a shining light that you can develop into World Class if you have the mental strength to do it. He has proved that it can be done and gives hope to many. You could argue similar with Madsen when at Poole, who again was a good gater but displayed similar traits in his early 20's to Doyle in being overtaken too often. Look how he developed in POL and on the World stage.2 points

I think some of the Wittstock riders got a wrong impression of their 'contracts'. Including our own Romano Hummel who is now only a 'reserve'... whatever that means. They got like 15 riders on reserve.2 points

Says the guy who wouldn't go to the speedway, even if he got in free, like he used to but stopped when asked to pay like everyone else.2 points

You have no idea and I am not inclined to explain it to you... no one lost thousands in LJM the only person who lost thousands was LJM... just crawl back under your rock you clown... Regards THJ2 points

So to be clear Kent/Plymouth are going to have to give a pitch that demonstrates a business plan and sustainability to the very people that have got us into this situation in the first place. Oh the irony.2 points

Precisely these guys head half way round the world at great expense to their family and themselves to make or break, often the decision to head over is based a lot more upon when a rider is ready and capable rather than the UK's approach of shows some promise. There will always be riders who fall through the cracks and plenty of talented Aussies have gone home over the years because things haven't worked out in much the same way that UK riders have slipped away too but those who remain are the ones who made the grade and have more to offer the sport as a whole.2 points

Palin has the backing both financially & more importantly of his family to keep him grounded but progressing. Many of the burn bright but fade away riders mentioned had either one or both of those factors missing and that is what finished them off not bike ability. In order to improve you have to race a better standard regularly and in the NL Palin just won't get that. The Aussies have to come over and drop straight into Championship so its sink or swim for them and the reason so many make it to a decent standard is that they have no other choice, giving riders an easy time will make them soft. Tai, Lambert and other success stories made it because they were strong and determined enough. Its now for Jordan to prove which camp he will fall into but i wish him all the very best and have a suspicion he will succeed.2 points

If Newcastle speedway is about to be under new ownership for 2020 then i hope George English and the English family get the credit they deserve for their time and efforts over the years.2 points

"But for Kent/Plymouth it will be a condition of acceptance because if they step up then it would likely lead to the collapse of the NDL league ." Them running NDL won't be a condition of acceptance at all, it will be based on a voluntary decision they have made to do so...IF they do, and since Len Silver has already indicated he will it is a purely voluntary decision on his part.1 point
