How much does a team manager really have to know. There's not a lot of tactics needed, riders can give each other advice about equipment / track lines etc. Besides Cami Brown has shown you can make poor decisions & still win the league (as long as you can sign a 9 point rider on a 5 point average).
I’m pretty sure if Tobias Thomson had beaten some of these riders on his home track we would be hearing how he’s one of the best signings of the season.
Great work by Workington to get Tate.
While Mountain didn't score so many points in the top 5 compared to riding at number 7, I'd hardly call a 5.4 rider weak! Especially if you consider Thomsen didn't reach 4.0 for Birmingham when he last rode over here.
As a Darcy Ward protege on his home Darcy Ward North Brisbane track, he was expected to do OK. He is also the wildcard in the first round of the Aussie Championships so will be interesting to see how he does then.
Good outing for Tate Zischke tonight in the Centenary meeting

Finished 3rd in his semi final. Won heats 11 and 17 ahead of the likes of Douglas, Fricke, Holder and Doyle.
Looks an exciting signing for the Comets!
Thats nonsense though. Football clubs are trying to house 30-60,000 depending on which stadium and team it is. Speedway teams are looking to park up around 1,000 people at the very max, so probably 750 cars maybe. It’s not asking alot for them to provide some sort of service, area or deal to make that viable and clear for their customers.
Certainly have to disagree re Ablitt. Upped his average from below 2.00 to 3.00 riding in the tougher reserve position (6). Think he did very well last year.
Can understand an argument against Mountain, who scored fantastically well at number 7, but wasn't great in the top 5.
No matter your opinion on it I think Workington will be the away side most fans will be looking forward to see. Some in hope to see Celina fail and say I told you so, others in hope she succeeds. Throw in Tate, the Finn and cookie it's the team I won't be missing when visit ashfield this season.
Fair play to the promotion, will have more than the speedway world talking about this signing can only be good for the sport
I've only seen Celina ride once in the under 24 Ekstraliga and she was miles off the pace. However it's a much tougher league than the Championship and that was at the beginning of last season, she may have progressed since I'm guessing. Although Tate and Antti (Antti in particular) scored VERY well in that league so it's hard to say. I just hope that the second someone fairly criticizes her it's not labelled as sexist just because she's a girl and she's treated as any other rider would be (under performance = the boot). I can see there being lots of drama on upcoming Workington threads lol
The signing I'm most excited by is Antti Vuolas.
