  2. That is correct he can and he doesn’t do anything wrong but the fact remains he was the one who turned into foord

  4. You need balls ride a bike you need confidence to race it, crashes do make you weary and the longer your career the more that weariness grows but pretty much you are over it when you get your next race win, nobody wants to crash but if this is in your mind especially in your early years of your career then you need to ask yourself should I be doing this ?

  6. I don't meant to be harsh, but it feels like most of you commenting on Ashton Boughen have literally only seen him race at Poole. I've watched him for two seasons now, and shutting the throttle off when people are near him has never been an issue in the past. It's clearly because he has been riding while injured and doesn't want to aggravate said injury, surely? You've only got to look at his recent form to know something is amiss - you don't go from scoring a maximum at Redcar to riding like that at Poole in the space of a month for no reason. I will agree that Ashton is a bit of an enigma. When he's in front he looks like a million dollars, but when he's behind and doesn't fancy it, he cruises around at the back. On occasions he's come from last to first at Oxford, riding the high line and looking sensational - but there is the other side of him where you can clearly hear him shutting off the throttle coming into the bends when in last place. There is absolutely nobody around him when he does this, it's just something he does, and I don't know why. But at the end of the day, he's 17 years of age, this is only his second full season in the sport and he's still learning his way. Give him time, because he's certainly not afraid of other riders around him or mixing it up when needs be. He just needs to learn the best way to do it.

  7. someone has said it was the same part of the straight where masters was turning one could argue that scott was in front and can turn when he likes within reason

  9. It's not just Poole, it's not just speedway. This is a result of giving the sadder individuals amongst us the freedom to spout via social media. In previous eras they would have been moaning alone or in small groups of sad moaners and been ignored by most of society. Today, social media gives them an equal voice.

  10. He has said he wants to ride for King’s Lynn for a full season before he retires though… so you never know

  11. The wooly bully at his best. Must've had the widest wingspan in speedway elbow to elbow 🤣

  12. Did you see Foord in the first leg at Oxford, or the U19 championship? He's definitely a bit reckless, but has speed. Just needs to learn to tone it down a bit - and more importantly listen to advice from some more senior riders.

  13. Not the owner, just the owners son, who was just enjoying the atmosphere we was creating. he also rides for our club. So really nothing to see here

  14. I've seen 95% of Cheetahs matches this season, all home and nearly all away and he's been doing it all season. The only time he doesn't is when he's in front. It appears worse now as as it's happening more often and more people have noticed and are commenting on it. I'd also be wary of off track issues, this is also not something new. Whether rider mechanics family members or a combination, there does appear to be an attitude somewhere, and seemingly not a positive one.

  16. This Ekstraliga 2 Thursday issue that’s getting a lot of airtime on here isn’t as big as it looks. For example Sheffield started their season middle of March and finished end of September, in that period there was 9 Thursdays unused, pretty sure Polish fixtures will be out well ahead of British ones so surely with big of jiggery pokery the fixtures could easily be accommodated to fit in the 12 TV fixtures from Poland

  18. I really don't think crowd funding should be used like this. Naive fans are being taken advantage of. If Birmingham want a donation, they should open their books and show what the money is needed for.

  19. A rider lacking confidence does not pin it round the air fence for 4 laps infront of the opposite no1, there is more to it than confidence or age, you can tell by the way he rides the bike he has the ability and the speed and is pretty natural on any bike

  20. Are they going to give the air fence's side of the story as well, so not to be biased?

  22. He did they have a place they could move into tomorrow except they need to wait until a motorway junction nearby is altered before they can get on with planning permission from council. Its a 21 acre site which will be used for multiple sports with Adams and CVS running the speedway and Tai in charge of the rest.

  24. The bottom line is Poole were the best team in the league. They assembled a strong top 4, including three riders with significant potential to improve (and all three did, although Zach seemed to save his best performances for the Brummies). Then they signed 'a second-rate' Dane already regarded as a failure over here that nobody else had the remotest interest in and got points out of him. Then they managed to get far more from Hagon (at least in the first half of the season) and Foord (who has a lower NDL average than Scott or Perry) than could reasonably be expected. Whether it's in spotting who to sign or how they bring out the best in riders once signed Poole have that extra edge. My one reservation would be their lack of interest in grassroots speedway.

  27. When is somebody, anybody, going to do something about costs. The riders need to be able to spend less, be paid less and fans pay less admission - this arms race is only going to end one way. Birminghams crowds probably National League (footy) level or worse and their players will be on a fraction of what it costs for someone like Lindgren. Its utter madness.

  28. Just because Foord was slightly ahead, doesn't mean he can ride where he likes, he has clearly caused the crash, You then say Jody Scott was a fault for turning in but he was also ahead, make up your mind.

  29. Yes the ban was introduced after the invasion. To compete in race events,All motorcycle racers (not just speedway) have to be in possession of an appropriate license issued by a national governing body affiliated to the FIM. As such there is no “neutral” body in existence to issue licenses. The FIM are happy for the Russian born riders to compete under a license issued by PZM who in turn choose not to nominate/endorse the Russian born riders ahead of Polish born for inclusion in events associated with GP’s. Incidentally, The ban extends beyond riders to also include officials such as referees, machine examiners & suchlike.

  30. LRF is absolutely right though. It's very 🐍y to do a survival crowd fund. Imagine giving over £100s & they still fold halfway through the season. Will that £10k increase the supporters through the turnstiles? What about in 2026? Another crowd fund? At the end of the day, the Birmingham Promotion team (and the BSPL as a whole) have to do better. Doing a Crowd Fund is cruel to the desperate Speedway loving fan. Certainly won't be the well off handing over their 💰💰

  31. I've never raced a speedway bike, but have competed in road racing to a semi decent standard....and I would say this is mostly true in my experience. However (and it's a big however), I would say this very much each to their own. There's no one rule fits all in this sort of situation, so questioning whether he should be 'doing this' is crazy at this stage of his career. For example, my old mate Josh Brookes struggled massively with the mental side of riding a bike after a crash in 2004 (in his early 20s) and it took him a good six months to finally get over it afterwards. Went on to win the British Superbike Championship and compete in the World Superbike Championship.

  32. So from the chit chat in the Panorama Room at the Woffinden talk last night the latest Sheffield news was Woffinden, Pickering and Rowe in the 2025 team with Pickering given the captain role. Assuming with that then one of the Holder’s is going and Howarth also, shame on both counts as Holder’s would have at least kept their average and Howarth a steal on his average team building wise as can easily improve that

  35. Don’t think you understand the mental aspect of speedway, young or old he has the ability and the speed but shutting off is different to coming last, he doesn’t like riders around him and it’s clear to see, will he get over that ?Well it’s retired many top riders in the past when they don’t want to mix it, I’m not criticising the guy, I’m just pointing out he has an issue it’s up to him how he remedies it

  37. He certainly looks super fit. I’m pleased for him, because speedway wasn’t particularly kind to him and I think he could have done better if injuries hadn’t come at the wrong time. Good rider.

  39. I don't think he has an awful attitude. It looked to me like the Oxford fans were giving him stick, and he was giving it back with a smile on his face. I like him, and I think he has a lot of potential. I do agree that he is a bit of a bull in a china shop at the moment, however, and needs to calm down a bit.

  41. But they are interested in hoovering up the NDL riders that come to the fore (at other promotions expense), but then spit them out when the promise doesn't materialise for whatever reason (e.g. Max Perry).

  43. There is no doubt Pedersen was dirty but he knew exactly where he was putting his bike and was levels and levels above Foord ability wise. Think Foord is more Jason Garrity than Nicki Pedersen.

  47. Yes statement issued by HNGS with regards new location for the Heathens. HNGS Ltd 5th Statement and update. In our last statement we mentioned a pre planning application as copied here below :- A project of a 10 acre site including car parking approximately 2 miles outside the Borough of Dudley was submitted back in November 2023 and a decision/ outcome February 2024. This P/A above was rejected by the Council. This was to be expected. However by submitting this P/A it has given us a list of Council concerns with which we can now work on. HNGS Ltd along with HSST are now in the process of obtaining the help from a company based in Bridgnorth called Strategic Liesure and a top planning consultant from London called LDR Planning Ltd. Planning issues such as noise concerns, transport and highways, architectural plans, landscape and visual impact etc are all going to be included within the planning work. Naturally all this work by the individual specialists will take some time before a second application can be submitted. Your support and patience are appreciated and we will inform you when the next steps are ready to be taken. Regards HNGS Ltd.
