So he can get a Premiership place but not a Championship place?! He clearly needs a middle tier spot, rather than NL, for his overall development but that’s British Speedway all over!4 points

They stopped doing stats in the Peterborough Programme a few years ago and as for the reading content thats something I have suggested for years but it’s in short supply. At £3.00 I just don’t think they are worth buying, I do get a copy with my ST but if they didn’t I doubt I would buy one.3 points

Marcin Nowak will be on the inside. He’ll be the only one, but you’ll want to get out of the way fast when he appears!3 points

Dont see why Peterborough dont just bide there time and see what happens with rider availability in the new year with the last two riders , there maybe someone who could change there mind and want to ride in the Uk that fits the jigsaw , ok it could be a gamble but it could be a gamble that has very good results.3 points

Exciting watch there will be plenty room on the inside of the track they'll only need to grade a metre from the fence lol3 points

I didn't know that either but after you said, I found this. https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/speedway/mayor-rugby-tony-gillias-gets-72073243 points

Richie Worrall actually won more races around Peterborough last season in three meetings than Andersen won all season. Worrall scored 9+1, 8+1 & 8+1 in those meetings. For me Andersen would be a very very lucky man if he gets a job in the premier League and a poor signing for panthers in what looks a strong side.2 points

That is because fans automatically compare it to last year's team (been guilty of it myself!) whereas you need to compare it to other teams. I guess, but he might know all of that anyway.2 points

Not a convincing signing, but no doubt be on some good equipment this year.Jury is out on this team for me,but it will be an exciting watch. Definitely need Vissing on his 5 average and to score big.2 points

The minimum average in theory prevents teams from using a complete no-hoper on a 0.5 average and only giving him three rides a meeting while building stronger with the other six. Teams don’t need a leg up by being allowed to sign the best rider in the league on an average that’s been discounted by almost a point-and-a-half.2 points

It does make me laugh that so many say Ipswich can't afford to sign a 2nd big name to back up Doyle yet you see the same predicting Peterborough will name a big no1 backed up by NKI Holder and Basso....1 point

I'd sooner Peterborough let Ipswich have Worrall as his average was achieved mostly at reserve, than pay over the odds to sign him,, The best scenario is a big hitting #1 becomes available and perhaps use Hans , Tungate is ok at the showground but his away form is very patchy , it also pairs either Holder or NKI (if signed) to ride with Basso (if signed) and allows him to just improve further without any real pressure on him. If its a $1 also Peterborough would be in a strong position to accommodate him as all other teams would need radical changes to fit him in . You never know maybe someone like Dudek will lower his demands But its a gamble for sure.but could be 1, TBC 2 Hans 3 NKI , 4 Basso, 5 Holder, 6 B Cook , 7 Jenkins1 point

Luckily for Ipswich,, they probably have the biggest following of diehards,,, and they would still turn up if we were 10 points under the limit,,,, they would also think its a fantastic team,,, and everything is brilliant1 point

Fingers crossed here then. I like Jack and so does my lad. Didn't seem to give up too easily last time he rode for us, home or away.1 point

Jack Thomas might just fit then. Going from my memory (which isn't always the best idea!) he is 4.78 with reduction.1 point

Can't win it every year. Surely it will be someone else's turn next year, otherwise we might get banished to the Prem. Edit - although you would be in favour of that!1 point

More in depth look at the possible 1-7. Personally I'd rank Peterborough just behind table toppers Sheffield on paper. NKI (Out and Out No.1 around Peterborough who'll get you a double figure return every week at Home, Still good for 8-9 points on the road per meeting) Worrall/Andersen (Worrall solid for 5+2 or 6+1 almost every week, Andersen a huge worry if it's him at No.2 though as I really think it's one season too many) Tungate (Out and Out No.1 around Peterborough and the figures back that up, Just have to expect a poor points return on technical tracks) Basso (Basically won almost every race he was in towards the back end of last season around Peterborough, Will only improve again) Chris Holder (Smashed up the Ekstraliga last year so he won't have any problem in scoring 10+ a meeting almost every week) Ben Cook (Rated by Poole and they know a good Aussie talent when they see one, Poole are a very well run club by the Ford family who've introduced so many Aussie's to British Speedway and they've hit a Home run with the majority of them, Ben is only going to improve just like Basso. Jenkins (Earned his chance to comeback and he's probably the second strongest RS going into the next season if you take a more in depth look at things like riders returning from big injuries who may take a while to get the confidence back, Mulford doesn't even have a full year of Championship experience under his belt and Dan Thompson doesn't have a team place in the Championship to start with next season apparently) I'd personally like to see the No.2 berth given to Troy Batchelor though as I think he'd put up some really good numbers next season riding in the easy No.2 race jacket rather than having to ride at No.5 against the oppositions 1 & 5 constantly.1 point

unless we sign a young aussie to set the place alight cant see anything magical about the riders who are being mentioned for last three places .may not be so easy for us next time around1 point

He was reliable last time at Glasgow but I appreciate was unreliable for Brum. Given his injuries I wonder if be allowed to ride this season1 point

Lets hope he makes more appearances than Santa...? P.s I think that Tate Z could be heading to Brum!?1 point

"Same for me. When it came by Royal Mail it was almost 50/50 whether it was on time or late/delivered to wrong address/not at all. I'm now two mags missing no doubt the postal strike, if this week's isn't here by Saturday I'm going to get it from Tesco who have it in stock." Same here again, when it was delivered by courier it never arrived at all, ever, now 3 - 4 per year don't turn up. When delivered in brown envelope the mag was on time 99% of the time, was brilliant, now much less so. Local Asda & Tesco don't have any in stock, getting a tad fed up....1 point

why the need to build to the points limit with riders you know won't improve, i'd rather be under with riders that have improvement in them and want to be at the club1 point

Such a narrow minded view. Granted it won’t be the same, but to go from enjoying speedway (as I presume you do if you’re on this forum) to not watching it in your ‘back garden’ just because the bikes are electric is a bit crazy. What have you got such a big problem with that you’d completely flip like that? Noise? Smell? All motor sports will need to evolve over the coming years, and speedway is no different. If the bikes need to be electric, so be it, I will still be watching (admittedly while no doubt reminiscing of the past).1 point
