  1. If I remember correctly fans never got on Max's back. They were very encouraging

  2. This would probably happen at Poole more than any other team. Poole can be 20 points up, but still take their weakest rider out of his 4th ride. Certainly happened to Sam Hagon at Oxford in the play-offs despite Poole being comfortably on front. I won't blame the likes of Berwick for doing the same thing to Freddie Hodder, because they were always losing, so needed to give the stronger reserve more rides. Poole's mentality is simply to win by as much as possible, which is there prerogative, but this could be a situation where it could hinder them, with a promising 2.00 rider deciding he'll get more rides elsewhere? No such worries for Cairns, he'll be expecting to be the stronger reserve & get extra rides.

  4. Almost correct, did not want him to do championship at Poole And be the fall guy.

  5. Or maybe he just does not want his son to travel to Poole for 3 rides and maybe be at the back every other race and the fans start giving him grief and loose confidence a bit like they did to Max Perry

  6. Lol I spoke to him when he was on the centre green at Cardiff about three years ago. Never been to a meeting before, thought the riders "had real berries to do that" and said it would make good content for Top Gear. He also posted the final to his followers

  7. This is the most dialled in prediction i have seen in all my years on Speedway Forum although the top 4 is a given as they are easily the best looking line-ups. The only thing i would change is switching Oxford and Workington to 5)Workington and 6) Oxford. Apart from that i 100% agree with your take on the upcoming season.

  16. Sverre came to West Ham in 1965. The swap was with Reg Luckhurst. Olle came to West Ham in 1969 following Sverre's departure.

  17. I have seen Gusts in open events on the continent & he is a sound prospect if a little untidy in style at times. I don't know how he will adapt to the tight Cowley circuit. But if he is to start at reserve then it's a fair gamble.

  18. No idea about last year. Just said Freddie was working for them so you are probably right. Will give them a listen when I have time. Thanks. Started listening to Scott Courtney one just now.

  19. IPSWICH - clearly the strongest team on paper and if not decimated by injuries this time should top the table comfortably. BELLE VUE another strong team assembled in M12 with potential lower down the order, would expect the Aces to meet the Witches in the final all things being equal SHEFFIELD clear vulnerabilities at reserve but their top four will win plenty of meetings especially at home KING'S LYNN always going to have a strong reserve and should be difficult to beat at the AFA but heats 13 and 15 look tough work on the road. Could be a tight scrap for 4th but I'm being biased and plumping for my own team 😁 LEICESTER very similar line up to last year but Howarth doesn't adequately replace Lawson for me and can Cook be relied upon across a whole season? BIRMINGHAM a vast improvement on last season's side, you just wonder whether 100% will be given by everyone team member every week. If it is they could crash the top four and be dark horses OXFORD Gusts is an exciting signing but they look 7th strongest to me without changes

  20. Love a Bank Holiday afternoon meeting. Don’t always produce the best of racing strip particularly in the summer but the extra numbers and atmosphere make it a great occasion. Looking forward to the East Anglian derby on May bank Holiday. Lynn having a more competitive side this year will add to the interest. Will be a bumper Foxhall crowd that’s for sure.

  21. Clubs need to start making their own plans for special fixtures and arranging friendly matches outwith the leagues and KO cup. I'd love to see some international invitational friendly matches.
