Get over yourself. The track and racing snobbery from a select few from the West is tiresome.3 points

Well Paco turn up from the start and Hey Presto it makes the difference.By all accounts Glasgow were poor. Flint like Worrell can only win if he gates and gets down the back straight in front.Maintaining his average but not winning important heats when the pressure is on. It’s Definately the least exciting Tigers Team for while. Well done to Monarchs.3 points

Edinburgh's mechanical issues saved us from a doing. 50 -39 has the face of respectability but its far from that. Broon summed it up in his comments after ht14 but FFS how did this team come to be put together by choice.3 points

I suspect we’d have seen a lot better performance from Redcar’s youngsters if things had worked out as planned over the last 14 months. Our team structure relies on a strong top 3 doing most of the heavy lifting and we just haven’t had that. Connor was a late addition to the team last year. We lost Eric early on and he was only a shadow of his former (or current) self when he returned. We were still just about in with a shout of winning something when we lost Charles and the season quickly fizzled out. We’ve started 2024 by losing TJ and then almost straight away lost Danny. Puts a lot of pressure on the bottom end to perform in every heat with no respite. I’m sure Connor, Jason and Jake will put a couple of points on their averages at some point and I wouldn’t want to lose any of them. Just a bit tough being a Redcar fan/rider/promoter in the meantime that’s all. Similar situation at other teams to be fair.3 points

Is there a reason Cami Brown stays as manager? Genuine question. Does he have a financial stake for example?2 points

Some very good racing despite the score line and the delays caused by the tape issues. Very inconsistent refereeing didn’t help things but Scunthorpe were always well in control and always looked like comfortable winners. Few bright spots for the Bears, Wright battled as always and Bailey looked much better as the meeting went on. Gilkes had one excellent ride. Zischke had a fantastic first race then tailed off. Scunthorpe are strong at home and Howarth seems to have upped his performance. Could even afford an off night for Lambert and win easily.2 points

Take a bow Scott Nicholls. Sam Masters is becoming the most disappointing rider in the entire league this season when you take into consideration that returning Polish riders haven't been used to British tracks for a good few years. No excuse for Masters to keep putting up these 5's and 6's whilst being protected in the engine room when signed on a 7+ GSA. Richard Lawson having to cover for Max Fricke's poor away form is becoming a regular occurrence.2 points

So the champions elect start their campaign with a tough opening fixture against last year’s fortunate league winners. Looking forward to speedway getting going again at the home of Scottish Speedway although unfortunately I’ll need to take this one in via stream. Let’s hope for some sun. Edinburgh Monarchs: Pickering, Fredriksen, Thomson, Castanga, Sedgmen, Coles, James Possilpark Tigers: Harris, Pearson, Flint, Starke, Worrall, Complin, Pijper1 point

Vissing is very much missed right now although he wouldn't have affected the result tonight. It's the manager. He couldn't fail last year after Tarasenko came in (although he came very close to fumbling the ball against Oxford).1 point

Scunthorpe are a good side at home. I was surprised by the guest choice but meh looks like it is going to be one of those seasons. Big match tomorrow for Redcar. It is winnable for sure and hopefully when Danny King gets back he can inject some more points scoring into the collective. This is depressing!1 point

I have no idea how you can watch that and refer to anything as breathtaking. Maybe I am just conditioned to Glasgow now but the ‘racing’ was non existent. That track reduces most riders to look like wobblers just struggling round.1 point

i bet you dont get to the roundabout in 20 mins . it will take another 10 mins to cross the circle thing . then you have to run past the pikies caravans and get to the main gate/etrance ... , (pikies chasing you to try and sell some garden goodies ) then a further 10/15 mins to get to the areana .you will be humming like a 6 month pair of under crackers .. then you will find out who your mates are ..1 point

Glad to see you finally admit you’re not a proper Oxford fan. You can go back to Swindon now, we don’t want you.1 point

Something I wrote a few years back: I was introduced to speedway at Plough Lane. Wimbledon Speedway were the red and yellow glamour team in London. They had the ‘proper’ stadium – uniformly enclosed cover all around, with a big glass fronted grandstand down the finishing line straight. They also had these unusual wooden cubicles/desks on the third/fourth bends, out in the open, which if you got there early enough, you could sit behind and then have no excuse if your programme wasn’t filled in neatly. They even had a posh centre-green, with cut grass and even plants or flowers sometimes! They also had Ronnie Moore, Briggo, Trevor Hedge, plus Reg Luckhurst and Cyril Maidment. Not to mention Jim Tebby!! Additionally, it played host to some big individual meetings, like ‘The Laurels’ and ‘The Internationale’, and later ‘The Daily Express Spring Classic’, all of which drew bumper crowds from all over the country, with each club from Glasgow to Leicester to Exeter having their usually vociferous and colourfully attired supporters all in their little clumps, supporting their star man. SW17 had the Dons – the Belle Vue of the South. So why did we try this, and reject it in favour of E15 and the Hackney Hawks? Perhaps the answer lies in a slogan that Len Silver used for awhile as almost a ‘strapline’ in his advertising for his team: TRAXCITEMENT! Wimbledon may have had the stadium, but Hackney had the race track! Who wants to sit in relative comfort, but be bored, when you can go along the (Waterden) road and be excited? MAKE IT A DATE – FRIDAY AT EIGHT……..and we did from 1971, for twenty years.1 point

One thing I'll add about Batchelor, who on the opposing team did fans expect him to beat (besides Hagon)? For example Leicester's other reserve Cook, had a greater Champ average than Batchelor. He scored about as well as I'd expect him to.1 point

This is true but he was their best rider last night - people who weren't present and havent seen any race highlights need to understand that last night after bend 2 there was vrtually no passing - that heat i recall Lawson was off gate 4 the same gate many others failed to get away from including Emil in heat 1! Once behind there was virtually no chance of getting past.1 point

You must have missed the bit where I said I'd like to keep Chris Harris. It's just before the bit that you put in bold. What a clown! I've no issue with Harris. I'd swap out whoever works with the averages, be that Harris, Wright, Janowski, etc. Oxford should be making the most of the points they have available to improve the team - if there's a rider(s) who want to actually come.1 point

Obviously it's never going to happen but I'll play the game... and we're working with the scraps again, so: Robert Lambert Richard Lawson Martin Vaculik Mikkel Michelsen Szymon Wozniak Simon Lambert A.N. Other (Hagon can stay, give the lad a chance) PS. don't come back and bother me with averages (unless, of course, it all fits, in which case you can praise me for assembling an amazing title contending team)1 point

Both Bailey and Gilkes have GSAs over five. How many Championshipnreserves have an average under five?1 point

Redcar now have 4 reserve standard riders in Bailey, Mulford, Trigger and Gilkes. On a hiding to nothing at the moment I'm afraid.1 point

He is prepared to make changes when he feels someone is under performing or something isn’t working. For way too long now at Berwick we’ve been blindly loyal to riders even when it’s clear that they and/or the whole team is underperforming. I just feel it’s a breath of fresh air to have someone like that as our Team Manager I’ve also now just noticed my typo in my previous post which may render this whole post moot, oops.1 point

Steve Johnston... When he first arrived at Long Eaton from second halving at Sheffield I used to have to watch his races through my fingers, seemed to be out of control for most of his races!1 point
