I wish the people involved with the work to return speedway all the best. It must be hard to stay positive when it appears the odds are stacked against you. However, as it has been said, Oxford's revival is a beacon pf optimism. I have lost the two tracks I supported - Coventry and Reading - an I feel fortunate that having moved into the area I will be able to see speedway again on a regular basis. For that I have to thank those whose hard work and persistence hard got Oxford back when it looked t as if they were lost for ever. I am still hoping that speedway will return to Coventry, though I think at Reading i it s very unlikely. Those who denigrate the efforts of the ones who work hard to keep speedway going are the sad ones.4 points

You mean like it is at EVERY track! You don’t like Godfrey, we get it, but don’t come on here asking personal questions about his opinions when you aren’t prepared to ask him yourself. I doubt he’s going to answer you back on a forum.3 points

Really? Holder is pretty one dimensional. Fricke has qualified for GP's, won GP's, Holder hasn't.3 points

I don't know why the chap had a go at you, seemingly for no apparent reason. Personally I find your posts informative and helpful. You manage to provide factual information without any of the tedious "I know more than you and I'm not telling you everything" attitude which seems oddly prevalent within Speedway circles. What I want from a sporting website is simple: Up to date fixtures, results and statistical stuff. As long as the new website can provide that, I'm happy3 points

Dont write off Redcar. Excellent top 4. Plus if Adam Roynon can up his 5.21 average a bit (coming in with a great attitude, new equipment & reasonable, almost injury free year, at Newcastle last year). Plus if one or both of the 2 reserves (who both impressed at time last year) can put in a good year. I fancy an upset here to what you call the southern dominance. The Northern Powerhouse!!!2 points

In all honesty, you haven't been to a meeting for around 20 years and have often said you lost interest in the sport around 50 years ago. So why d you still try to disrupt things and annoy people within the sport ? There must be some hidden issues at work here2 points

Well I beg to differ :- poole Scunthorpe Plymouth glasgow oxford redcar2 points

Personally, I think that would be a backward step for speedway. I think the sport needs to move towards a more professional approach where riders are with ONE club only, but I know that very few in the UK agree with me on that.2 points

Wouldn't disagree with that. Down to injuries as much as anything as usual too.1 point

Great to see work on the Track has started in earnest now with all the shale being removed to the base before its built back up with new material and bladed. Great work by the Promotion. Thank You1 point

I think its wide open imo I would only rule out Birmingham and Newcastle to be in with a chance of the playoffs.1 point

Just been on the Discovery+ and it seems you ok logging into a Wi-Fi away from home in the uk. You will need your account details with you. Also showed a comprehensive list of what is compatible. For phones, tablets, pc, there is an app. I use the Rocku box I have, get a Roku Express for about £28.1 point

Never been to a Scunthorpe meeting when there hasn’t been some sort of second half racing so never been an issue and cash doesn’t come into it as it costs no extra to have upto eight races after the main match. As for rider availability, all the other Friday night tracks run junior teams and second half’s so that suggests the riders are out there. ’JJ ‘ has a problem with Godfrey , that’s his issue. Hope to see Birmingham get some promising juniors of their own and run in a league, whatever it gets called.1 point

I personally think you're just a misery John and probably because your life is at the point where you have little to occupy you generally, you find pleasure in being disruptive as you're jealous of others having a life. Harsh to even type that, but i can think of no other reason really. You live nearby in a reasonably nice part of london with plenty of green space near you and good local bits and bobs for the retired to get involved in - to seemingly get off on winding people up on here is ridiculous. As others have said before, someone of your age should be an asset to the forum, not a hinderance.1 point

Just a reminder that the Colin Jewes' speedwaychampions website is up and running again (though no longer updated) at a new web adress https://speedwaychampions.yolasite.com/1 point

As much as 1 club rider's sound good it's unsustainable. Even Sweden & Poland allow doubling up/down to an extent. All we should do here is stop double for rider's that have teams abroad.1 point

James, my message to Hyam also applies to you. You have previously accused us of being 'Dreamers living in La La Land' then later as bullies trying to force a poor innocent landlord to do what we want. We have and are putting in a great deal of unpaid work and I'm dam ed if we deserve the infantile rubbish from you. If you are trying to call be a liar then do so properly. We could use the libel damages to help fund the campaign. Just w he at ma me es you think you have the right to be so offensive to us. Since when is it s crime to try to save our speedway. It took Oxford 15 years.., If you and Hyam wonder why news is often not published here just read your offensive postings and try to work it out. Just who the hell do you think you people are?1 point

John, there is little change to my message dated 1/2/22. I thought I was being quite thorough there. Quite frankly, after the crass mischief you have caused us here and in Facebook you are the last person whose demands I would feel obliged to answer. EVEN IF YOU TYPE IN CAPITALS. If there is significant news we publish it, normally in more reliable places than this. Yes,matters are progressing, albeit slowly but lawyers are involved and it inevitably is drawn out. It is a battle of wills and I can assure you I will NOT compromise our work by releasing information prematurely to you. If you are trying to suggest that we are lying and nothing is going on please stop insinuating and state openly your motivation in this harassment. Our barrister loves defamation work. Can you leave us to get in with an incredibly complex task in peace please? We are all working as volunteers so please take off the cardboard 'investigatve reporter' hat.1 point

Reading between the lines someone thinks that Poland will not be allowed to restrict what leagues riders under contract to them can ride in outside Poland. However if This is passed i can not see anything changing as Poland have all the muscle over the riders.1 point

I never mentioned rules in the post, no rules will be changed in British speedway. Dont worry.1 point
-
Certainly hope there's no rule change this late in the day. Totally unfair on the rest of the league. Any big rule changes now shouldn't come in to effect until 20231 point

Could be another few weeks. ..there's alot of stuff happening behind the scenes in what could be a massive boost for British speedway. And in what could see an influx of riders returning to British shores. All because of Mark lemon and Adrian Smith.1 point

be prepared for a year of southern dominance, oxford, plymouth and poole the top three in any order,no levelling up in speedway!!1 point

Seeing as it doesn't look like he's going to answer your question (there's a surprise), I will answer it. It's quite simple really, neither the current nor previous Promotions have asked me to post anything on here. All posts are on my own initiative because I want as many to see whatever I'm posting as possible, as I want the club to be a success, no matter who is at the helm. Not all are on Facebook, so, if it's on FB and not on the website, I will put it on here (sometimes it's on FB, then they put it on the website a short while later, but I've already put it on here!). Hope that clears that up!1 point

It's as Bagpuss has said, keeping the supporters and media engaged ...... simple as. Re the numbers, they have thousands of followers so if more were to share with their followers the word would reach many, many more, that's how it should work but fans don't seem to get it ......1 point

Well the website has always been crap so best you don’t help out again. As for a mouthpiece, you post a hell of a lot of stuff that nobody else has access too, so yes you are a ‘mouthpiece’ own desire or not.1 point
-
Why don’t you? It would appear that the promotion use you as a mouthpiece anyway.1 point

Having started this thread on 23 January 2020 with the following post:- Just seen Kevin Jolly has plans for Rye House for entry into NDL for 2020, any views on this. Think it would be great. I have nothing but admiration for your efforts Rob, keep up the brilliant work and hopefully it will bear fruit.1 point
