  1. Let's go back to 2018 when The CHAIRMAN lost a rider to injury so gave himself a Guest ALL season and even cancelled others Clubs Fixtures so he could get a suitable Guest. Let's look at the failure post Brexit to be prepared for Visa delays that were clearly going to happen Let's look at the failure to put some sort of limit on the combined average of top 3 heat leaders. Let's look at the closed shop that is the PL meaning not enough riders to stock 11 CL Clubs to a more level playing field. It's far deeper than Newcastle, Birmingham and Plymouth. They are victims of the system as opposed to them being the perpetrators. The sport is run by a cartel, for the cartel full of their own agendas. Start with an inpedendent Governing body, separate the SCB which the BSPL have effectively taken over and neutered.

  3. You have to just laugh at the tossers that know nothing about nothing just like certain members that like to slag the promotion off when they are working so damn hard but if they think they could do better they should maybe turn up and come do some track work if not just shut up and that’s not directed at you bloom Paul does get paid as do all the riders so people need to concentrate with there own clubs instead of commenting on ours

  4. I believe the above totally unfair. Before you think this is the views of a fan of any particular team May I point out I am in Dorset and had a season ticket at Poole for 16 years. Plymouth signed Kennett some time ago, I think he was one of their first signings. Yes he thought he had to pull out but later agreed to sign. He fell in his first ride and the injury is bad as it opened a earlier injury. I agree that this could be the end of his career but Plymouth have been looking high and low for a replacement but the rules abroad and BSPA have stumped them. Then Gilles had a very serious injury and Atkins for some reason quit the club. How are clubs going to find riders when there are none there.

  6. It's UK Speedway.... It doesnt really matter... Just go along and hopefully enjoy a good evenings entertainment... There is pretty much no kudos in victory, no major financial reward, and hardly any media coverage other than the odd mention in a few papers for the play off winners allied to good coverage in the Speedway Star, so it really doesn't matter who wins any league.. What does matter is that teams win at home most weeks and stay solvent, which ensure riders who spend tens of thousands on kit are able to ride on many nights of the year to justify their expense.. The sport has been ran in a "bit Mickey Mouse" way for decades so it wont ever change.. It still has the capability to deliver a cracking night out, and the racing today is as least as good as I can ever remember, so just go along and enjoy what is on offer.. You might be even be lucky enough to be there for Bomber's 100th appearance of the season...

  9. It's not discrimination it's preparing riders for the future who might actually have the ability to win the thing. I'm reminded of a pairs event last season, Denmark sent Kevin juhl pedersen and mads Hansen. Britain sent Harris. I don't see the benefit of it myself

  10. Whilst I agree with you that it's not good for speedway, this thing seems to happen every season. Take last season, Peterborough won the league using guests and r/r for most of the season. Since it's easy to get riders why did Peterborough not bother having a full 1-7 (oh yes they were stronger without signing another rider).

  11. Erm what a load of rubbish. The changes were made years ago and the alterations were done perfectly but the lack of investment into the track and the fact it has got more and more down to the base is not anything to do with the way it was handled at the time. If the track had more shale added and been looked after the problem wouldn’t exist, the lack of shale has exposed the base of the track and led to the present position. I am sick of the excuses pointing a finger at the old promotion, yes there was issues but the problem with the track, team and the comms are all down to the present owners.

  15. Of course they wasn’t. There is no trust in speedway. it’s a sport where the fans are last on there list of priorities

  18. You know nothing about Newcastle speedway or the promotion so maybe you need to shut your mouth you wouldn’t put in the work that the promotion does at brough park stick with ya panthers bollocks

  19. First it was Newcastle, Then it was Plymouth now it's Birmingham. Shady contracts being handed out with full intention of using guests throughout the season rather than a fully signed 1-7. This years SGB CHAMPIONSHIP is a total shambles imo and it's only just started. I think from 2023 onwards the whole league structure needs a re-think with contracts being double checked by the governing body of the sport because it's the fans who'll lose out eventually. Rider availability will become an issue once injures pile up, Premiership HL's riding in the Championship will soon see current GSA's sky rocket that'll rule them out of guesting and no forgetting inevitable fixture clashes in the future. It's the fans who will lose out when those three clubs eventually end up booking 5.00 point riders to guest as a No.1 or a No.5 whilst being asked to pay full price for an uncompetitive team. Especially those who brought season tickets in advance.

  20. I remember about 8 years back our former promoter/manager George English asked me to go to the 3rd&4th bend to dig some of the grass out that was growing over the kerb and spreading onto the track which was done & we ( the track team at the time went all the way around the track cleaning up the kerb area which was just below in some parts & level with track in other parts which at the moment yeah it's a bit worse but not what some of the people who have took it to the extreme on being dangerous on SOCIAL MEDIA..& even when Martin Phillips joined the promotion we even tried sorting out the drainage on the 1st bend then but as rob grant has stated in his update on track work ( in some part the drain is blocked which probably would need some of the centre green to be dug up to repair & how much would that cost) so let's give the promotion a chance to do there best for Newcastle speedway & hopefully get some more good racing at Newcastle this season

  21. So you're suggestion is... See that bit concrete you can see now, we're going to hide it with the wee bit shale that's lying there so now it's a lottery what will happen when you go over it. Right clever that

  22. Did they have a pneumatic drill and 100 tonnes of shale handy aye? Never read so much BS in a long time... Which for BSF is going some!!!

  23. I think you mean rob and no I’m not rob I just think it’s crap blaming rob when he saved the club twice already having forked out a mint last year to make sure we had a team and I think you have a cheek to call yourself diamondboy try backing your promotion

  24. Last time i went to glasgow had to stand for 90 mins while they sorted the track out before being called off (sure was against leicester) reading todays "star" pity mr brown didnt let newcastle have the same time to repair the track on sunday. The phrase i would have wanted it called off even if we wernt 2 in front is just a p*** take

  26. If the dentist did some work but you decided to not look after the work then it’s likely it won’t last very long no matter if it’s a short term fix. No bad blood from me but seeing a lot of bad leadership and decision making and I just wait for the next plea that the club is struggling financially. I’m not affiliated with the old promotion but it like the government blaming the current mess in this country on COVID, it’s not the cause but a factor and an easy excuse to hide poor leadership. It’s very easy to point fingers at a promotion that brought speedway back to Newcastle and kept it afloat for 20 odd years when things start going wrong but the club has majority struggled this last couple of seasons both on and off the track when those who have held the fort for years have moved on.

  29. So you admit you don’t know what you’re talking about “ I don’t know wot check’s are made “ but have plenty to say how it should be done ? The match referee checks the track prior to EVERY meeting, he’s an ‘ appointed official’ and each track is inspected prior to an SCB track licence being issued. As previously stated in a prior post ( which you seem to have ignored ) the inspection will only show what’s on the surface not what’s going on underneath or what develops as the meeting progresses. Now you do know ….

  32. Once again I need to tell you it was not a shoddy job. If it was how come it has lasted over 20 years of annual racing, and has only now appeared due to the lack on shale on the 1st/2nd bends.

  33. Hats off to Harris Wright and Nicholls, superb action in heats 13 and 15. Great meeting with good action and the odd couple of controversial refereeing decisions. Track was superb with several lines and gates much more even.

  36. So just when did Brough Park become Rough Park? I remember visiting in the 70s to see the great Diamonds team with the Owen Brothers overseen by the late Ian Thomas and the track never seemed to be problematic. Likewise in the early 2000s. So is it down to neglect, poor maintenance and mis- management or is the old lady just starting to show her age?

  38. Didn’t go to first 2 meetings but crowd last night seemed similar to previous Redcar visit in the Cup. I saw somewhere that it is still online ticket since they have no turnstiles yet. Not sure if that is true or not. They don’t have turnstiles. Tickets on line were available right up to start time. My tickets QR code got scanned by phone by 1 of two young ladies at the entrance. It may be it is online so no money having to be collected etc. It is easy to get the online tickets and the car parking etc and entry to the track is very easy. Saw some old faces from the Abbey this week and had a chat to another regular Swindon visitor.

  40. Whilst you are clearly protective of Rob and the Newcastle track coming on here and chucking insults at people only paints the club in a worse light. Newcastle aren't the first or last club to have problems but sadly they do seem to fall into the denial/lack of openness approach which fans up and down the country see straight through.

  41. Watched on Poole livestream. Diamonds tried hard and contributed to some good heats. First time on the Poole stream and thought it was pretty good and to me was fair value so might use it again in future. Anyone else watch it.

  42. It was a failure as well... EDIT: I'm not trying to be negative about everything. This "new" UEM competition is just another example of top-end development that basically is just a chance for someone to TRY and make a quick buck. It does not help IMO grassroots, from where there are no riders coming to take part in this competition in five to ten years time.

  44. Maybe a cost cutting exercise as Bomber already has the kevlars Actually all joking apart, Bomber is riding as well as anyone else these days and IMHO deserves to be in the team. Whether we should be field a younger team is up for debate and equally I think Tom Brennan deserves his place in the team ahead of Ellis. The only way the likes of Brennan, Palin and even Kemp are going to get better is by gaining more experience by riding against the best from other countries.
