  1. Can't not see the Tigers in the playoffs to be fair, as for Emil - with Holder he probably couldn't be fitted in but image him at Owlerton if he rides in the UK in 2024 and the premiership survives into 2024+
  2. Got to bear in mind that none of those are techncially media trained - I know I could never be a commentaor or presenter - I still feel Tatum misses his mate Nige a new lead commentaor with taum as the Co is needed.
  3. seems a tad harsh really, not seen the match yet will watch the highnlights later today, perhaps they should interview some fans after a meeting, particularly a defeat, and see what their faces and comments are like!!
  4. Inclined to agree now - think there is too much ground to make up and none of the top 4 will drop any significant points at home, the Witches need to maxmise their coming matches aginst the Stars but i think it will be too late! Three matches against Kings Lynn - 2 away could define the season!
  5. It has been raining, stopped now but the forecast is for more rain this PM up til 7pm
  6. cheap too! Bright and sunny so far in the Steel City - wont be at this one am going to watch the presentation on Discovery+ - will be at Foxhall on Thursday instead!
  7. Heavy rain and storms this evening - if you are thinking of travelling and I can’t think many will be with it being on Tv check before making that 3.5-4 hr trek!
  8. Getting dixked at home is never fun - from a Sheffield perspective its good to see Ellis back scoring his form was a concern. Stars fans 2023 is over lets hope for better in 2024, the teams looks woefully weak now - Lambert however is a bright spot for you!
  9. Not gonna be there - gonna stick my neck out and say Jason and Emil will claim a narrow win for the Witches in heat 15!
  10. Will give that a try - lets hope the grey suits listen to new ideas then!
  11. I can only speak from the old sky contract - I know the payment was often only a contribution to the lost revenues as so many fans stayed away so it was never an earner and i know one former promoter hated having sky in town as it meant takings were down
  12. as Lakeside we did a free televised meeting as well - huge attendance - sadly most never came back! To be fair to Stan (and Jon Cook) they tried things - sadly both lost to speedway and of course we sadly lost Jon Cook a while back - Duggo is in the US now and I dont think he would ever contemplate promoting again!
  13. so trying to be positive - Josh Pickering seems to have settled back in well Lewis Kerr seems to be a concern now two meetings at no 2 where he hasn;'t scored what I would expect of him given his form since arriving from KL last season. There was local rain throughout the day at various times yesterday and it did rain fairly heavily in the evening and I did think to myself oh this couold stop the meeting. For the record wasn't there!
  14. based on last week - Holder no - Musielak - quite possibly! raning now - should be cleared by later
  15. don't disagree with any of that - all sound from my perspective - would I ever be a 100% attender each week probably not as my team are now long gone!! I really do / should get myself to BV - I currently live in an area where I have plenty of choice - BV is only 1 hr away Sheffield I can walk to and Scunny is only 45 minutes away. if i feel a wee bit more adventurous I could go to Peterborough (90ish mins) or Leicester about the same. Even Wolves I can / have done in about 90 minutes I agree now the racing now is better than its ever been - you just have to watch old videos for that to be proven in my view!
  16. I am aware that my view and experience will contrast with others but I have enjoyed my speedway visits since I started going again in 2021 ish - this year I have attended 3 meetings - 2 at Foxhall crowds were Ok about 2000 ish (maybe more) is my guess and at Sheffield last week. In all 3 the away side has won - crowds fairly decent I reckon there was 2000 maybe more at Owlerton last week too. There has been some decent racing in all particulalry when riders like Doyle Holder and Emil have been involved. There have also been some dull heats FTG as they say but that's speedway. I tend to try and ignore all the shennanigans - if you constantly look for problems you will find them - most other sports wing it and run on a whim of owners / the money men as well. I try to be a glass half full rather then empty type. Ultimnately I want to go to the meeting pay my money and go home afterwards feeling I enjoyed it - which for now I do. I remember once attending a football match at Hillsborough - the guy behind me spent all game moaning about how SH*t3 Wednesday were, the ref was bent, and everyone was an idiot, anyhoo he left with 5 minutes to go the game was 2-2 - the Owls scored a last minute penalty to win which he missed - given the above why had he bothered going if it was causing so much stress!!!
  17. Possibly the best supported! It was a good crowd at Owlerton last week -the best for some time i have seen there grand final excepted! easy 2000+
  18. Just as contrast the company that operates Belle Vue - Belle Vue Speedway 2017 Ltd is 600k in debt!
  19. that brings a tear to my eye - yes he was fantastic around Arena!
  20. Star today carries a 2 page spread interview with Alex Brady - reckons he has spent a 6 figure sum on KL in 2 seasons - to all those fans who blather on about just go out and buy this or get us that rider - 6 figure sum in 2 years to be near the bottom of the league!!
