If that were true, why not give Katie Gordon the number 7 spot? Obviously they want to sign someone stronger, so winning does come into it. Clubs will still want to be competitive - not suggesting this would happen to Redcar, but if a team got thrashed every week & no fans turned up, leading to the club pulling out the following season, there would be even less spaces for developing riders.

Cook as Poole's 4th "heat leader" has an average of 6.22. other teams 3rd heat leaders are Etheridge (5.91), Thompson (6.48), Flint (6.56), Jenkins (5.98), Newman (5.65), Jorgensen (6.39). So Cook is not far behind the best 3rd heat leaders in the league & stronger than the weakest. In a 38 point league, I'd say Poole certainly have "4 heat leaders"

Aside from the discussion of Brennan & Thomsen vs Rowe & Newman. What about S.Worrall & Roynon, that would have come to 37.99. Roynon's surely no worse than Thomsen, but Worrall for Brennan is a decent upgrade imo.

With having watched most of the NJL riders this season one rider that has caught my eye every time i seen him ride was Billy Budd he has improved vastly over the year very smooth fast rider and hopfully some team has him in there plans for next year

Not his points scoring that's a problem for me (although that's important), it's how he tries, even when last racing for Sheffield and Belle Vue but gives up when racing for Berwick.

OK, so no Joe T then, but I think that makes the team weaker with Zach as 3rd heat leader. I think there is more improvement in Zach and Toby as 2nd strings than Anders and Kyle. Just my opinion.

If the application fails then AEPG lose out as well as their plans don’t get approved and their debts keep getting bigger, at some point concessions are likely to have to be made to get the planning applications passed. AEPG and the speedway club need to sit round a table and sort it out to the benefit of both, at the moment AEPG seem unwilling to talk or compromise but that could change of course.

Correct however IP30 and IP36 state if so they'll need to find an alternative venue. I know which one is cheaper

I like Kyle (end of season average 5.65. all from reserve) and Anders (5.95) occasionally shows his abilities but to suggest, even in a weaker league they’d score 14-16 points per meeting is pushing it, especially as Kyle would no longer be at reserve. I think your judgement on Tom and Tobias is closer to the mark - 9 to 11. Poole rarely make mistakes and, if they do, they usually find ways to correct them. One of Middlo’s main jobs, as well as “mothering” Tobias has to be keeping Lawson focused on his racing and not allowing him to be distracted by his testimonial. If he can do that, Poole will be close to the top again in 2024

If you want to chat big about your finances, build a safe & secure track for the clubs future first & foremost rather ego boosting waste on GP rider's. It's absolutely horrific this stuff gets dished out, building up the fans only then to see their clubs gone within 5yrs of this such nonsense

Why didn't they sign roynon, last season they said he was capable of a 6pt average.

Im assuming that Dicken is doing a lot of laps in the Northern amateur meetings and looking impressive as otherwise i just don't get where his name has appeared in so many potential line ups? The last i heard is that Alcock had fallen out of love with the sport and was finished with it.....but things often quickly change. Only in speedway can riders like H.McGurk & Crang have appalling seasons and then become sought after signings the following year.

Couldn’t agree more. Fair enough make the same mistake twice but to do it 3 years in a row now is a disgrace. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that he’s awful away from home and bang average at home. Feel for Stewart Dickson as id imagine this signing has been forced on him and has ruined a promising team!

Oxford have a better top 2, Redcar have a better middle 3, but Oxford's reserves have the most potential for improvement imo

Be interesting to see how it goes as Zach probably has the beating of most second strings next season and Ben might have the challenging H13s so averages might get quite close!

Zach is improving all the time, I think there is a fair bit more to come and he could add a half a point to his average next season but have a feeling Ben will continue to be the better brother.

These are the kind that every supporter loves. Theres no doubt the Poole supporters would have been happier and more intrigued, by signing a teenager that nobody else in the other big leagues has yet picked up, rather than a near 30 year old with no pedigree whatsoever. You hope the promotion does their homework and the kid has something about them that they can nurture and see improve at their club. They might never amount to anything sure, most probably don’t, but they may blossom in to something very very good. It’s more exciting finding out than pretty much knowing what you’re going to get from this latest recruit.

Yes, Senna had agreed to go to Redcar but was ‘persuaded’ to go to Oxford. Dicken would be a surprise and a gamble.

Assuming Richie is factually correct. Bottom line is if he never had cocaine in his system he wouldn’t have got a £1,500 fine if he took his punishment instead spouting off all over social media he wouldn’t have got the £3000 fine. No point in blaming everyone else.
