Iversen, Holder, Tungate, Basso and Richie Worrall is a very strong top 5 for me. Jenkins if he continues where he left off has the potential to be one of, if not the best rising star. That leaves Ben Cook who I haven't seen a bad word said about him3 points

Ipswich is a small club compared to Peterborough. When was the last time Ipswich won the league title?3 points

Latest set of photos on Facebook look fantastic it's going to be a wonderful place to watch the racing3 points

I'm advised that the 'BabelFish translator' converts the Russian word 'Sayfutdinov' into the English word 'Tungate'. Does this help the conundrum?3 points
-
Or maybe too expensive for what he is. Maybe you can get Emil or Nicki for similar money for what Tungate is asking for?3 points

Depends what you’re looking for as a fan. Would you rather pay your money and watch Emil? Or would you rather watch a Worrall/Cook combo (with all due respect to them) that would probably fetch more points? I’m with you I think I’d probably go for the strongest looking duo which gives the best chance of success. But I’ll bet there’s plenty who’d rather go for the Emil option even if that means looking weaker overall.2 points

If Peterborough get the rider's suggested the averages don't really matter as they'd have the quality throughout. Ipswich on the other hand would be dead, even with Sayfutdinov & Doyle as a top 22 points

Any reason why you keep quoting and answering yourself??2 points

so would be a no to Hume because he needs to be at no.6 Rew needs time at no.6 to learn the tracks etc. so really for me Hume can't be an option2 points

Well if he’s not in because he’s too expensive you can forget any thoughts of Emil or Nicki Pedersen!2 points

I had pleasure of meeting Emil in the services on M4 coming back from Cardiff around 10 years ago. He stopped what he was doing and took time to speak to us and posed for pictures. He really is one top guy and would be brilliant to see him here. He surely should have won World Championship a number of times by now and a true World class rider. i live 2 hours from the Showground but would have to make the trip to see him. Hope the rumours are true. Would be amazing to see him round the showground and will dominate as did Crumpy and Sully back in the day.2 points

The delay all makes perfect sense now. Ipswich have to wait until Peterborough sort their team first so they can then use whatever riders Peterborough decide they don’t want.2 points

No,,, Hume will start season on his above 4 average,,, his 25% is only for team building. So many people don't seem to be getting this1 point

That won’t be a problem we have several things like that planned throughout the season along with special 100 club events but want to gauge the interest before publishing any further commitment.1 point

He raced in the 1st division for league winners Krosno last season. Did 7 matches for a 6.97 average, which was around the same as Berge and Becker had in that league.1 point

Whether people rate him or want him in the team or not, IF he is in the side then the supporters will get behind him of that I have no doubt.1 point

Gotta say I find it impossible to suggest who will get the Wooden Spoon in the Prem, all the completed teams have positive sides to them, so it could be a very close league. Certainly closer than the Champ who have one team (Birmingham) who look far weaker than the rest. I've picked Leicester as the weakest looking side so far, but even they have a great top 4!1 point

I'm surprised your not coming on here saying nick Morris will miss some meetings, as you keep saying your in the know with all that's going on at Birmingham when in fact you not got a clue what's going on within the club.1 point

Absolutely. Never crossed my mind.. Although running the sport in a Mickey Mouse way, eg running meetings knowing several of the "draw cards" will be elsewhere, like so many have done over the last couple of decades as the UK power base eroded and overseas leagues took priority, will certainly have contributed to the demise of a fair few tracks I would suggest, as fans became disillusioned by what they were being served up.. As obviously everyone would... And no reason not to if the clubs plan in their seasons well and dont shoot themselves in the foot by running meetings knowing riders will be missing. (Like happens far far too often).. And no excuse either this year given so few home meetings to plan in for each team.. Could be a potentially decent season for UK Speedway in 2023, with a good few Polish top league riders over here, meaning the Premiership can be pushed and marketed more, so even more important its infrastructure backs up that increase in quality...1 point

Wow, he's got you rattled for a start I dont know the bloke or too much about him but he's obviously trying to get the fanbase engaged and heighten the anticipation and excitement for the new campaign after a poor seadon last year. Hes essentially promoting his new club, can't see too much wrong with that. He's essentially got folk talking about Peterborough Panthers and that can't be a bad thing.1 point

John and Chris Louis have steered the ship since 1989 and run the club as their sole business and not as a play thing or a tax dodge. much rather have them than a mick Horton thank you very much.1 point

Like I’ve said previous if that’s team somebody is gonna lose a lot of money …,nobody is gonna pay too dollar to watch that team get turned over on a regular basis …as for worrall he’s on a average where lynn wouldn’t have him which says it all1 point

You have missed their point of view. They won't be happy until birmingham have been driven into the ground and closed down so that they can come on here and say they told you so.1 point

Great Nephew he is Geoff James is 14/15 years older than some of the riders! Perfect guy for the job he is!1 point

I don't mean it in a my club is bigger than yours kind of way lol. What I mean is this. Ipswich probably have verbal agreements in place with a couple of riders ranging from second string to heat leaders but they can't actually offer one of them a contract to sign as it stands until they know how many points they'll have left to use on the final rider. That's the only other reason I can think of as to why the delay has been so lengthy at Ipswich if it's nothing to do with Emil.1 point

I know it's not a Premiership fixture but there's no reason Lion's can't put the Jubilee Trophy fixtures on their own Web site!1 point

He rode for the Bees once at the Showground, he flew around the track. I spoke to Emil after the meeting and he said it was his favourite track in the UK.1 point

To be fair to Arthur and his ilk . It's tough for them to understand how things are in the Championship . There are two types of rider in our league . Those who ride for Glasgow Tigers and those who wish they rode for Glasgow Tigers . Now the pressure of having such an accolade placed upon them has proved too heavy a burden on some of them in the past . But this septet assembled for 2023 look a terrifying prospect for the rest of the league . And you can only see the pride of Scotland steamrollering their way through the season .1 point

Trying to win an argument by claiming someone's views should not be given an airing because of a "brain injury" is a bit low. I find PC's points of view fascinating, and if I were him, I would be more critical about the genuine injuries he sustained while riding for the Aces—the leg in 1977 and the shoulder in 1980—which cost him at least another title and another three or four years at the top. Having read the book, both injuries were the club's fault. Added to that, Belle Vue knew his father had died but didn't tell him until after he'd scored a 12-point maximum for them. I'd have gone ape. Even more illuminating, the poster worried about PC's account of his career being affected by his brain haemorrhage doesn't seem to shy away from criticising someone like Barry Ayres for not succeeding in his racing career. By all means, give free admission to anyone who rode for the Aces. The truth is though... speedway is so far from the halcyon days when most of them raced.... they wouldn't even want to attend.1 point
