Perhaps difference will be Stewart won't accept sub standard performances and let's the riders know about it when not up to standard. Might get him out the comfort zone he's clearly been in last few years? Pretty strong top 5 considering the reduced limit imo4 points

With Tate and Antti Vuolas signed it’s a great move 2 young exciting riders who will hopefully stay with the club and progress. Looking forward to watching to them at NS3 points

Happy that the Comets are back where they belong, great start to the team building but more importantly many thanks to Andrew. Steve and the rest of the promotional team for bringing back Speedway to West Cumbria. Never thought I would see the Comets back where they belong. Whatever team we put out it’s now down to us the Comets fans to support the promotion and the club in 2024 Give us a C3 points

No idea, but whatever the rights and wrongs that is incredibly cringeworthy and doesn't do anyone any favours.2 points

If that were true, why not give Katie Gordon the number 7 spot? Obviously they want to sign someone stronger, so winning does come into it. Clubs will still want to be competitive - not suggesting this would happen to Redcar, but if a team got thrashed every week & no fans turned up, leading to the club pulling out the following season, there would be even less spaces for developing riders.2 points

One thing he did say that made me laugh. "It's only a 20 minute drive from Wolverhampton when the roads are clear" I'm guessing Brummies Home Matches will start at 3am with a 5am curfew2 points

That is true but their application will probably fail because they are keeping the speedway out and not adhering to the local plan. If PCC hold firm and AEPG can't wriggle out LP 30 then they are going to have to negotiate with Chapman's representatives at some point one assumes?2 points

Very pleased to have Jye back to solidify the team's home scoring. The Jye who rode home and away against Plymouth, and played a (very) big part in winning the Premiership for Sheffield in their last match, will do very nicely.2 points

Cook as Poole's 4th "heat leader" has an average of 6.22. other teams 3rd heat leaders are Etheridge (5.91), Thompson (6.48), Flint (6.56), Jenkins (5.98), Newman (5.65), Jorgensen (6.39). So Cook is not far behind the best 3rd heat leaders in the league & stronger than the weakest. In a 38 point league, I'd say Poole certainly have "4 heat leaders"2 points

He would have been one of the 1st picks if that was the case.So it down to how the Team was assembled and there not many Berwick fans reckoned he wouldn’t be back given his circumstances. He was generally poor away last season.1 point

1) if he was more consistent he'd have a 7+ average & wouldn't fit in the team 2) who would you pick instead?1 point

If his gating is consistently good it will certainly help. To quote Danny's own words in the Echo he stated: “I’ve been watching his meetings from last year as much as I can, on YouTube and stuff, and he’s certainly got the gating gloves, which I feel will help him massively He also stated that he has improved as a rider over the last few years since we last saw him in UK. Time will tell, but let's hope that's the case. The reality is that much as i would love to have seen a potential young future World/GP Star, the Champ is now a weaker Lge than it ever was with the 38 point limit and with so many young/inexperienced and also not so great riders lower down. You don't need to be a star to score decent points if you can gate consistently well. I'm slowly talking myself round to accepting him .1 point

Why a ‘waste’ ? Its supposed to be a DEVELOPMENT league so why not give someone NEW a chance ? It’s not supposed to be about winning at all costs .1 point
-
OK, so no Joe T then, but I think that makes the team weaker with Zach as 3rd heat leader. I think there is more improvement in Zach and Toby as 2nd strings than Anders and Kyle. Just my opinion.1 point

Why would he deserve it? Am I missing something as usual! Edit - FB looks like you have confirmed you don't like Tom!1 point

At least he's trying ....If he gets 2 good riders and people dont go what more can he do ...1 point

If the application fails then AEPG lose out as well as their plans don’t get approved and their debts keep getting bigger, at some point concessions are likely to have to be made to get the planning applications passed. AEPG and the speedway club need to sit round a table and sort it out to the benefit of both, at the moment AEPG seem unwilling to talk or compromise but that could change of course.1 point

Correct however IP30 and IP36 state if so they'll need to find an alternative venue. I know which one is cheaper1 point

We used to get chat like this with Sandu, Ford, Rathbone etc. Seen all this before. Guess what happens next?? That's right, they're booted out by stadium owners or the establishment eventually. If you want to chat big about your finances, build a safe & secure track for the clubs future first & foremost rather ego boosting waste on GP rider's. It's absolutely horrific this stuff gets dished out, building up the fans only then to see their clubs gone within 5yrs of this such nonsense1 point

Don’t see a lot wrong with this Poole Team.On the track that matters we will have to wait and see.1 point

Would’ve been great if he only rode 3 meetings all season. What about the other 20 when he didn’t show up? Zero consistency, shouldn’t be in the team.1 point

after weeks of no news they are coming fast now looking forward to the new season and to see what the next level of racing brings yes there will be faster riders and track record will be lowered byt will the racing be as good ??? higher level does not always bring better racing as we found out last year some real good entertaining meetings1 point

Im assuming that Dicken is doing a lot of laps in the Northern amateur meetings and looking impressive as otherwise i just don't get where his name has appeared in so many potential line ups? The last i heard is that Alcock had fallen out of love with the sport and was finished with it.....but things often quickly change. Only in speedway can riders like H.McGurk & Crang have appalling seasons and then become sought after signings the following year.1 point

Perhaps he meant Harry Webb who lived not to far away from Rye ? I think he went off on his summer holidays and had a wonderful life.(apart from when he came across the old yew tree)1 point

Strange that he talks about the people he hasn't signed before the team has been announced.1 point

Couldn’t agree more. Fair enough make the same mistake twice but to do it 3 years in a row now is a disgrace. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that he’s awful away from home and bang average at home. Feel for Stewart Dickson as id imagine this signing has been forced on him and has ruined a promising team!1 point

3 brilliant signings so far and the best race track for them, we’re going to see some superb racing in 2024!1 point

Be interesting to see how it goes as Zach probably has the beating of most second strings next season and Ben might have the challenging H13s so averages might get quite close!1 point

Can’t say I was over excited when I heard the name myself, and expected the reaction his announcement has brought about. Have to wait and see but not expecting him to last the season. Time will tell.1 point

Yes, Senna had agreed to go to Redcar but was ‘persuaded’ to go to Oxford. Dicken would be a surprise and a gamble.1 point
