  1. Didn't the Witches win twice there last season? Narrow home win as expected - pleasing to read of the good performances from Hume and Rew plenty more to come from both. Nicholls probably got what Musielak would have got about 11-12 - the others / Holder no surprise he seems to really hate / struggle at Foxhall.
  2. Won’t be in town for this still sticking by my original prediction narrow home win! can’t even go to Owlerton tonight either!! My weather check suggests showers 4pmish for Ipswich with sun out by 7pm
  3. Last season it was one win and one defeat at home - won’t make this one - expect a spender home win!
  4. any estimate on the crowd, it seemed fairly decent from the race video posted! I hope so anyway?
  5. Just to inject a bit of positivity isnt Workington back this year?
  6. Good comments, I think both Hume and Rew will be very good riders in time - they show real potential - can't comment on Thompson as I have only seen him ride once in last weeks home defeat so it would unfair to make judgement based on one meeting. Rew did seem to duck out of a couple of first bend challenges last week but perfectly understandable in my view given how new he is in the UK etc. Hume can certainly throw out the odd brilliant ride - he also looks much better on the bike - early on last year he looked shaky and wobbly on the bends at Foxhall buts seems to have ironed that out now. If both can get consistent they will be real assets to the side.
  7. Have you ever been on football forums? This one is very tame by comparison! The blinkers on football ones are well and truly on and any objectivity is left at the door!
  8. Gosh Tobi Kroner - decent lad - that all came cos he had the balls to email the club through the website about a trial!
  9. could be twitter could be facebook etc! Agree nothing much so far on here - concern yes but no outright hostility - he did say internet rather than forum so who knows!
  10. yes 8th May is the away leg - Monday might try and make it! Peterborough only 90 minutes for me
  11. It did seem to me a sort of - 'come on we lost one meeting at home and some seem to think this is a disaster' - Witches unbeaten away from home (for now) so doing something right!
  12. Perfect response to Thursday, maybe the home loss to the Aces doesn't seem so bad given the thumping they have dished out to Peterborough tonight! Please to see King have a good night and also wins for Rew and Danyon, hopfully confidence boosters! Lets hope it isn't the Aces in the next round!
  13. This is a real blow, so sorry Wolves fans! Being an Arena-Essex fan from the 80s i know what it is like to go through this. I hope you find a new home and don't fold. Thanks for the memories - two of the very best meetings I have ever seen were at Monmore - one was a Wolves Cradley derby from 1989 (45-45 draw) and the other the Wolves Ipswich playoff semi from a few years back also 45-45 - both great meetings that I have happy memories of!
  14. One thing is for sure the Witches need a good performance to put Thursday behind them!
  15. Wright was in my view one of the reasons you won on Thursday! he generally goes well at Foxhall. I’ve argued with team mates in football a fair bit over the years always forgotten about afterwards!
  16. From my vantage point there was nothing to warrant it - I was filling in the programme and missed seeing it but Kevin Long mentioned it - which made me look up to see what all the fuss was about - one hopes they shook hands and forgot about it soon after!
  17. Hume scored 5+1 from his 4 programmed rides including a 5-1 with Emil over two riders who are significantly higher ranked than him - he was never going to score in heat one unless he got third! he had 6 rides not 7 (the updates site is wrong) one was RR in heat one the other replacing his reserve partner late on.
  18. Hey Marko - good to see you on here - yes I’d phrased it a tad more gently - a few years later he had basically admitted he’d lost his nerve about racing. I was at Hackney that night sat on the exit of the 4th bend saw it all - horrible thing will never forget it or Paul!
  19. Quite right - we have to decide on stopping something at some point, for him he has been riding for 25 years or more - I can remember seeing him at Owlerton in 98, for all we know this might be his last season in Poland also. I remember the Malcolm Simmons fiasco at Arena in 89 or was it 90, came back to ride did really well - then bust his ankle mid season never came back but it took ages for the fact he'd decided to call in a day (at 43) to filter through. He admitted later he'd lost the desire to race etc - fair enough but come out and say that and be honest.
