Hopefully the monsoon season is over and we get a meeting this Friday . Should be a straightforward three points for the Tigers as we are at home and don't need to be twenty points ahead by heat 11 to have a chance of hanging on . Been a turbulent season for the Diamonds , but hopefully their 75th team manager change since April.can galvanise some team spirit . It's a return for Ben Barker , and you just don't know what to expect from him . He'll be backed up by Matty Wethers . Apart from those two I dont expect too much from the rest and we should at least hit 55 . But the main thing is that the rain stays away and we enjoy an entertaining 15 heats .3 points

You’ve already said that, but however many times you repeat it it’s still nonsense3 points

I certainly wouldn't call it cheating, I never used that word. Ultimately it comes down to the governing body and their strength/weakness, if he's not fit enough to ride then he needs signing off for X number of days/weeks so that he can't ride anywhere, or if he is declared fit (I suspect he very much isn't) then he must crack on for both of his teams. As I said having him fit for one team and not the other looks awful and really shouldn't be allowed to happen.3 points

Some people just don't get it and probably never will, sport without integrity is absolutely pointless. Good for you, but many do and most of those I suspect don't go any more.3 points
-
I don't think Aces fans are that bothered, they are going to qualify for the Play Offs at a canter anyway. Its more to do with integrity, you have to admit that it really doesn't look very good for a rider to be fit to ride for one team but not another. If it was a Polish team and not Plymouth there would be absolute uproar!3 points
-
By Plymouth, not Ipswich. Look, we know how it is, you Belle Vue fans would much rather see a half fit Crump struggle to a few points to give your team a much better chance to grab 3 or even 4 points (you might still get them anyway!), we get it. As I’ve already said, if Plymouth were prepared to take the hit and still include him without him being 100% fit, then that’s their prerogative. What’s that got to do with Ipswich? Their stance, is they’re going to wait until he’s 100% and will do the team justice, which surely they’re more than entitled to do? I’ve even seen Ipswich fans question Ipswich here which to be honest, has totally baffled me. Why should Ipswich give their opponents an advantage before the tapes rise in the first heat by fielding a 45 year old bloke who only a few weeks ago broke 8 ribs and isn’t yet totally fit? Are you THAT desperate for success??? Ipswich have a business to run, have little to no chance of making the play offs, and up until Monday had lost 7 matches on the spin. They need supporters through the gate as much as everyone else so they’re quite right not to gamble on the fitness of their number 1 until he’s back to full fitness. To me it’s very simple!3 points

Two successive lasts for Danny. Maybe he's knackered after his 18 holes of golf earlier today...2 points

Just checked the 2020 rule book and I've copied and pasted those rules which it would appear will apply for 2021:- 2020 SCB Rulebook 012.1.1 Premiership & Championship Leagues Championship League, teams will meet on 2 occasions, 1 home and 1 away. The League will then split into a North South divide and those clubs will meet additionally on 2 occasions, 1 home and 1 away. The quarter finals will consist of the 3rd v 6th placed team and 5th v 4th placed team, the top 2 teams will go direct to the semi final. The team who finishes at the top will have the pick of the quarter final winner in the semi final. Can't see anywhere whether or not we will actually ride again against teams under the North/South divide this year with the season starting late, and whether or not it could possibly influence whether or not there'll be quarter finals.2 points

Bored now.... if you cant beat them... join them. ive had enough, staying at home. sport is a joke2 points

Thanks for the confirmation Neil I thought I was right The guesting rule seems to confuse some people but it’s understandable when it doesn’t suit your team. I wouldn’t want us to be accused of cheating. Sedgeman is on the market now for any teams with injured riders looking for replacements2 points
-
Why don't the people on this forum check their facts before posting on here. I am told after asking and checking that to have a guest for a injured rider the injured rider has to have medical certificate. Crumps average is higher than Sam's, so it's all legal apparently, I think the country is turning into Boris Johnson clones if you repeat something enough it then becomes fact. At the end of the day you win nothing so just try and enjoy the racing, because sadly it is killing itself.2 points

Jason Crump was named in the Plymouth line up for their match at Glasgow 0n the 2nd of July. The important fact is that meeting never took place so other than his all to early come back at Ipswich he has not ridden for any club in British speedway. It is my opinion that we return to his initial medical certificate from the incident at Wolves on May 31st. Maybe Crump/Ipswich should provide an updated certificate but we all know he broke 8 ribs & was very knocked about. We all know that injured speedway riders bravery/stupidity levels are questionable & we have seen riders carried to their bikes in championship events Collins, Carter & Tatum to name just 3 but this is British league & as much as it's our life blood it is not for a world championship.2 points

Why not go the whole hog and have a retractable roof built over the stadium, just as they do at Wimbledon and Cardiff? In fact, why not make that a condition for all clubs to have, then we could all enjoy speedway come rain or shine….2 points

Agree. We could of had Lawson for Ty, and still been under the limit. As for Bridger, Almost everyone knew he wouldn't do a season. Must of cost Buster a few quid.. Bet he won't make that mistake again.2 points
-
Sorry disagree. Plymouth and Ipswich are not one entity. One club is prepared to let an unfit rider ride, another isn’t. So you’re saying because Plymouth are prepared to let him ride through the pain barrier and ride whilst not 100% fit, then for the “integrity” Ipswich should do likewise? Nah not having that sorry. Ipswich are entitled to make their own private decision regardless of what Plymouth decide. They will have spoken to Crump at length no doubt about it. They’ll know more than any of us if he was going to do himself justice. They’ve decided against it. Their prerogative to do so. Bugger all to do with anyone else. Hardly cheating is it? Oh and disagree about Belle Vue fans not being bothered either. They’ll want to top the table, no doubt about it.2 points

The sacking of Craig Cook is what everything comes down to. Should've got rid of Proctor & Bridger for Lawson and one other. Cook, Lawson, TJ, Riss & Kerr as a Top 5 would've got you a Play-Off place imo.2 points

Agree with you... well at least 66.6% Killer falls off if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction and he seemed alright with it after the incident With Lahti, Nicki didn't move off his line, was marginally in front when Lahti came off, there was still a lot of track left to ride and the throttle goes both ways Birkemose would do well to wind his neck in and show a bit more respect to the 3 x World Champ, all his histrionics after the incident was embarrassing To be involved in 3 incidents in one night is unusual and the law of averages says there's going to be one wrong decision, no excuse for any alleged violent behaviour but nothing wrong with a frank exchange of opinions2 points

Hospital admissions are way below the prediction made by the experts (which shows just how wrong they are) and the NHS is under no increased pressure from Covid. The experts predicted 60,000 daily by now and they are way off the mark. The truth is the variant isn’t a real issue to the UK right now. The sooner we get used to living with this virus the better, it’s going nowhere. So long as hospital admissions don’t start rising at an alarming rate (they aren’t) and deaths don’t start increasing at a rapid rate (they aren’t) then it’s time to start moving forward as a nation. The vaccine is doing its job (as well as killing some too).2 points

Personally, i would have used a buggy if i was riding in a meeting just a few hours later, but then i'm the extreme professional lazy bugga...1 point

Perhaps he should've got Cam to carry his clubs today to conserve energy...1 point

The rule is that you can use the grade that was available to you with your initial lineup. That changes when you re-declare. Don't blame us, it's the rules.1 point

But then you'd have to endure them in audio form from Michael Max!1 point

I’ve posted many times recently that team line-ups are agreed in advance by both teams, the referee and the governing body - by definition a declared team line-up is correct.1 point

Honestly Score... 59 - 31 just saved from the 60 point mark by and astute tactical substitution by the Diamonds 76th team manager Steve Pate... Should be a formality for the Tigers but if it ends up squally on a damp track with grip on the bends and slick up the straights; a south easterly breeze and the temperature doesn't get over 15 degrees (so a hot summers day for Glasgow) and a referee who had his leg over in the afternoon and the Tigers team all have a touch of "Delhi Belly" off the curry the night before well maybe; just maybe 48 - 42 and the Diamonds sneak a point... Oh dear then a woke up; the day dream was over and had to get back to work... never mind... as long as its entertaining and everyone enjoys it and of course no one gets hurt... and the beer is cold of course which goes without saying really... enjoy... I will follow proceedings on the updates... Regards THJ1 point

There is plenty wrong at Lynn at the moment but you do go a little OTT at times. What's been good over the last four years.....well 2018 was very good and we only missed out on the title because of injuries in the Pkay Offs, we were comfortably the best team despite being tipped to finish bottom. Robert Lambert. Thomas Jorgensen. Richard Lawson. Signing Sam Hagon. All positives, far outweighed by negatives I'd agree but positives nonetheless.1 point

Aces fans absolutely do not want to see a half fit Crump limping round, we love him, he’s an Ace. We wanted to see the 2021 Crump ride with his 6.09 average but instead we have maximum man Masters on his 8.00 average. “Are you ok to ride Jason, sure am I’m riding for Plymouth tonight. Is it ok if we leave you out as we can get a much better rider than you even if fully fit? Er ok, won’t that look bad. Don’t care!”1 point

More fingers in ears and la la la I don't agree with the Crump situation - it's more of the same As a result of this and the other factors have built up I am not attending so no I'm not fine with it!!1 point

This side even with Robert Lambert in it would struggle does it really matter who the manager is? Chapman is the man who should take the flak he built the side for me Peter is just a scapegoat.1 point

It's not too often that Terry Tibbs talks speedway these days but when I do, people say Terry you're still the man! So Kings Lynn fans talk to me! I've told Busty so many times that unless his brings back Main Man Rogers into the fold that the sport in the Fluxing Arena of Eastern England is on a slope more slippy, than the EU butter mountains. I had a lunch with little Johnny C in the Wimpy in Chingford High Street just last week, after 2 Milk Shakes and a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, little Johnny C agreed that there is only one man to bring back the glory days and that is Main Man Rogers! I have sent Busty a telex telling him he needs to quickly contact The Ace that is Mase and agree a deal for Main Man Rogers to return with immediate effect. The German chap was ever so nice, in fact my 4th wife Greta had a liaison with him once in Krystof Stojanowski's caravan in the car park of the Smallbrook Stadium on the Island of Wight, but that's a different matter for now! Answer me this, is there is a man with more credentials that Main Man Rogers - the answer is simply no! Look what he did for the career of Bomabardier Harris, turned him into a near GP Gold Meadlist. Don't forget what he did at Coventry Speedway, the way he mentored Big Blayne Scroggins into probably their greatest team manager of all time and of course his success at turning Mildenhall Fen Tigers from the FSO's of the sport to the BMW's! Talking of BMW's my valet boy Christopher Mills, is around to do a bit of spannering if any of you are looking for someone who is handy with a wrench, whilst my business Jimmy Lynch is busy with that wench Audrey he met at the Chinford British Legion just before lockdown in January 2020! But once again I digress. I could go on for hours, but we need to act fast Listen to Terry, bring back Main Man Rogers, Busty! Thank you, goodbye, much looove!!!1 point

Penhall the obvious one as is the aforementioned Dag. In terms of his English career what about Ulf Lovaas? Others to consider....Jim Airey (again in terms of his British career), Dave Shields, Wayne Brown, David Biles, Dave Tyler.1 point

Ellis has a rolling ave from Birmingham in 2019, so shouldn't need 4H & 4A to get an ave. His Prem converted ave should be replaced by his Champ rolling ave on 1st August!1 point

Dag Lovaas was only 25 during his final British season (1976), having reached the world final in 1974 and won the league with a 10pt+ average in 1973 riding for Reading. He also averaged over 10 for Hackney (74) and Oxford (75). I believe his retirement was complete and he did not ride domestically after leaving British speedway.1 point

Having stood on the Lynn terraces and had at different times had 2 bikes (David Norris was one, forgot the other) and one rider ( Dukie Ermolenko) fly over the fence and land within feet of me, I was quite pleased to see the fencing installed. The benefit of safety far outweighs the very small effect on the view.1 point

Of the three incidents, the only one I would have excluded him for was Ht18. In Ht4, Kildemand used the old dying swan act. Known for it. Ht20, Birkmose showed his lack of experience going into a turn. He left a gap which Nicki exploited. I dont blame him for wanting an explanation from the referee. Maybe he went over the top, I dont know, I wasnt there. Just my opinion, of course.1 point

WIGHTLINK WARRIORS BRING IN ALEX SPOONER RATHER THAN LATER Wightlink Warriors team boss Steve Piper has only been in post just a few days, but has wasted absolutely no time in tying up arrangements to bring in Essex based Alex Spooner to the Warriors team following approval for him to ride on the Island. Steve said, “I know that Barry and Martin were hugely impressed with Alex at a recent My First Skid event on the Island and once they passed this on to me, I felt he would fit in well to the quartet I have in mind. Alex is a committed rider looking to expand on his current racing arrangements and has always caught the eye of the Warriors management, previously receiving regular invitations to open meetings at Smallbrook where possible. Let’s welcome Alex to the club - we are sure he is going to do us all proud.” Talking about coming to the nation’s largest track Alex said, “I’m grateful to get the opportunity to ride on the Island this year! Like every rider it’s about racing your bike, improving and entertaining the fans, which I hope to do! Now we have the green light, I want to leave the politics behind and use these meetings to gain more experience and track time in a very quiet season while entertaining the fans and sponsors in what look to be some very entertaining meetings.” The admission pricing structure for the seven meeting Summer Spectacular series was also confirmed today as follows: On The Day Admission (cash only at the turnstile): Adults (17 and over): £12.00 Seniors (OAP’s), Service Personnel & Students (with ID cards): £10.00 Children (16 and under): Free if accompanied by a paying adult Visitors with additional needs: One carer free per paying guest A match day programme will be £2.001 point
